The food was good. We had several small plates, tapas, that helps you control how much food you receive overall. It was close to home, a nice atmosphere, and the waitress was helpful. We will return to try other dishes.

Went to Blue Stove with my daughter. We had the sweet potato frites, chicken tacos, crab cakes and crème brulee with lemon curd & berries. We were here last year during the summer and had the most delicious watermelon and feta salad. It is no longer available. The sweet potato frites are a must. So delicious!! I have been frequenting Blue Stove for years since they first opened and this was the first time I was disappointed. The chicken tacos which have always been one of my favorites, seems to have different taco shells. They are not as good as they used to be. Also disappointing that they changed the banana crème brulee with chocolate sauce. The lemon curd doesn't go well with the brulee & there is less of it. We scraped ours off.

Who would have thought there would be a top notch restaurant nestled inside Nordrstrom? This is our third time and it was fantastic. The cod in miso sauce, the mushrooms and asparagus, the tomato salad with a reduced balsamic vinegar and the corn hash were utterly different and yet complementary. I strongly recommend all four. Each dish was beautifully prepared with a masterful understanding of the ingredients. I have a pet peeve about over-cooked asparagus: this was grilled to perfection. We scraped up every bit of the balsamic reduction. The corn hash was fresh-tasting. The cod melted in the mouth -- overworked cliche but true in this case. And then the butterscotch pot de creme! Book a table -- it gets busy!

Well curated menu of small but shareable and delectable dishes. Not to be missed are cilantro chicken tacos and crispy & spicy cherry glazed beef. They are both so delicious that we order them every time. The sweet potatoe frites with cilantro lime aoili are a great way to start your meal while sipping a glass of wine from a small but well priced and well thought out list. Blue Stove carries on Nordstrom's legendary quality and service that delights their retail customers. For a real treat, ask to be seated in front of the open kitchen.

First time at Blue Stove and I will be back! Wonderful service, made great suggestions and checked in with us without being pushy. Forgot I was sitting in a department store. You can watch the chefs make the food too. All around great experience! Lime tacos and the scallops with risotto was great.

I've been to Blue Stove many times and have never had a dish I didn't like. The portions are small, even for small plates, but full of flavor. The salads are very fresh and inventive. There is a nice selection of dishes in all categories. This is one of my favorite places to go with my girlfriends, and even my elderly mother likes it. The only downside is that the servers don't seem to be that helpful with food or wine selections, I think they need to be better trained in the menu and wine list.

Didn't realize the Nordstrom's store had this restaurant! I had the scallops and they were delicious -- smaller plate than a restaurant but was enough. Very flavorful olive oil, the best I have had with the bread. Enjoyed my glass of Pinot Noir, poured on the more generous side, thank you, while waiting for my friend.

Food is not fresh; you can tell the garlic chicken was reheated via microwave a few hours later; the wings were frozen because the chicken wing meat was not fresh and the chopped vegetable salad's corn and vegetables were DEFINITELY from a frozen package. Service is not professional; our waitress needed to shower and clean up (you're serving FOOD, please look like your SWEAT and DIRT are not falling into my food). In addition, the bus boys and different waiters and waitresses would try to grab our plates when the plate was half full-- do they not understand that Blue Stove is a small plate restaurant? We were still working on it...

She was quite impressed - did not expect such good food at a department store restaurant. We both had the chicken tacos, and they were delicious, as always. Small plates are just the right size. We each had a glass of Proseco as well, and it was a lovely dinner.

I have been here a few times with my husband for lunch and just recently with a dear old friend. The food has always been consistently delicious, is well priced and portions are a nice size for 1 or to share and taste. I find it to be a nice change of pace from the other restaurants in the mall and a wonderful place for a delicious light bite, glass of wine or cocktail and conversation.

The Blue Stove in Nordstrom at the Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks serves a large variety of tapas. Each tapas plate is perfect for sharing by two or three people. Our group of four ordered a total of eight plates, and the amount was just right. Sharing and comparing favorites was fun. All agreed that the risotto was our favorite and the mini-tacos were the runner-up. All the dishes were well-prepared and tasty. The bill was $100 without alcohol. Reservations are advisable. We arrived before 6 on a Saturday night. By the time we left at 7 the place was full.

Who would think a store would have a restaurant that serves such delicious food? Well yes, it is Nordstrom so it's probably not that surprising but honestly, everything I've had at the Blue Stove has been completely yummy. My favorite is the Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos. Then there's the Ricotta Meatballs, and Sweet Potato Fries with killer Cilantro Aioli, Arugula Salad with Parmesan Polenta Croutons...You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

The beet or vegetable salad is a great first course, both delicious. The short rib sliders excellent. The cherry glazed beef is a favorite, although we found it a bit dry this visit. Black Cod is superb, salt and pepper calamari crunchy. The skirt steak is also a nice beef choice. Both mushroom dishes are quite flavorful. The wine by the glass list is interesting. The atmosphere is darkish, but gives a nice upscale feel - you forget you are dining inside Nordstrom! Our server, Kristen, was great although some training seems prudent - once a diner has a glass of white wine and then orders a different, red wine - the server should always put it in a new, clean glass. So the service isn't as polished, yet we found it delightful.

We had a few frequent diners with our group of 8 who knew what to order so that we could maximize the number of taste sensations. From the spicy chicken lettuce cups and black cod with miso to the sweet potato fries and risotto it was all delicious. We ordered two of each item so that everyone could sample a bit - we ordered a lot, ate a lot and left very happy. Having a larger group is a bonus (make reservations for larger groups, the restaurant was packed). The atmosphere is dark, noisy and energetic. Lots of tables were using their flashlight apps to read the menu

After reading the reviews I thought I would stop here while driving thru town with my daughter...... The plates come as they are ready so my daughters came first...... It was meatballs and it was pretty good... Then came our calamari on a plate that was about 5 inches ( kind of like a olive oil & vinegar sized plate ).... The calamari was small in size hard and very over cooked.... Then lastly came my chicken tacos.... Wow! Small small small...... Same small plate and very little ground chicken under a bunch of lettuce...... Was not at all impressed with the food, the lack of professional attention from the staff..... What a let down!

Green beans cooked perfectly with tasty sauce. Cod dish was tasty, but tiny, tiny, tiny portion (probably two small bites). Fries were good, but again, very small portion and it shouldn't have been. Fries are fries-give a little bit more, please. Mushroom dish was tasty and the perfect tapas portion.Servers were friendly, but we had to ask to get water refills. When we asked for more bread the server stated that the 5 slices is the designated amount. I guess if we said we would pay for more, they would have brought out more bread. Really? Bread?Wine list was good. Had a good Pinot. The chefs know what they're doing which is essential. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again, but when hungry at Nordstroms I may try again to be fair.

After an excellent lunch, my friend and I, still talking, walked out of the restaurant into the main store. Unknowingly, I left my iPad behind on the seat of the booth! I had been showing my friend pictures on the iPad and hadn't put it back in my tote! I discovered my stupidity about 45 minutes later, in the parking lot. Panicked, I rushed back in. The busboy had it waiting for me. Naturally, I gave him a nice tip. I certainly will return to this good restaurant . Reflects well on Nordstrom's, too, a store that always puts its customers first.
