  • "I had heard of BOA and waited 6 months to try is out. I was very excited and the really disappointed. I had the seared tuna that hoenstly looked like it had come out of some cheap sushi take away. It was tasteless. great if you are on a health kick are trying to loose weight. my partner had the filet steak ordered medium rare. it was totally well done and the meat was tough. I have had much better food from the capital grill. even the mushrooms were just better drenched salty blah."

  • "I looked over Los Angeles magazine's list of top restaurants, and choose BOA even though it wasn't on there. Some times knowing you're gettinga great meal is better than taking a chance with an unproven spot. I had rib eye and my wife had the filet. Though the flavor was good, I did have some gristle in mine (very unusual here). We ordered lots of sides: chipotle lime corn (my fave), mashed potatoes, mushrooms, broccolini, and creamed spinach. All of them were amazing. To end the meal, they brought us Baked Alaska for dessert. This is probably not something I would have ordered...and what a fool I would have been. It was so tasty. And they brought it out with a sparkler instead of a candle. Great touch. Will be going back soon!!"

  • "We were treated with such attentiveness and great service. Food came just a little bit slow, but our server routinely came and check to see how we were doing. Since we were there for a birthday, we received a complimentary baked alaska, which was delicious. To top it off, the "candle" was a firework! Although we weren't completely head-over-heels smitten with the food, it was very good. I highly recommend the sides."

  • "We had the steaks. They were good but pricey. Seemed a bit dry. The scallops were good. Dessert came, but no coffee. They were still making it after we finished dessert so cancelled on the coffee. The service was good but not outstanding."

  • "This was our second visit to BOA. It will be our last. There is no excuse for a steakhouse not being able to cook a steak properly. On both occasions steaks were requested medium rare and came out medium to medium well. Unforgivable. With so many choices for quality steakhouses this one can be passed over."

  • "Bad experience. Food came at diff times, sent 2 steaks back, 2 orders were forgotten - one of which we NEver got! Chop salad was so bland I couldn't add enough salt and pepper. Filet was very good. The manager was very helpful by taking off the stuff we did not receive and also sent dessert. However there was more miscommunication because she said we could choose, but then were sent two chosen by the chef. She did allow us to pick another one after. Overall bad first experience but beleive the manager was very helpful."

  • "We decided to have our graduation lunch here. Although the food took a bit of a wait, it was well worth it. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and commented how good it was. They also surprised us and brought out a celebration candle with complimentary dessert for the grad. The fries with cheese truffle sauce are yummy, everyone raved abut the onion rings. I had the marinated steak with fries. We ordered a few of the butter cakes to share. Everything was delicious. We are planning to come for dinner soon!"

  • "We overheard other wait staff going into an elaborate welcome and menu run down we did not receive. Both steak orders were grossly under cooked. "Chop chop" salad lacked any flavor. Steamed vegetables were overcooked with most turned mushy. No one ever asked how the meal was or how we were doing, as is typical in most restaurants - giving the opportunity to share the above concerns. The sparkler with dessert is fun and festive for a special occasion. However, we weren't given the option to choose the dessert and what arrived was not as exciting as the sparkler or even the dessert our neighbor was enjoying. A woman dressed apart from the wait staff came to our table twice, interacted with our child only and never identified herself."

  • "Read the few bad comments, and decided to try it out. Could not at all figure out what they were talking about. Been dining out for 30 years and this place was outstanding. Awesome service; Manager even came by twice. 40 Day dry aged steak was cooked perfectly, and the flavor awesome. Get the sauce on the side as the steak speaks for itself. Had the grilled green beans and mac n cheese sides, and they were wonderful. An awesome Goat Cheese appetizer and French Onion soup was also great!! Two amazing desserts completed our great meal. DO NOT LISTEN to the bad reviews and go and enjoy a great experience; you will not regret it!"

The food was overpriced and fair for a steak house compared to so many competitors. Made Saturday early evening reservation at 19.30 and place was empty by the time we finished at 20.45. "

  • "Dining at BOA is a real treat for my boyfriend and I, seeing as we don't go out to eat too often. It is a restaurant that I have frequented for a few years now and I am still blown away by the exceptional food and service. We usually order the petite filet, 21 day aged bone-in ribeye (although my bf did venture out and order the bone-in Kansas City filet mignon this time), roasted garlic mashed potatoes, chipotle like corn, and the grilled jumbo asparagus. Service was excellent as per usual, we always go right before the crazy dinner rush so we can enjoy our meal. All in all a great dining experience and we can't wait to be back!"

I was shocked that the bill was not higher. The two tier seafood sea food extravaganza was an amazing value and high quality (although a few items were not fresh)...filet with gorgonzola was delicious"

  • "I made a special request for a corner booth on my Open Table reservation but when we arrived and I mentioned it, there was no acknowledgement that such a request existed. The maitre d suggested a patio corner but it was right in the sun and there was no umbrella. He kept pushing it though we insisted on sitting indoors. He reluctantly gave us an indoor 2 seater and left quickly. Overall, the dinner delivered as expected, nothing extraordinary and there were long periods where no one checked on us. When the entrees and sides arrived, about 4 different folks checked on us. Go figure. We ate recently at Hillstone around the corner and it was an overall much better experience."

  • "I used to love the NY Strip here, but I hadn't been in several years. My girlfriend's ribeye was good. But my NY strip was bland. I will be sticking to Mastro's and Wolfgang's from now on. Which is disappointing because BOA Santa Monica is so much more convenient. My girlfriend thinks BOA Weho is good but BOA Santa Monica is a tourist trap that gets by on it's location."

  • "I brought customers to this venue and we sat outside for dinner. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere and a great area to sit outside. There were space heaters that kept us warm as the cool night breeze kicked up. I ordered the filet and we shared sides of mashedpotatoes and asparagus which was all really good. I will definitely be heading to BOA again when in the area. "

  • "This was a special night. My girlfriend and me had a great evening dining at BOA! Excellent service, we sat in the enclosed outside patio overlooking the ocean and pier.... Great romantic view and energy! While known for its steak, we shared fabulous sea bass, the tuna tartar with sweet salsa, and blonde Baja oysters on the half shell. The food was perfect, the service impeccable, and they treated us to a tasty special seared marshmallow ice cream dessert with Carmel dripped on top!!! Yummy...."

  • "This was my second visit to Boa and it will probably be my last. I am guessing the restaurant figures it will live off the tourists that do not know any better because at this price point I cannot see locals frequenting the restaurant. There are far too many good reastaurants in the area to pay 5 star prices for 3 star food. The steak was good, well cooked and tasty so they've got that going for them but a ceaser salad that was way over spiced and mediocre side dishes just don't do it at these prices."
