Diner Reviews
  • "Our dinner was delicious - the cream of crab soup is fantastic (though, rich) and the fried green tomatoes were excellent. Great choice of fresh salads and sandwiches too. My only complaint is that our server only appeared to chat. He didn't take our drink orders, bring our drinks, take our dinner order, bring dinner or bring the check. This was all done by a very nice (possibly) bus boy or runner who was great. He kept telling us that our server was tied up but he did a great job with our table. We actually requested that the table be transferred to him so that he could get our tip. It was not a smooth service experience, but we didn't really investigate to see where the problem originated - hostess, manager, server? Confusing."

  • "Bluestone has been a favorite of ours for years. The service is always friendly and efficient, and the food is always well-prepared and creatively presented. They also have a nice selection of wines and beers."

  • "Been to the Bluestone many times. Went to dinner with my wife and friends that live in Manhattan - they were impressed with with what Bluestone had to offer. Excellent as always..."

  • "Everyone in our party liked their entrees, which were all seafood. Ample portions and delicious fresh warm bread. Strawberry fields salad was better than bluestone salad. Service was attentive but not overbearing. We really enjoyed the experience."

  • "I think the title just about sums it up. I got the petite filet mignon and my husband got the salmon. Both were OK, but nothing special. It was a bit expensive too, for a "nothing special" meal. "

  • "Our group came for lunch. Everything was wonderful and we will continue to dine here and refer this place to friends. I only gave you 4 stars for food and service because there wasn't much on the menu for vegetarians that don't eat meat or seafood. Also, the waitress wasn't very knowledgeable as far as making suggestions for certain dishes to accommodate the vegetarians, but her overall service was great."

  • "I took my wife here for our Anniversary and like our previous visits we are always impressed with the quality food at a very reasonable price. We love the sangria."

  • "Bluestone serves up excellent seafood with more flair than many restaurants serving Maryland seafood fare. The prices are reasonable, given the quality, too. The wine list is also quite reasonable. On Sundays, one can have appetizer or salad, any entree and dessert for $33, a deal for most entrees. On the Sunday evening we went, it was probably quieter than when filled to the brim, as we have heard it often is. One could tell that the acoustics would make the place very loud when crowded. No way this place is for a quiet, romantic dinner. About the only thing I wish, but that is in short supply these days, is that tables had tablecloths, rather than placemats. It would enhance the dining, appreciably."

  • "We family and I ordered off of their prix-fix menu, offering soup or salad, any entree, and dessert for $33. The food was indulgent and delicious! The pace that food was brought out was slow, but that was a good thing! We were able to fully enjoy our courses without feeling rushed! The food was excellent. I had cream of crab soup (wonderful), and an incredible Chilean sea bass. The fish was perfectly cooked, with a delicious creamy tomato and shrimp sauce. The sauce was rich, but there was not a ton of it, so the dish was still light. For dessert, I had key lime pie. It was deliciously creamy and the berries served with it were incredibly sweet and delicious despite being out of season. Everyone loved their food!"

  • "We had a late lunch at Bluestone to celebrate a birthday of a close friend. Restaurant was an excellent choice: easy enough to find for us non-locals, adequate parking, and good visuals upon entry. Hostess was very professional, and our server, Morgan, was a delight. Drinks were prompt and accurate, and there was no pressure to order as we chatted and caught up with the celebrant. Three of our group had the crab cake sandwich, the quintessential Balto dish, and all were delighted by both presentation and taste. Our fourth had the seafood stew, and could not stop raving about it! Dessert was a shared creme brulee, which came topped with a candle, but sadly, although tasty, did not meet the high standards of the entrees. We highly recommend!!"

  • "It was disappointing that the menu I had reviwed prior to my visit was not consistent with the hardcopy menu provided at the restaurant. Thus, the dish I had picked out wasn't available. It would be good to update the webpage menu as changes occur. It was one of the busiest days we visited--Saturday dinner. At 5:45, it was quiet, but, later on, it was so loud that we couldn't carry out the conversation. It would be nice if there can be more quietness, at least in one section of the restaurant. The food and service were excellent, as usual. See you next time."

  • "Bluestone remains consistently verygood. Starting at the bar, before being seated in the "waterfall" room which we had requested, martinis were "made to order". Excellent! Requested some bread at the bar. Delicious! Were then seated and enjoyed terrific "Sally" salad as a starter. Then came the main course. My wife had beautifully prepared Chilean Sea bass while I very much enjoyed the rockfish. Under the "Sunday special" (3 courses, 33 dollars), we then enjoyed dessert. Wife loved the creme brûlée while the key lime pie suited me quite well. Service was excellent. Had leftovers of mains and dessert which we took home and enjoyed yesterday. In short, Bluestone remains consistently well above average."

  • "Great ambience and excellent service. Eaten here several times for lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. Great for special occasions, anniversaries, confirmations, birthdays, etc. Very versatile seating layout. Has bar/lounge area, quiet/special occasion dinning, group dinning and patio/terrace area. Very pleased and each guest of my dinning various parties enjoyed everything about the restaurant."

  • "A complete surprise! Didn't think a "relatively-out-of-the-way" place would be just so ideal for our trip to Baltimore. We WILL be back."

  • "Had a great meal at Bluestone and while it's no longer on the menu, Tuna Two Ways, is still available if you ask for it. Learned that the last time we dined at Bluestone and had it again. Ordered it rare and it came to the table well done without a hint of red but the server quickly took it back and brought out one done just right. Two of the others in the party also had Tuna Two Ways and theirs was rare as ordered when served. Mine was gluten free (less the glaze) and perhaps that caused the confusion but it was quickly taken care of. Great new spring arugula salad along with other items on the menu!"

  • "Bluestone has always been my 'go to' restaurant. I just love it there.....except for the last Thursday. Chilean sea bass, no taste. Scallops, no taste. Very disappointing. I always eat the salmon but decided to try something else. Bad move. Wine was excellent."

  • "I (we), dine out quite abit, at least once a week. Traveling to Havre De Grace, Bel Air, Jarretsville and Baltimore City. To date, we have never been disappointed with the service or more importantly, the food at Blue Stone. Superbly prepared and served HOT. Something you might consider a No Brainer, but quite often. The food is warm. We have invited several of our freinds to join us at the Blue Stone, and all have left with having an enjoyable and saticfying experience."

  • "We went to a late dinner and decided to just get Oysters and a few appetizers. We were not disappointed the oysters were quite large and the sauce that came with the Calamari was delicious. It was a filling meal and reasonably priced. The waiters were very polite and timely and the Manager was friendly and welcoming."

  • "Was greeted by an asst server and given water - full party was not present. After the rest of the party arrived, no one came back and we had to ask for a waiter, who had been busy tallying his day business. (day vs night service) No drink list available with suggestions or prices. Thought cost of Margarita made with gold tequila was overpriced."

  • "The Bluestone Restaurant though located off the main road offered a great menu with lots of variety. The food and service were excellent. The restaurant is very open and offered several different areas for your dining. We had dinner with friends in the Terrace dining room which I would highly recommend. There is a decent bar and lounge area that was a nice place to meet and have a drink with our friends prior to dinner."
