Our dinner and service were excellent! We appreciated the well priced wine list and the number of wines that were available by the glass - especially good for a small plates restaurant where you want to try a few different items! This has become one our favorite places!

Went to see a showing of Cats and wanted an early dinner before the show. This place is a gem in the middle of a department store. Wine list is impeccable and the food is great in varietal proportions no carry out box is needed.

Very good food, though the overall experience was mediocre at best. Our reservation was for the last seating at 8:00 P.M. The restaurant and mall close at 9:00 P.M., which made for a rushed and uncomfortable dinner. (We left at 9:15 and employees were waiting in the store for us to leave.) The wine selection was minimal and the bottle we ordered was not presented; the server simply brought wine and began pouring for the table. Probably great if you need to grab a bite while shopping, but I wouldn't suggest intentionally going here for a meal.

Our dining experience was great. However, one must watch what the other one is ordering, reason being your bill at the end of the night can be a shocker. Food was good, service was excellent choices were great.

Very cool little restaurant...too bad they won't seat you after 8 p.m. You enter through Nordstom, which closes at 9:00 p.m., so they need to get you out by around 9:00. If you don't mind dining early, try it!

We were there for Mother's day lunch. The plates of food are relatively smaller than other restaurants. But they taste really great and good enough probably for ladies and best for lunch.

Blue Stove is a fun addition to the Thousand Oaks dining scene. Sharing small plates is the perfect discussion activity for friends. It's also a great place to bring kids and get them to try new foods without a big investment. Lots of fun.

  • While seated in this nicely
    OpenTable Diner Since 2005

While seated in this nicely decorated restaurant with its romantic mood lighting, it's easy to forget that we're on the second floor of a Nordstrom department store. Until I spot women's wear through the entry way. The idea of offering small bites, much like tapas, is interesting. There are no entrees. So we ordered a total of seven dishes to share. Some were nice, some quite good, a couple were absolute standouts. The braised short ribs, for example, is now my standard. Even the bread is quite good. We shared a very good, reasonably priced bottle of Malbec, and our server convinced us to finish with the macadamia tart, which was everything she promised - another standard. All in all a nice find.

What a surprise! The chef has it going on. Trust your server and order 2 to 3 plates per person and enjoy. The carmel chicken soup can be skipped but we ordered 11 other items plus sweets at the end and enjoyed it all.

This is an excellent restaurant. I have 3 friends who have eaten there recently and they all want to go back for their birthday lunches. I even treated my husband for dinner there and he loved it! A find!
