BluegrassOne of my best meals ever!Everything about our dinner at Bluegrass was perfect. Attentive wait staff with a sense of humor, great martinis and excellent food. We had the brisket taster and the spicy orange shrimp appetizers- both outstanding and one in my party almost changed her dinner order because the brisket was so tender and delicious. Two of us had the soft shell crab sautéed in garlic and they could not have been better- prepared perfectly. Top all of that off with 2 excellent dessert minis and the evening was complete.

It was a busy Saturday evening, we had to wait about 15 minutes even with a reservation. A complimentary popcorn chicken appetizer was sent to the table, and we also had the mushroom broil, artichoke fritters, and szechwan calamari. All very tasty, not greasy, delicious.
We had the jambalaya and half slab of ribs, the penne pasta, and the vegetarian noodle bowl. All were outstanding for flavor and taste. Really loved the food.
For dessert, we had the bananas foster and ice box pie. Another round of outstanding food.
We will be back. Our waitress was fantastic, always had the waters and ice teas filled. Love this place.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best service I've encounteredThe best service I've encountered in a long time, so much so that I asked if they were a new restaurant. Food was very flavorful, although the jumbalaya was not as spicy as my husband would have preferred. One odd thing - they brought us a piece of bread pudding for dessert (very good, BTW) without our asking, then charged us a reduced price for it. Huh? If you're going to gift someone, gift them.

Our party ordered the grouper, the petit filet, soft shell crabs, and skirt steak; all were outstanding. The place is relaxed and friendly and the food, outstanding. Seasonal dishes like soft-shell crab and copper river salmon are melt in your mouth delicious as well as the Louisiana Blackened Grouper, Tilapia Sasafras, and Jambalaya. Order the baked-beans with peanut brittle as a side. You can't go wrong. Be sure to save room for dessert. You can't go wrong with the taster size of the chocolate three way, banana foster or for those who prefer to drink desert the chocolate mini martinis or even banana foster martini. The staff could not have been more attentive with the chef also coming by to congratulate my daughter, As to the food, perfect attention to detail and taste. we could not have asked for more. I ordered tilapia and it was $23 with no salad and an okay amount of food. I am a woman and finished the whole dish and could have eaten more. My friend ordered the rosemary chicken sandwich, which did come with a salad, for $11. Not sure why sandwiches come with salads and entrees don't. The food is consistently go, and in general, the service is excellent. This visit was the exception. Our waiter was virtually non-existent and I was embarassed as I took out of town guests for a great dining experience. Though the Bluegrass is not in our area, it was close to the gardens. We had to change the reservation time and they were very accomodating. We didn't know what to expect and were very pleasantly surprised. I have traveled extensively throughout the South and love BBQ. This place stands tallamongst the best. I particularly like their sauce which is a hybrid from Texas and the Carolinas. Their sampler is for a hearty appetite; all great! The first time we had the more traditional brisket and ribs which were amazing, but this time we decided to go with some of the specials. The service was great and the food was phenomenal.
