A word from BluWater Bistro - Leschi
We opened The 3rd BluWater Bistro location in the Leschi neighborhood on March 13, 2004. Mick McHugh handed the reigns over to us after 22 successful years of running the Leschi Lake Café. With a slight remodel we cozy'd up the place, added some fantastic rollback windows, high back booths, some flat screen TV's, and leather furniture by the fireplace. The menu reflects all the goodness that a cozy bistro should offer, including the ever famous & popular "Lake Side Café" Fish and Chips... gotta keep the neighborhood happy. Stop in for some brunch on the weekends or some late night food.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "We've dined there for lunch and dinner many times. Easy to get to, great parking, wonderful staff. I had a NY steak which was great. The key to this place is the view and outdoor seating."

  • "We had Mom's 93rd birthday at BluWater at Leschi. She was very happy, but all of us were very happy with the waitstaff, especially Travis. He is more than gracious, accomodating, and just plain nice. The food was good, but he really made the visit outstanding, and better than even the beautiful view. The restaurant would be appealing for all types of diners, no matter what you are seeking. Since there were so many of us, we were likely the loudest people there, but could still converse, hopefully without being too disturbing. At one point the restaurant was pretty full, which speaks well for it, too. All personnel were extremely nice, phone or in person."

  • "I chose this restaurant as a private place to have a business meeting where we could talk, be heard and take our time and the venue delivered. The food was fair but fine; the service was exactly what you would want in this situation....never obtrusive but always observant. They let us linger after eating so we could finalize our business and by the way, it's a great view."

  • "What a great place to go and sit with old friends and have a delicious lunch."

  • "It was great. Me and my girl really enjoyed our visit and we git the table with the view."

  • "The food was good but even with a reservation I was sat at a table with a broken bench and had to ask the table next to us to get up so my guest would have room to get to their chair."

  • "They way overbooked on Valentine's Day and we arrived to a long wait. Thankfully there was seating in the bar area."

  • "Everything was great - ambience, service, food, view, price...except for the reservation process. When we arrived we were told our they had our Open Table reservation but were about 15 minutes behind, and would call us. 40 minutes later, we realized they were taking reservations on a separate list, as people entered - and then seating them off THAT list and not the list our Open Table reservation was on. I asked and she said I was not on "the list", I objected and explained we had a reservation that the hostess acknowledged, and were told it would be about 15 minutes, about 45 minutes ago. She said "Honey, everybody has a reservation" and offered to put me at the bottom of the "new list". Horrible reservation service..."

  • "We arrived 10 min early for our reservation to find the hallways packed with people. The poor woman at the front desk telling everybody "they overbooked." Writing down names on a long list with no estimate of when we would be seated. No room in the bar. No management staff in evidence. We left. We have been married almost 30 years and happened to have a chocolate torte and a bottle of port at home, so we did okay. I feel bad for all those younger folks who were trying to make a good impression with their dates."

  • "Have eaten at Leschi many times. Was always satisfied, but my Valentine's meal was so blah. How can you mess up blue cheese salad? Mine was watery and vacant of flavor. My mahi mahi stuffed with crab was fried and way over cooked. I'm not sure I will ever go back, I was so disappointed in the food. The service was good, though. My table was from the patio and was so wiggly, I thought it had a broken leg. This restaurant really needs to up their food quality!"

  • "The moon danced off Lake Washington creating millions of little twinkles that echoed the sky above. A gentle breeze, played with our hair & clothes. Stepping into the lively restaurant was like stepping into a different world. We were greeted with excited voices, all there for the same reason: to celebrate love. Our wait wasn't long & before we knew it our food was steaming, enticing our taste buds & wetting our pallets. My love sat wide-eyed before a big plate of veggies, seasoned & steamed to perfection, a steak that was sizzled to order & a glass of our favorite beer. Before we knew it our plates & glasses were empty & our bellies full. We paid our fair check & road home in a food-drunken haze. A beautiful end to a beautiful night."

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to bluwater on valentines. Got a seat by the window moments after walking in and greeted with a nice waitress shortly after. Ordered the surf and turf, which was the valentines special and enjoyed it. My date ordered the ribeye and she loved it as well. I also ordered the mahi mahi to try it out and enjoyed that as well. All the food was delicious and I wouldn't mind coming back for round 2"

  • "Our family of four (2 adults & 2 small kids) enjoyed our weekday visit to BluWater Bistro. We were alone in the dining room on a Wednesday night at 5pm and it was quiet, peaceful and awesome. Our waitress was very attentive but not over-bearing, the food was very good and we enjoyed the view of the beautiful area outside. We could see the Cascade Mountains in the distance and got to watch the sun set. It was one of the most enjoyable birthday dinners I have ever had. I highly recommend it - the restaurant is cozy and very cool."

  • "The food is fine, the location and ambiance are lovely. It's Karmen and Kimberlee (the wait staff) that keep us coming back. Some of the food is very good. The New Year's eve dinner was very nice and we were treated like royalty. We like the pizza, salmon, chowder Parmesan chicken, Rockfish. this is a very comfortable place to eat at a reasonable price."

  • "My friend and I came here on New Year's Eve fully prepared to have a bite to eat, and be home, safe and sound, before midnight. However, because of the energy of the live music, played by the Sammy Drain Experience, we ended up having a great time and staying to ring in the New Year! The food was good. The sauteed prawns were especially tasty. As for the service, at our table, as well as others, servers were having a little difficulty figuring out where orders belonged. Nevertheless, overall, the service was prompt, friendly, and courteous. I would definitely like to go to the BluWater Bistro again to see what it's like on a regular night."

  • "We chose this restaurant because it was one of the only places that had a table a day before new year's eve. The menu looked decent and we went for it. The place was a great surprise! the food was good, they had a nice band playing and most of all a different energy and ambience then we usually find in Seattle. Very friendly, inviting, a variety of diners and everyone looked happy and comfortable. Maybe it was the new year atmosphere, but we certainly intend to check this restaurant again!"

  • "I took my girl out to BluWater for a New Years Eve dinner, and it was by far one of the best dining experiences we've had. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, and the food was absolutely amazing. They definitely know how to treat their customers, and the ambiance was a great combination of being romantic, yet lively. Needless to say, we will definitely be coming back!!"

  • "We decided to have our family go out for dinner the Christmas. The food was great, service splendid, and I didn't have to do the dishes! We will make BluWater Bistro a regular during the coming year."

  • "This elderly couple came for Christmas dinner. And we had a good time. Even though the place was busy, the service was quick and the food was excellent."

  • "We made a reservation for a party of 6. We arrived on time and were told it would be 10 to 15 minute before we could be seated. After 30 minutes, we asked again how long it would be. The hostess said they were setting up our table and would only be a few more minutes. But another 20 minutes later, we still had not been seated. Eventually we were seated -- almost 55 minutes after we arrived. Notably, a party of 5 walked in 5 minutes after we were seated, and the 5 of them were seated immediately. Don't accept a reservation if you can't honor it, and tell us the truth we we ask for estimates!"

  • "Blue Water Bistro, Leschi was a nice surprise. I had not visited the restaurant for quite a few years. The food was quite good, the wait staff was friendly and the restaurant has a nice friendly feel to it. People of all ages seem to co-exist and enjoy dining at the Blue Water Bistro in Leschi"

  • "This restaurant features a reasonably priced Thanksgiving meal, allowing those who can't or don't want to create the "family feast" at home to enjoy same, with a beautiful Lakeside view (if you get in before 4:30-5:00PM). With your choice of two entrees, Turkey , Roast Beef, or Ham, and all the holiday meal fixings, it's a home away from home meal. The wait staff are attentive and non-obtrusive, The ambiance is festive. Overall a relaxing, fun, festive meal."

  • "We tried this restaurant for their Thanksgiving Feast, which was a nice sized pile of food but, with the notably tasty exception of the salad and the squash soup, the food was rather bland. I did check out the restaurant in advance and had good luck with a flavorful salmon plate but something happened in the preparation of this dinner. I wonder if they were trying to save money for the special event and so didn't put their usual effort into the food. That said, the ambience was lively, the view across the lake was serene, and the wait staff had good timing and was professional and pleasant. I would go back but probably not for Thanksgiving Dinner."

  • "We were at BluWater Bistro for Thanksgiving and the food was really excellent and was combined with a great local wine. The beautiful lakeside location makes that this restaurant has everything for a perfect dinner out. We will certainly return sometime."

  • "What else is to be said: they ran out of turkey. Although management made good in reducing the price, a restaurant needs to be able to provide what they advertise on a special day."

  • "We went gere for the first time and really enjoyed the views. The food was good but prime rib was dry... The staff were very friendly and being on the waterfront it had great views!"

  • "My wife works in Leschi and we wanted to try a local restaurant. BluWater did not disappoint! The bar up front did good service to the locals, and the restaurant itself, though attached, seemed its own atmosphere. The service was amazingly friendly, and the clientele was as friendly as the staff! The food was the right temperature and very tasty. What kept this from being five stars is the food was somewhat delayed even though there weren't many there that night. It's enough to remove one star, but absolutely not enough to stop me from HIGHLY recommending this place!"

  • "We met with some friends here for a Sunday brunch. When we arrived, the table was ready with the highchair I requested at a lovely window seat. Our server was very nice and treated us wonderfully, although he did get several parts of our order wrong. (My wife suspects he was hung-over) It's possible that the kitchen staff was too; my eggs for the Benedict were over cooked, they split the wrong dish, and the food didn't seem up to their standard. I got new eggs, but 4 eggs to share the hollandaise didn't quite work. I ordered the ham Benedict, but was served the crab. I told him it was wrong, I still got charged for the higher priced crab. Overall, I still like the restaurant, but now I know why they're not a popular brunch choice."

  • "My mother, sister, great nephew (who is 10) and myself were there to celebrate my sisters birthday with dinner. We have been for brunch but never dinner. We all had a great time, food, drinks and view fantastic. We had a wonderful waiter (can't remember his name) who was fabulous ! Was able to interact and entertain all of us. Will definately be back."

  • "I took an out of town friend there for dinner and the view was fantastic, our waitress was expectional and the food was good. The dessert was over the top... chocolate brownie with ice cream. I would recommend it to friends because of the experience and the wide variety of menu choices."

  • "I was disappointed in brunch at the BluWater bistro, there was nothing extraordinary about my husband's omelet, and my eggs benedict were just so-so. The meals were accompanied by a fruit garnish ala Denny's. Lunch later in the week was okay, with a passable Seafood Louie, but the restaurant feels tired and run down."
