BOA Steakhouse - Santa MonicaFun and good foodHad read many reviews and in general they were spot on. Excellent steaks, typical steak house sides, good vibe in the place BUT the service is a bit. It is very simple to see why, they don't have enough servers. Our server was great and super efficient but she simply had too many tables.

( okay, i love a good steak too ) i also love to take my out of town nieces here when they come to visit. on this visit i dressed down as my niece did not bring anything but her college wardrobe with her......i sprung a graduation celebration on her last minute! i noticed the tables around us got a bit more attion and their needs attended to first....not normal when i usually dine here, espcially when my i can compare the sevice from this waiter to my previous visits....oh well, she had fun and loved it! and i enjoyed the company of the other diners!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMParty in my mouth!!I've never eaten here, but I'm glad I did. I dont eat steak, but my bunny bun does and he said it melted in his mouth. Out waiter was funny and friendly. Ambience was lively, but not overly loud or crowded.
If you haven't eaten here, go!! The food was quite good, especially the Goat Cheese stuff Baklava. The steak was excellent but I was actually more impressed by the steam mushrooms and Chipotle Lime Corn. The wine list was extensive but pricey but I was able to find a great bottle of Malbec that was adequately priced. Overall, Boa was actually surprisingly good in quality and service although the menu was not inventive and was pricey. One last word, make reservations if you do not want to wait outside with the crowds...5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSURPRISE SERVICEIt was my husband 39th birthday and he requested me to make a reservation at BOA. He loves the Japanese beef. The food was excellent and he enjoyed it. We were well stuffed and was not able to order any desert. So we were ready to leave, then what a surprise that the waiter had brought a candle and a chocolate cake for him. It made our dinner more special and we were so happy. Thank you very much.
I could not give you the 5 starts today because the noise level was a little high even thought was Wednesday night. Since I am a half deaf and it was very difficult to keep talking with my husband at the face-to-face table. I am wondering if it is possible to request the seat next time.

The appetizers were fantastic. I had crab cake, my wife had scallops - both expertly prepared the scallops in particular.
