We decided on Blue Water for my sister's 19th birthday. Service was great however there was a huge wait (45 minutes) after we're done our appetizer before the main course arrived. We were a group of 7 so maybe that had something to do with it. 3/7 of us got the beef short rib and it was just too salty. My steak tenderloin was done perfect. My brother got the stable fish and said it was amazing. The presentation of the food is beautiful especially the Blue Water Cafe Tower. :)

My friend and I decided to treat yourselves to a special evening - Blue Water Cafe definitely delivered on that expectation! We shared the seafood tasting platter for two which was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I had the Char and my friend had the Lin Cod for our mains. They were just as scrumptious! I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves seafood and is not afraid to pay a higher price for an exceptional dining experience.

Good selection of raw oysters, especially from the West Coast. Menu also carried decent selection of other seafood items. Service was slow. If anyone has been to Rodney's or Diana's Seafood in Toronto, they would see that Blue Water Cafe pales in comparison. One noteworthy item to try is the smoked salmon terrine. Been here, no need to try again.

This restaurant was recommended to us when we dined the evening before at its sister restaurant, CinCin, and the similarities were apparent. Nice attention to detail, nice ambience, excellent service, and delicious food. The bar also looked very inviting, although we didn't get a chance to return to enjoy it, but it was very attractive, had fresh breadsticks, and ample, uncrowded seating. Will definitely return here on a future trip.

We have gone to BW every time we visit Vancouver in the past 3 years and have never been disappointed. This time we opted for multiple small plates and raw bar options and liked that approach best of all because we got to sample many things, all of which were memorable. Yea!

We chose Blue Water Cafe because of all the outstanding reviews it received but I have to say I was a bit disappointed. The service was great - the waiter recommended an outstanding white wine that I would not have chosen otherwise. I had halibut and my husband had the cod. The portion sizes were not large, which we expected. The vegetables and the sauce were delicious and the fish was well-cooked but the fish itself did not have much flavour. It was a bit disappointing considering what you pay.

On a recent weekend date with my wife we came to Vancouver to see some sights and eat some great seafood. The food was excellent and the service was dare I say even better. We had lots of questions regarding local wines and local seafood. The server was very knowledgeable and had great advise for our dining experience. One of our all time greatest dining experiences.

This was our second visit to the restaurant and it was btter than the first. An engagemnt was celebrated and the staff helped make it memorable. The Blue Watre cafe tower was the centerpiece of the meal and was spectacular-varied, fresh, interesting. No entrees were order but 2 appetizers were-scallops, and pork cheeks. These were not at the same level as the Tower. ALos would have liked more non-seafood appetizer choices. Dessert were lovely. Service was attentive but not intrusive. We know we will return again and again.

Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly; the food was sublime as usual. We started with the dungeness crab salad, a tuna carpaccio, a calamari and a mushroom salad--so good! Then my three friends ordered black cod, sablefish and the special of the day, a halibut as they thought they may have too much to eat--well they polished off every single morsel on their plates as everything was superb. I had the short rib which is a dish one must try! Melts in your mouth! Guess what? We ordered the sorbet trio--kalamansi, raspberry and white peach; plus a macaroon with raspberry icecream. Great culinary evening.

We ordered Blue water tower. At first we got very excited how they made it, but as we tasted them, I thought , I was expected bit more than this. It was ok, most of dipping sauce were tasty, but we felt all the seafood weren't fresh, some of them we could tell that they were in the fridge for long time. and each sea food itself weren't that tasty. (so maybe that's why there were the dipping sauces?) so, if I think about the quality of fish, they were too expensive for that taste.

I really enjoyed the food and presentation. The seafood was cooked impeccably! I love wine and find it difficult to choose when there is a grand list, but he wine that the server recommended was amazing! I went at 8:30 pm and was starving but we had reservations and were seated promptly. I felt like we were greeted right away, but the server was busy with a neighboring table so it felt like a long time before we were asked for what we wanted to drink. I also had to wait for a wine menu because there wasn't one brought with the hostess. Overall, the food was phenomenal. I would love to say it was worth it, but I don't have the wallet to justify it. I will say, it's the best cooked seafood in the city!

We loved the restaurant. Fun area of town. Great Menu. I would skip the Ceviches....too much going on in them. I know they wanted to do their own take on ceviche but, it was too sweet and felt like they tried to hard. The fish get lost in it. That is what is great about ceviche...simplicity. The scallop appetizer was nice and Sablefish was cooked perfectly. Miso marinade seems to be the craze in Vancouver right now (saw it at 3 restaurants). Nice flavor.

The food here was excellent and the service good. The seafood plateau was very good, especially the oysters, the scallop ceviche and the jellyfish. The main courses were also excellent, and the molten chocolate dessert was happily devoured. I realize this is a high end restaurant, but I found the wine list somewhat lacking in the moderately priced, lighter reds that I prefer.

We are seafood lovers and were really looking forward to this second visit but it was disappointing. Enjoyable but not outstanding as expected (having been impressed by Roy's in various locations in the US since last visit), maybe because we ordered the daily specials (golden trout and halibut) and not tried and true menu selections. Even the roast red pepper homous type spread that came with bread wasn't that good, and the tuna carpaccio starter was bland. Did enjoy the swimming scallops starter though. Service was excellent and we thoroughly appreciated our efficient, professional and informative server, and speedy delivery of everything without asking.

I met my parents in Vancouver for the weekend and I had been scouting out your restaurant for about a year from Seattle before I moved to BC to go to University. You did not disappoint! Absolutely everything was divine. Each bite was perfection, every detail was accounted for. Our waiter helped us select the perfect bottle of wine for the meal and helped us make decisions on the menu (I could not decide for the life of me -- I wanted everything but we eventually settled on some excellent choices). Thank you for the incredible dining experience - I will definitely be back ASAP. Cheers!
