A word from Bob Marley: A Tribute to Freedom at Universal CityWalk
Share in a one-of-a-kind celebration of music and culture as Bob Marley: A Tribute to Freedom at Universal CityWalk takes you on a musical journey through the life of the "King of Reggae." Bob Marley’s songs of faith, hope, rebellion, and determination have brought inspiration and joy to audiences everywhere. Working closely with Rita Marley and the Bob Marley Foundation, we have created a replica of Bob's home on 56 Hope Road in Kingston, Jamaica. Inside, artifacts, photos, and video clips from his legendary career surround visitors in the open-air veranda and courtyard. The cuisine features Jamaican-influenced appetizers, entrees and desserts. Some of the most popular items are the Oxtail Stew, the Sun is Shining grilled chicken breast marinated in Jamaican curry sauce, and the Taste of Jamaica appetizer platter featuring veggie & beef patties, mango wings and yucca fries.Continued

  • "I was vacationing in Orlando from Atlanta celebrating my 60th birthday. The service and the food was great. The band was awesome. The atmosphere would have been better if it had not been raining. I was looking forward to being on the patio in front of the band. Other than that, I will certainly visit again when I'm in Orlando."

  • "Having a Caribbean backround, I was hesitant to try this place because I'm wary of Americanized Caribbean food. My fears were unfounded!! The Jerk chicken was amazing and the service was spectacular. Please do yourself a favor and give this place a try!!"

  • "The restaurant was interesting since it had a courtyard with a stage for evening entertainment. Although it rained while we were there, we enjoyed some of Marley's music videos which played continuously on the tvs. Food was okay but not memorable. Thep;lace seems more like a night spot and bar scene."

  • "It is an outdoor restaurant so it was a very warm experience , even at 8:00pm. I would definitely still go again."

  • "On our trip to Orlando, we were torn on whether to eat at Bob Marley's or Emeril Lagassas', two well known pioneers. We opted for Bob Marley's and I'm so glad we did. This place is incredible! The atmosphere is bright, fun and colorful. The food was truly authentic. One bite and I felt like I was back in Jamaica. This is a must go!!"

  • "The food was delicious. I had the oxtails with rice and vegetables. My wife had curry chicken with rice and vegetables. We had good servings of each item except the rice. "

  • "Took the family to Universal Studios and went here for dinner. The food was authentic, there was live music and the service was great."

  • "Arrived at opening. Menu was dirty. Tables needed to be wiped down again. Took 45 minutes for kitchen to get out the orders for the first two tables. Waited over 40 minutes for our order. Hot food served on old used wood type plate. Food was good but did worry about the hot food on the wood plate. Restaurant didn't seem ready to open. Disappointed."

  • "We visited on our way out of Universal Studios and were pleasantly surprised - the service was great, the food was great - only complaint was music was sooooo loud we couldn't talk at all while we were there."

  • "The food portions were very small for being at the amusement park all day, BUT the mahi-mahi was excellent tasting & the mashed potatoes were awesome. The TV playing Bob Marley's concert was turned down so that you couldn't even hear them which decreased the experience of being at a themed restaurant. "

  • "We had dinner, chose to eat at the bar, and tried the fondue, oxtails and meat patties. All were quite good, with the oxtails the best of these three. A nice, casual spot for dinner with entertainment beginning at 9:00 PM. Until then, the restaurant is relatively quiet but when the music starts, very loud!! We enjoyed this evening very much."

  • "Authentic memorabilia. Food was not good. Menu was tiny. Service was beyond poor. I waited 25 minutes before a server came up. And the GM was standing at our table the whole time, sending free food that just wasn't good. We even noted that it was my 25 year old sisters first time there, at univiersal in general! Everything was not pleasant at all. "

  • "We had great service, love Bob Marley, so the music playing was nice and relaxing, yet uplifting. Food was great and good quantity. Highly recommend it!"

  • "Our server was wonderful. We ordered the beef kabobs and jerk chicken. The chicken was super dry and room temperature. The beef was decent but a little under done. "

  • "After all the hype, I expected a brilliant place. Very disappointed. Could hardly hear the music, band then only came on at 9-10 and were not good. Toilets were disgraceful, after a day in universal with thousands of people and spotless conditions, you would think the toilets here would be at least the same, yuk! Food ok but portions small. Would avoid. Mexican next door is excellent so is the Hard Rock Cafe. "

  • "Restaurant was great, service was efficient, setting worked, catered for all - kids, vegetarians - would definitely recommend. Best of all was the music - the reggae themes in the background, whilst not drowning any conversation, were great. We all loved it. "

  • "Bob Marley's was good and relaxing. We sat outside for dinner. This restaurant/Club is located upstairs at Universal CityWalk. I had a dark and stormy cocktail that went very well with the Jerk Chicken that I ordered. I would recommend visiting this restaurant late in the evening for the live reggae band, drinks, and bar food."

  • "We have been frequenting Jamaica for over 30 years so when I read about this restaurant we had to go! Atmosphere and service was great but food was not quite like in Negril. I had the very traditional salt fish dish I have had there many many times in Jamaica and it was definitely not ask good."

  • "Nice spot for dinner with the kids and relaxing Caribbean music. Great drinks, food was ok. Kids could dance in the courtyard and have a good time. Very casual and easy dinner after a busy day in the park."

  • "This is a great place to eat at Citywalk area. The food is great and the portions are small not like other restaurants that pile food on and you over eat."

  • "I made a reservation here thinking we would really enjoy the live music and the food would be no more mediocre than most of the nearby restaurants at City Walk. We were happy to find that in addition to great live reggae music and fun Bob Marley memorabilia, the food was actually quite good. I had the shrimp curry and my son had the jerk chicken, both of which were very good. I love sweet plantains, when done right, and these were so good I ordered more for dessert. I tried two different cocktails and they were both delicious and "honest" drinks. We bought some Jamaican hot pepper sauce to take home. If you are headed to City Walk and like Carribean food, this is definitely one of the best restaurants there."

  • "A very authentic restaurant, the food was great. It appeared they were going to have some live music but due to our small children and the time of night we were not able to stay. This would be a place my wife and I would go back to without the kids. The kids menu is limited and they ate very little of their meals. It would be a place for dinner, drinks and live music (a good date night). I would love to come back! It felt like we were back in the Caribbean again!"

  • "Outstanding experience! So cool to find a themed restaurant a/ truly GR8 food! A large statue of Marley (gr8 4 pics) awaits your arrival outside the restaurant (a replica of his pad), as does a friendly team of hosts. U r led down a corridor & into a restaurant that provides a total escape from the real world. Artifacts & memorabilia hang from every wall serving as the greatest tribute to the life of Marley we have ever seen! I couldn't even make it to the table without being drawn to the small but excellent gift shop filed with cool Marley Merch! Food? Outstanding! Great Carribean themed dishes that tasted fantastic! Music? Killer! The house music was great, but the reggae band was phenomenal! If you love Marley, it's an absolute MUST!"

  • "We were skeptical about the overall dining experience as this restaurant was located in a very touristy place...but found amazir, authentic cuisine coupled with an authentic band who were fabulous. Will definitely be back for more jammin mon!"

  • "The restaurant is outdoors and had a great live band. Definitely could feel the Caribbean vibe. The food was pretty good, could have used a little more flavor on the chicken sandwich, but the salsa was great."

  • "Group of 9 of my family and friends had a raggae of a time at Bob Marley for my continuous birthday bash. Food was great, one love drink was awesome. Will be back again. Love the open table it was a lil wait time do to large group but that was fine because we didn't have to wait in line. Spring and Summer this will be the place to be. Love it!"
