Boat House Waterfront DiningGreat MealWe were at the Boathouse for Fathers Day dinner. Our waitress was excellent and we were seated at a window with wonderful river views and sunset. We all ordered different meals and were very pleased with our selections. We will return.6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellenceEverything was perfect....weather did not cooperate however this is New England!!!!
We have already referred friends and family and will continue to. Thank you!!!!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMPricey, but worth it.A small but creative and interesting menu. Servings are generous, and nicely presented. Servers were cheerful, attentive, but not intrusive. The view is wonderful.
Well worth it on a special occasion. It was raining the night we were there but we intend to return for the outdoor patio.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat birthday for my hubbyWe had a great time, the food was great, the atmosphere was perfect. Our waiter Andrew was awesome6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Hidden GemI am originally from RI and had my wedding at The Coschman in Tiverton. I have never been to another restaurant there until Sunday. I found it by looking at the Rhide Island magazine on my hotel room! When I read that it had one of the top outside views in the country, I knew we had to come. Our experience was great! The view was Magnificant! The food was outstanding! Would definitely recommend to others!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMwe will be backGorgeous view great service (thank you Nick) enjoyed the Newport eggs
Benedict and a Bloody Mary . Nice breeze with the large open windows
And some relaxing jazz in the background.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only bummer was the wind,The only bummer was the wind, which blew over several umbrella's causing table to jump. The excitement of that nature was not expected6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat viewHad a very nice lunch at the Boat House. The view is fantastic and the food is very good.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesomeI had requested champagne to be brought to my table just after we were sat. When the waiter cane out he had the champagne with him. It made for a great start to a pleasurable night. The food was delicious and scenery was great.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner For FourVery crowded for our reservation on a Sunday at 3:00. They serve brunch until 2:00 but as we ate and when we left people were still arriving the whole time. Always busy here. Reservations highly recommended. We've eaten at the bar many times when not making a reservation.
Food was good but my husband's bluefish was overlooked and small. This is a pricey restaurant and the servings are not huge. But the view is what you are paying for overlooking the Sakonnet River.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Boat House is a solid findMy wife and I really enjoyed this Eastern Rhode Island gem. The architecture and atmosphere are welcoming and the unobstructed view of the Sakonnet River was fantastic. The fish and mussel dishes that we ordered were solid, but nothing special. The salads were a strong point. Visiting from the West Coast, I was really pleased by the strong selections of rum at the bar. The service was friendly and competent, but not over the top. This is a great place for both romantics and larger groups. We highly recommend.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were looking for a waterfrontWe were looking for a waterfront dining experience and we found a gem. The ocean view is spectacular, service outstanding and food good enough to please someone that has eaten her way through Boston' s finest! Raves from my party of 4 from the apps., to chowder and salads then onto eggs benedict, lamb, steak and lobster salad. Can't wait to return.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat location on waterfrontSunsets are part of the menu at this local favorite. Service is always outstanding. Both food and beverages are top notch. Great place to meet friends5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMDelish!I just love this place-Amy was in training and she did an awesome job. We would have never known if she didn't mention it.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe would recommend this toWe would recommend this to anyone for a special occasion. Because we do not live in the area we will have to try it for lunch when we are in RI again. Great ambiance and music was soft and lovely. Attention to detail was excellent. We felt and saw the care given to each customer. Wonder food and superb waitress~~5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this restaurantWe came for brunch on Mothers Day which required an advance reservation because the place is so popular. The outdoor eating is great, but even inside is beautiful because the large windows open wide for the breeze weather permitting. The food was delicious, especially the oysters on the half shell. The staff was friendly and efficient but not intrusive. Bloody Mary was spicy and delicious, lobster roll very good, and the brunch items, especially the Newport Benedict, very good right down to the fresh fruit. We're looking forward to our next visit.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMawesome viewRequested a waterfront table which we received, the food was wonderful, wish menu had a few more choices but it was definetly adequate, and the service couldn't have been any better. Will defintely return.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMBayside OasisThis is a top notch restaurrant with quality fare and a great staff -- the location places it in the top rung of regionsl restaurants.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMwaterfront dining for a fun nightHave been to the Boathouse many times. Off season--much quieter, but in season on a friday night, the place was jumping. Still, service was great...food average...view, amazing.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat outdoor lunch! We sat outside on a beautiful afternoon and had lunch. Looking out over the bay under umbrellas was the perfect way to spend the afternoon. The food was delicious, the service was quick and with a friendly smile.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMContinues to deliverLove the Boat House. We discovered it about last fall and have been back número use time for lunch and dinner. The food is always fresh and perfectly cooked. Drinks are great and the service is very attentive. Although it is at the higher price range, you get what you pay for and more. We will be dining there for a long time.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMJust a bit sub-parFor such a pricy restaurant, the service was so-so and the noise level was much too high for a "special" night out when compared to all the available outstanding restaurants available in the surrounding area.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMI would rate the overall lunch/diniI would rate the overall lunch/dining experience as excellent. I would recommend The Boat House highly and look forward to returning soon.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Boat House has alwaysThe Boat House has always been one of my favorite restaurants because of the location, the view, and the service. Over the past few years (since they brought in a new chef), it has also become one of the best restaurants in terms of the food quality and variety.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful setting, good foodBeautiful setting, good food and local selections on the wine list.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMYou can't beat The BoathouseYou can't beat The Boathouse for a seafood lunch or dinner or just drinks on a summer afternoon. The decor is very tasteful and the water views can't be beat. The attentive staff and menu filled with local bounty only add to the overall experience. We were celebrating three birthdays and our lovely waitress surprised us with a creme brulee serving topped with a lit candle. We lingered long after our lunch (on a quiet spring weekday) and just enjoyed the atmosphere.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOur second time for dinnerOur second time for dinner at the Boat House. The first time the weather was warm and the windows were wide open with a light breeze blowing in. This time was cool, so windows were closed, but the sunset view over the water was gorgeous nonetheless. We came for my brother's birthday; he drove an hour from Boston area and loved the restaurant. Said he would definitely go back. We all had the prix fixe menu, which offered three appetizer choices, three entree choices and two dessert choices. I had the mussels to start and the salmon for the main course; both were delicious as was the banana cake with maple ice cream. There's something elegant and open and fresh about the restaurant's decor that will definitely keep us coming back.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe perfect eveningCleaned my plate the lemon sole was so delicious! Beautiful sunset, Crystal was a terrific server, food delicious -- I can't wait to return!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time in Rhode IslandFirst time in Rhode Island and we found this restaurant in a book that the hotel had in the room for people who wanted to explore Rhode Island. My boyfriend and I looked up the place and food looked decent as well as the view and prices. But once we got there we knew we underestimated this place. Service was amazing as well as the view. It's a very romantic place for any occasion. I wouldn't considered it a family place to take kids. Food was beyond impeccable. Our server was patient and understanding. Gave us dessert on the house because we've never tried gelato before!! It's definitely somewhere that you would have to experience in Rhode Island.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFood in general was good butFood in general was good but the Fisherman's stew had a very bland tomato flavor and not the saffron type broth one might typically find in this dish.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful view, great service,Beautiful view, great service, and terrific food!
What more could you ask for?4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Boat House is our favoriteThe Boat House is our favorite restaurant. There are not many places in the East Coast where you can watch the sunset over the water while dining.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time andThis was our first time and we were very satisfied. Everything was very good. More room is needed between the bar and the tables. Too scrunched in. We will be back for another special occasion.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfectionSpeaking to a friend about exploring Tiverton, she said,"Go to the Boathouse for lunch." I called to be sure you were open. The hostess suggested that I make reservations, so I did. Just the drive down the long hill to the water, left us impressed. What a charming venue! My friends raved about their food. I had a fields green salad with a taste I have never experience. The chicken sandwich was delicious-the aioli, the frissee, the chicken cooked to perfection. Then the chef had added a dessert for the day- chocolate mousse cake- to die for. Broke the diet but this was well worth every single solitary calorie. My friends spent the rest of the day thanking me for finding the Boathouse. We'll be back! Only suggestion- NEVER CHANGE!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWe felt we were taken careWe felt we were taken care of at every turn. food and server were outstanding. Excellent service and very nice water view with sailboats gliding by. Definitely a favorite lunch spot for special occasions or during Restaurant Weeks.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was the first day the deckIt was the first day the deck was open - so I was able to savor the view. I had the Restaurant Week menu; chow
der was very good, fish sandwich was good, but there was not enough sauce (could barely taste it). Creme Brulee was excellent and generous.
The staff is atttentive and very welcoming/accomodating. I will return one day for dinner at sunset as lunch is not the best time to judge the food.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent lunch, good service.Excellent lunch, good service. Menu selections were varied and wonderfully prepared and presented. Our server could not have been more pleasant or attentive. And of course the view, even on a cloudy spring evening, was beautiful.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMTell the Chef I loved my Lemon SoleThis was our 3rd time dining at the Boat House. The first time a year ago, second time one summer evening last year and this time to have dinner on Easter Sunday. Each and every time the food has been consistently good and not boring. Portions are ideal--not overwhelming. Food not over-salted and very fresh. Excellent salad and dessert was superb. We were happy again with our restaurant choice and despite it being very busy on this holiday, they did not skip a beat on quality of food and service.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was excellent!Everything was excellent!
