Bluehourearly diningWe ate at 5pm when there were very few diners. Because of that, we got extra attention from the waiters and the noise level was very low. Afterwards we had a great walk around the Pearl.
Highly recommend dinning there early.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLived up to the reputationWe had heard of Bluehour being a great venue for dinner, and were not disappointed. The location, ambience, service, and food all were excellent (the selection wasn't awe inspiring, but they did a great job with what they offered). The best part about the night was the service. My wife wasn't feeling great (bad timing), and our server - Kris - bent over backwards to make sure she was comfortable. From mixing up a soda/bitters concoction, to adapting some of the food to accommodate the situation, Kris was a perfect gentleman, and earned a lot of points with his charm and caring attitude.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat and consistentHaving just returned from NYC, the comparison with restaurants there was inevitable. The winner: Bluehour, hands down. Tastiness of food, presentation, ambiance, service - it was sooo good to be home. We did the June $30 menu and were not disappointed with anything.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic June 3-Course SpecialHighly recommend the June 3-course dinning month special. Every course was wonderful... especially the salmon. And our waiter, Adam, provided excellent service and great wine recommendations.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMReally enjoyed the June DiningReally enjoyed the June Dining Month Special. Others in my party ordered from the regular menu and had fabulous meals.
Excellent service - spacious interior.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything GreatIt was so nice to sit at an outside table and enjoy spring time in Portland. Food was great and service was impeccable! Went here for my girlfriend's birthday dinner and it was a joy!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMVery satisfiedMy fiance and I loved this place--the food was excellently prepared and the ambiance was wonderful.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experienceWe were visiting Portland for the weekend and based on online reviews, decided to try the Bluehour. We arrived early for our reservation and so we had a drink and appetizer at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and gave us some good advice about various dishes on the menu. We had a great time - food and drinks were excellent and the final bill was very reasonable.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMSimple and elegantI came to Bluehour with my husband for our anniversary. They have a very extensive wine list, and their menu full of delicious, seasonal items. We decided on a cheese platter to start which I highly recommend; I ordered the roasted chicken, and he ordered the pork chop. They were both delicious. The restaurant was a great temperature - for once I wasn't too cold. The waitstaff, overall, was attentive.
I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. The music wasn't too loud, which seems to be kind of a thing in Portland lately. We wanted a place where we could talk while we ate, and Bluehour delivered. The whole restaurant is simple, beautiful, and elegant, without being pretentious. I would absolutely go back.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMlongtime dinersFood was very good. Usual Bluehour fine service. Salad portions at all time smallness fo 12 bucks.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMLiked EverythingGood bar, great menu, great food, great service. I will definitely go back.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMQuiet early dinner before a playMy wife and I had an absolutely outstanding dinner before a play at the Portland Center Stage. A wonderful appetizer of very lightly done fritto mista with halibut cheeks and broccoli, main dish of perfectly done panseared petrale sole over some asparagus and small potatoes, and for dessert a flourless chocolate torte topped with "butter flavored popcorn" ice cream, no less! A light, very good and reasonably priced nebbiolo wine accompanied our dinner. A perfect early dinner on a very pleasant spring evening and then a short walk to the theater!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe will definitely be backWe will definitely be back and bring ALL our summer guests! Excellent food, attentive, professional service, quiet, beautiful ambiance puts this at the top of our favorite restaurants in Portland. Thank you for a wonderful evening on Saturday.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was incredible, andThe food was incredible, and the drinks were so yummy!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful Evening at BluehourWe had a delightful and enjoyable evening at Bluehour. Our table for 5 was a perfect round size. The service was very attentive but at a nice pace. The halibut check appetizer was fantastic. The Tardiva salad was a fresh NW style salad with a nice touch with the addition of crisp egg. The entrees were all excellent, from the sole, to the pasta, to the rabbit loin. The desserts were a perfect end to our meal. Two of us shared a Pinot as recommended by our waiter and was a nice complement to our meal. To be honest I was also quite pleased by the moderate price of the meal for 5 that included wine and drinks. Highly recommend for groups of 4 to 6.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBluehour is always a solidBluehour is always a solid choice for a very nice dinner and great atmosphere.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat menuWonderful menu choices all in season. The "rib of the ribeye" was perfectly prepared and delicious.
We keep coming back to Bluehour because of consistently good good, great ambience and exceedingly attentive wait staff. Bluehour is a great choice for a special occasson dinner, but also as a spur of the moment decision, which will tun am am otherwise normal evening into one that is memorable.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMVery great experience overall.Very great experience overall.
