A word from Bob Marley: A Tribute to Freedom at Universal CityWalk
Share in a one-of-a-kind celebration of music and culture as Bob Marley: A Tribute to Freedom at Universal CityWalk takes you on a musical journey through the life of the "King of Reggae." Bob Marley’s songs of faith, hope, rebellion, and determination have brought inspiration and joy to audiences everywhere. Working closely with Rita Marley and the Bob Marley Foundation, we have created a replica of Bob's home on 56 Hope Road in Kingston, Jamaica. Inside, artifacts, photos, and video clips from his legendary career surround visitors in the open-air veranda and courtyard.
The cuisine features Jamaican-influenced appetizers, entrees and desserts. Some of the most popular items are the Oxtail Stew, the Sun is Shining grilled chicken breast marinated in Jamaican curry sauce, and the Taste of Jamaica appetizer platter featuring veggie & beef patties, mango wings and yucca fries.

  • "1.25 hours after ordering still had no food. Had to leave for another engagement, and had to pay entire bill?"

  • "Awesome food and music. Ate early then danced the night away to great live reggae band. It was busy so service was a little slow. I truly enjoyed the experience as a Jamaican so I'm sure it is great for non Jamaicans. Building design based on Bob Marley's house in Jamaican."

  • "The food was outstanding and the ambiance was superb! Everything was very chill, it was a nice little escape from all the large crowds that City Walk tends the bring in. I would definably recommend this to anyone who loves a great Jamaican dish!"

  • "Steak was great. Drinks were good. Overall good time."

  • "Went with my wife and food was good. After dinner the place turns into fun. There is a live Reggae band which was really good, energetic, and interacted with audience. During the bands breaks they placed music so you had the best of both. Live music and party night life."

  • "Very comfortable outdoor seating with fans creating a wonderful breeze."

  • "Kid friendly for dinner but heard that a band was coming on at 9 so after that I would think it would be more of a bar scene. Matt our server was knowledgable and friendly. We will be back because of him and the food."

  • "We weren't expecting such great food. We went for the atmosphere and to satisfy our teenagers curiosity. It was outstanding!"

  • "I was vacationing in Orlando from Atlanta celebrating my 60th birthday. The service and the food was great. The band was awesome. The atmosphere would have been better if it had not been raining. I was looking forward to being on the patio in front of the band. Other than that, I will certainly visit again when I'm in Orlando."

  • "Food is very authentic, Wonderful reminder of the True Jamaican food! Great service from Gwen, perfect amount of attention and very knowledgable! Recommended the very best choices. Would make a point to come back as many times as we can on our next visit."

  • "Having a Caribbean backround, I was hesitant to try this place because I'm wary of Americanized Caribbean food. My fears were unfounded!! The Jerk chicken was amazing and the service was spectacular. Please do yourself a favor and give this place a try!!"

  • "It is an outdoor restaurant so it was a very warm experience , even at 8:00pm. I would definitely still go again."

  • "OMG!!!!!! THE OXTAILS !!!!! THE AWESOMENESS !!!! YOUR STAFF WAS GREAT....ALL OF THEM....WE MOVED FROM ONE TABLE TO ANOTHER BECAUSE I WANTED THE FULL EXPERIENCE. THEY WERE EXTREMELY FRIENDLY."

  • "The restaurant was interesting since it had a courtyard with a stage for evening entertainment. Although it rained while we were there, we enjoyed some of Marley's music videos which played continuously on the tvs. Food was okay but not memorable. Thep;lace seems more like a night spot and bar scene."

  • "On our trip to Orlando, we were torn on whether to eat at Bob Marley's or Emeril Lagassas', two well known pioneers. We opted for Bob Marley's and I'm so glad we did. This place is incredible! The atmosphere is bright, fun and colorful. The food was truly authentic. One bite and I felt like I was back in Jamaica. This is a must go!!"

  • "The place looks great and food tastes nice. The shop has some fab t shirts etc for sale. Didn't really like the wooden bowls food was served in - just wonder if they harbour germs? The door service was not quick and slick and when seated the waiter service was not good either. Waited ages to order drinks. Ordered starers and main and all food arrived together at same time, so main was going cold whilst we ate starters. The band came on and played for 10 minutes then had a break and we did not see them again before we left. There was constant pushing of trolleys and barrels (deliveries etc) past our table throughout the meal. the experience could of been better. We booked well in advance but don't think that made any difference."

  • "Arrived at opening. Menu was dirty. Tables needed to be wiped down again. Took 45 minutes for kitchen to get out the orders for the first two tables. Waited over 40 minutes for our order. Hot food served on old used wood type plate. Food was good but did worry about the hot food on the wood plate. Restaurant didn't seem ready to open. Disappointed."

  • "We visited on our way out of Universal Studios and were pleasantly surprised - the service was great, the food was great - only complaint was music was sooooo loud we couldn't talk at all while we were there."

  • "The food portions were very small for being at the amusement park all day, BUT the mahi-mahi was excellent tasting & the mashed potatoes were awesome. The TV playing Bob Marley's concert was turned down so that you couldn't even hear them which decreased the experience of being at a themed restaurant. "

  • "We had dinner, chose to eat at the bar, and tried the fondue, oxtails and meat patties. All were quite good, with the oxtails the best of these three. A nice, casual spot for dinner with entertainment beginning at 9:00 PM. Until then, the restaurant is relatively quiet but when the music starts, very loud!! We enjoyed this evening very much."

  • "Authentic memorabilia. Food was not good. Menu was tiny. Service was beyond poor. I waited 25 minutes before a server came up. And the GM was standing at our table the whole time, sending free food that just wasn't good. We even noted that it was my 25 year old sisters first time there, at univiersal in general! Everything was not pleasant at all. "

  • "Our server was wonderful. We ordered the beef kabobs and jerk chicken. The chicken was super dry and room temperature. The beef was decent but a little under done. "

  • "After all the hype, I expected a brilliant place. Very disappointed. Could hardly hear the music, band then only came on at 9-10 and were not good. Toilets were disgraceful, after a day in universal with thousands of people and spotless conditions, you would think the toilets here would be at least the same, yuk! Food ok but portions small. Would avoid. Mexican next door is excellent so is the Hard Rock Cafe. "

  • "The food was delicious. I had the oxtails with rice and vegetables. My wife had curry chicken with rice and vegetables. We had good servings of each item except the rice. "

  • "Took the family to Universal Studios and went here for dinner. The food was authentic, there was live music and the service was great."

  • "Restaurant was great, service was efficient, setting worked, catered for all - kids, vegetarians - would definitely recommend. Best of all was the music - the reggae themes in the background, whilst not drowning any conversation, were great. We all loved it. "

  • "Bob Marley's was good and relaxing. We sat outside for dinner. This restaurant/Club is located upstairs at Universal CityWalk. I had a dark and stormy cocktail that went very well with the Jerk Chicken that I ordered. I would recommend visiting this restaurant late in the evening for the live reggae band, drinks, and bar food."

  • "Great music, strong drinks and amazing Jamaican food all in a relaxed environment for a relatively inexpensive price. I highly recommend this restaurant"

  • "Ive been a bob marley fan forever...so to have dinner in the court yard was great the hostess was generous on letting us pick our seats our first choice was upstairs but the railing was high and couldnt see the band our next choice was in front of the stage which was good...I had the jerk chicken very tasty and my lady had chicken sandwich...the band was good playing bob marley cover tunes...to reseve our tables on open table worked like a charm...over all everything went smooth a great night to add on our vacation... it was a friday night as well reservation was at 8:45 band started at 9 git out by 10 to miss the clubbers coming in...CHECK IT OUT u wont be disappointed. .."

  • "We have been frequenting Jamaica for over 30 years so when I read about this restaurant we had to go! Atmosphere and service was great but food was not quite like in Negril. I had the very traditional salt fish dish I have had there many many times in Jamaica and it was definitely not ask good."

  • "Nice spot for dinner with the kids and relaxing Caribbean music. Great drinks, food was ok. Kids could dance in the courtyard and have a good time. Very casual and easy dinner after a busy day in the park."

  • "After 9pm, the band came on and was very loud... Distracting with family dinner and couldn't hear each other."
    Dined on 4/4/2014
  • "This is a great place to eat at Citywalk area. The food is great and the portions are small not like other restaurants that pile food on and you over eat."
    Dined on 4/4/2014
  • "A very authentic restaurant, the food was great. It appeared they were going to have some live music but due to our small children and the time of night we were not able to stay. This would be a place my wife and I would go back to without the kids. The kids menu is limited and they ate very little of their meals. It would be a place for dinner, drinks and live music (a good date night). I would love to come back! It felt like we were back in the Caribbean again!"
