Blue Star Bistro & Wine BarBlue Star has a very goodBlue Star has a very good menu and bar with friendly servers. However the service was extremely slow. We had four people and were the only ones in the restaurant for most of our meal. The time between the courses was way too long.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my favoritesGreat menu with wonderful choices for sharing, delicious food, great service. Particularly loved the fried Nutella balls.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMA Nice SurpriseWe went to this restaurant because it was close to an event we were attending. What a surprise! I will definitely be back! I would definitely recommend the grits and the mushroom flatbread!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMG R E A T!This is our go-to when my boyfriend and I go out. We trek from Hyde Park that's how great it is. The service has never been anything but above wonderful. Cindy and Brendan are our favorite servers. Personable, not pushy, knowledgeable and fun.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMCleaned every plate!Had a WONDERFUL dinner at Blue Star last Wed night with a group of 6 girlfriends. We stuck with small plates, salads (which were pretty big!) and flatbreads. All the food was AMAZING! We enjoyed the Mac/Cheese, Croquetas, Bacon Wrapped Dates (twice), Scallops, Pear/Pistachio flatbread, Margharita flatbread, Squash salad and asparagus salad. Honestly - we devoured everything. The portions are decent for sharing (ex: Croquetas had 3 golf ball size goat cheese croquetas). We finished off with the fried nutella - decadent. It was very good value, too. For all the food, plus a couple glasses of wine each, we threw in $40 a piece for the night. I would definitely recommend Blue Star for a fun night out with a group or a Date Night!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe celebrated my friend'sWe celebrated my friend's birthday at Blue Star. Dinner was exceptionally good, wine was perfect, and at the end my friend got a bday surprise -delicious dessert with a candle! I am definitely going back to the restaurant!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMI was hoping for more patronsI was hoping for more patrons to be dining along with us, but overall food was great. My friend and I shared the wild mushroom flatbread, bacon wrapped dates, scallops, and shrimp. The wine selection was also great, although I only had a Cabernet. I will definitely return, maybe on a weekend when there are other diners around :-)4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent asThe food was excellent as well as the wine. The service, however, was a bit slow considering how quiet they were that evening.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden gem! Friendly staffHidden gem! Friendly staff and impressive menu. Went there for a dinner out with a group of girlfriends and we were able to enjoy wine flights, a wonderful dinner, AND could hear each other talk (we went on a Thursday night). Some of the entrees on the menu were on the pricey side (sea scallops, steak, etc), but there is a wide selection and it also includes half salads and flatbread pizzas which were very affordable (yummy chorizo pizza). Be sure to order their nutella balls for dessert!!! Sooo good.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to Blue Star forI have been to Blue Star for Valentine's Day, a family dinner and dinner with friends, and each time they blow us away more. The service is incredible, we have never had any bad experiences here. The one time that our salad did take a little long to come out, we barely even realized because the live music and conversation was so great.
It is off the beaten path, but well worth the trip out there. Great wine, an extensive list, and knowledgeable servers.
So good.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you are looking for a rareIf you are looking for a rare find that's serving up good eats at great prices. Then look no further. I purchased a YouSwoop deal that allowed me to try a few of their small plates. I found that the food was delicious and the service was superb. I listened as a few other new diners raved about their food. Shortly thereafter, I joined in the fun. Sizzling garlic shrimp, pan seared sea scallops, roasted risotto, and bacon wrapped dates. Finish that off with some wild berry sorbet and lace the whole meal with subtle hints of a lavendar martini. I promise, your tastebuds will do a dance. From one foodie to another, I encourage you to check it out. You'll be glad you did. I'll definitely be back.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
