Bluefin Seafood BistroGreat first experience! This was my first time at Bluefin and I went with a friend for my birthday. We sat at the bar first for a drink and ended up eating at the bar. Liz, the bartender, was amazing!
Thanks to her (and the lobster of course!) we are guests for life!
Thank you for making my birthday so special!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat DinnerDined with friends - left kids at home with babysitter! Great food & wine. Two of our table of 4 had the lobster special, which was terrific. Nice, friendly service and delicious food.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistent good food and serviceHadn't been here in awhile and went back for a birthday celebration with a friend. Service was excellent and the good was great. My fish was cooked perfectly and the lobster sauce was a great complement. My friend loved the chowder and the shrimp scampi. As time progressed, the restaurant was full and noise level increased but not overbearing. The restaurant is upstairs and there is a bar downstairs. There is outdoor seating that is pleasant depending on the weather.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful anniversary celebrationBlue Fin has wonderful food prepared superbly! The staff is very friendly and on top of every detail. Our plates were quietly whisked away within 15 seconds of finishing our food (and we cleaned our plates!). There was enough activity to feel like others were enjoying their evening, too...but it was quiet enough to easily carry on a conversation. The dining room and balcony and patio off the bar overlook the beautiful courtyard and fountain. We'll definitely be back!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for seafood in TucsonThe oysters are fantastic - bit pricy though - $2.75 per piece,no dozen price. They always have decent fresh daily catch. Excellant service.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have an annual luncheonWe have an annual luncheon to celebrate one of the guests birthdays this time of year. We made the reservation some molnths ago, which is a benefit of Open Table. We asked for a quiet table because we knew we would be at the table for a couple hours. The hostess acknowledge the request and seated us perfectly. Our waiter was excellent, the food was prepared as we ordered and we were allowed to sit and talk over the dessert cake for the 'birthday' boy. It was a lovely luncheon that began at 11:45 and ended at 2:45. The luncheon truly was perfect.
I love coming a bit later, sitting at the bar eating oysters and well made drinks. Their dinners are speciial and I have quite often either hosted a small group or been invited to dinner. Special!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMPlenty of good fish in this seaAs a repeat visitor, the high quality and consistency of the establishment is evident. This was a busy evening, so the service occasionally lagged but was unflaggingly cordial and helpful. We all enjoyed our food--perhaps there could have been more mussels?--well prepared, fresh and flavorful. Lots of reasons to return yet again.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat birthday dinnerI love their sister restaurant Kingfisher but this was my first time at Bluefin. We went for my birthday and had a lovely meal. We tried the bay scallop ceviche, steamed clams, fish and chips, salads, and the chocolate cake and cheesecake. I also tried a Monsoon off the cocktail menu, and a glass of pinot noir. Everything was delicious! We especially noted the clams, my cocktail, the fries, and the cheesecake were exceptional. The only item my husband didn't love was his mojito, which he said was just ok. He liked the kingfisher lager though. Service was friendly, prompt, and the server was helpful with wine selection. We are definitely returning soon to try the lobster!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Seafood RestaurantFood is always good here. Service is excellent! Enjoy a nice dinner for two or with friends out.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday lunchTook mom for her birthday and we had a very nice time. Food was excellent and the server was able to get us the calamari appetizer that isn't normally on lunch menu. Great service and food! Try the lobster roll5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMEncantoMy first time there and I will definitely come back, highly recommend it to everyone, my barman/waitress was great knew exactly what we wanted. Great food, wine and setting for a first date. I loved it!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMUpscale location great foodNow the high season is over it was easy to get a table. Service was friendly an accommodating. The fish was very well prepared!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesomeLove this place! Great ambiance and stellar food. Probably my favorite place in Tucson for fresh seafood, which is not exactly easy to find in the desert. Nice service, good wine list and beautiful bar/patio make this place a Tucson treasure.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBlue Fin is consistently goodI have been to Blue Fin on several occasions over the past few years. The upstairs seating is very pleasant, simple, understated, slightly formal. The service has always been good, attentive and appropriate. The food is good quality, fairly classic, not too adventurous, but well-prepared.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous Seafood Spot!We picked Bluefin having never been there. We were celebrating UA graduation. We are huge seafood and wine lovers. All 7 of us had amazing meals! The mussels and clams appetizers were delicious! Sea Bass and Scampi dishes were outstanding. Just light enough and filled with flavor. Great Pinots too! Bluefin will become our "go-to" seafood spot in Tucson from now on!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMSeafood DelightIf you enjoy good seafood don't hesitate to book here. We have eaten here twice so far this vacation and plan to return. On each occasion our chosen dishes demonstrated their inventive preparation of fresh produce which has then been cooked to perfection. Not what we expected in the midst of Tuscon. This restaurant would compete comfortably with others we have visited on the west and east coast. Just without the price tag and pretention that can sometimes go with those locations. Service was friendly and informative without being overbearing.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMQuote from my wife, "maybeQuote from my wife, "maybe the best seafood dish I have ever had"4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother outstanding meal atAnother outstanding meal at Bluefin. Highly recommend the crab cake appetizer, which we always get. Hard to find better ones anywhere. My special was the arctic char, which they expertly grilled for me rather than cooking it in the suggested sauce. Service was outstanding throughout the evening.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique find in the desertExcellent seafood and fish are very (very) hard to find in our "fresh frozen" world of the Southwest. We have been many times to the Bluefin and its sister Kingfisher, and have never had any offering that's not delicious, fresh and memorable. Their Oysters Rockerfeller are to die for, the Hawaiian preparation is always delicate and yummy, as are the fish and chip and all their daily specials. The New England Chowder, although not classic, as it is spiced with extra thyme, smoky bacon and other flavors, goes down real easy too. You can't go wrong. Little tables allow you to eat outdoors in nice weather. I always to, but companions seem hooked on a.c. (too bad.)4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat RestaurantA wonderful dining experience. The fried squid and the sea bass were some of the best I've ever had. Desserts are great. This is now one of our "must do" restaurants whenever we are in Tucson.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat menu. I had the lobsterGreat menu. I had the lobster roll-it was pretty tasty and the fries that accompanied it were outstanding. Recommended.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had Sea Bass and LobsterWe had Sea Bass and Lobster which were both excellent along with a glass of very good Argentine wine.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWent with a group of 10, weWent with a group of 10, we all enjoyed our meals. Steamed clams & mussels were in an excellent broth. The New England clam chowder was good, but a little thicker than i care for, still good, but i prefer the real new england clam chowder, less like wallpaper paste and more thin, milky, and buttery, but it was good, just different. Guess they don't really know how to make "true" new england clam chowder. Having lived in Boston for 6 years, this isn't it.
Everyone in the party enjoyed their meals! Service was good. Have eaten here 6-7 years ago, and have frequented their other restaurant Kingfisher many times, and never had a bad meal at either.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBluefin is a great place toBluefin is a great place to have an anniversary dinner. Quiet, good food, and excellent service. We don't dine there often, but try to on special occassions.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI would have liked to haveI would have liked to have seen scallops on the menu. Did not see them listed but the crab cake and the salmon we had were delicious as was the spinach(imagine). Two cakes would have been better than the small portion of one!
Simply delightfully relaxing and delicious.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed our visit to BlueFinWe enjoyed our visit to BlueFin very much.
We were somewhat annoyed to have to wait fifteen minutes beyond our reservation time before being seated. Otherwise a great evening.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMService and ambiance wereService and ambiance were outstanding. Food was excellent except the fish and chips. The fish didn't have much flavor and the coating was mushy rather than crisp. But I still highly recommend the place . . . just don't order the fish and chips.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMStaff was wonderful!! Attentive,Staff was wonderful!! Attentive, knowledgable and we were able to adjust our reservation time last minute! Thank you!!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe seafood is very freshThe seafood is very fresh and prepared perfectly. The boulibaise had lots of fish and the broth was delightful. The arctic chard was cooked perfectly even for someone who likes their fish slightly under done. The wine list was a little short but a good selection. Services was very attentive but not intrusive.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOther than a rather obnoxiousOther than a rather obnoxious Maitre D" everything was near perfect..The Peruvian cerviche was excellent, had TWO crab cakes as main ourse. Nice bottle of New Zealand Malborough Country wine. .We would go back3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMReally good seafood selectionReally good seafood selection and preparing, will go back again2/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food, Spotty ServiceWe were once again pleased with the quality of the food; I would have to rate it as excellent, but unfortunately Open Table doesn't provide that category. I would particularly recommend the crab cake appetizer, a staple on the menu, which we order every time. The New England clam chowder is also up there with the best. The large, succulent blackened scallops, I believe a newish entree, should be ordered before they disappear. Lacking, though, are quality wines by the glass. It would be nice to have superpremium options, for which I would be willing to pay more. Service also needs to improve. That every important first drink arrived way too slowly, as did our second half bottle of wine.2/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. I have no ideaGreat food. I have no idea what I ate, but it was FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11/28/2012 12:00:00 AM
