  • Entertainment: The back bar was built in Brunswick, New York circa 1860 and transported to Denver, and then by wagon to Black Hawk, Colorado, where it was once part of the Royal Flush Saloon. The bar was brought from Black Hawk in some thirty-odd pieces and reassembled here in the Blue Spruce Inn. We have live entertainment on weekend evenings.

The menu is very good, the service was great and the food was outstanding. two of us had the prime rib the queens are very generous and delicious. Another person had the elk medallions and really enjoyed them. A fourth person had the salmon oscar and it was outstanding. I would recommend are any of these to anyone. This was all topped off by a cozy western ambience."

  • "We first dined here about 30 years ago. This was our 3rd time here. I know this has to be different ownership? but the quality is still the same. We are from Ks. hence the few times here. I had the filet and lobster and my wife had the trout. Our meals were cooked to perfection with service to match. Good wine and vodka tonic pour. Right on Main St in downtown Frisco."

  • "Went to the Blue Spruce Inn for Mother's Day dinner. The restaurant was almost empty because it was mud season. But the food was good and the ambience was nice. We were seated right by the fireplace. Beautiful presentation of food. We did order mussels that were not quite hot enough but still had great flavor. They had a dinner for two option that was a great deal: appetizer, 2 filets with lobster tails, dessert and $20 towards wine for $95. Also, had a gluten free menu which was nice. "

  • "Good place to eat - we asked around when we got into Frisco and this was one that came up that would have a good steak/potatoes meal. We both ordered steak (one with lobster, one with crab legs), and both meals were good and well seasoned. Tables are close to each other, so the cranky neighbors next to us took away from the ambiance, but overall good location."

  • "We had a wonderful experience at the Blue Spruce Inn. We were a group of nine and got the opportunity to sit upstairs next to the closet where the "ghost" resides. We felt like we had the undivided attention of our server James and were entertained by him all evening. The food was delicious and served promptly - not easy for a group. Definitely will come back."

  • "We really enjoyed the Blue Spruce Inn restaurant. We first sat by the fireplace and had drinks in the bar. Our waitress was excellence and our food was very good. Our only complaint was that it took about 40 minutes for our food to arrive after we ordered. According to the waitress, our order came in behind a large group. All in all, we really enjoyed the meal and we will go back."

  • "Over the years we have frequented the Blue Spruce Inn. This is a place for special occassions, to enjoy a wonderful meal. However, our latest visit was disappointing. We both ordered the 8oz prime rib, cooked medium. It came to us "medium well". I did not report the overcooked meal to our server, I should have. The tomato basil soup was outstanding! Next visit I will make sure that our meal is prepared as ordered."

We both had the roast duck with a sweet chipotle sauce and it was excellent. Finished off with an amazing raspberry bread pudding. The staff was warm and welcoming."

The menu has some very affordable options for full meals for $20 and others where you could spend a pretty penny on steaks and lobsters etc. The orange Chipotle slow roasted duck was fantastic! Moist and very tasty. My filet with crab and Bearnaise was fine, but lacked seasoning. The sauteed green beans were great though. The wine list was sufficent and enough options by the glass. The beer list was limited and they only serve been on tap brewed by their sister restaurant in town Backcountry Brewery and my husband isn't a fan of their beers. Server was very hard working and entertaining. This was a busy Saturday on a holiday weekend, and I haven't seen anyone juggle tables like he did."

To say that we felt his condescending attitude was inappropriate would be an understatement. The waiter then followed us to the parking lot to complain about his tip."

  • "not for the service. My family of four had dinner at Blue Spruce Inn on a Thursday night. The entire staff seemed overwhelmed upon our arrival. We were seated quickly but had to wait 20 minutes for our waitress to take our drink order and then waited an additional 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We contemplated leaving at that point as several tables around us appeared to be having challenges. Fortunately the bread basket arrived fresh and piping hot and satiated our weary skiers. I'm glad we stayed because the food was excellent. We started with the mussels which were flavorful, fresh and perfectly cooked. The elk medallions were the highlight of the meal with amazing sauce. We also enjoyed the prime rib and New York special."

It's intimacy gives us a chance to dine in peace, reflect on the events of the past year, have a conversation without a lot of background noise. The Blue Spruce offers an atmosphere of class & welcomeness. The menu is sure to please any palette & the prices are rather reasonable. for the delicious selections served. I guess you could say, "We have a New Year's Tradition, at the Blue Spruce Inn"."

  • "My 11 year old son and I ate here last week. He had filet and I had a strip steak. BOTH meats were cooked perfectly. The desserts were great also. The only bad thing that happened was that the waiter asked us if we wanted a salad and we both said yes. But the waiter did NOT say that there was ANY charge for the salads - we probably would NOT have opted for one if we knew they were extra."

  • "Finding a table for a large group between Christmas and New Year was a challenge. Unique, good food and not too loud were our main criteria - Blue Spruce Inn fit the bill on all counts! The saloon style bar was a great "Coloradoan" atmosphere for our out-of-state guests to enjoy a cocktail before dinner. Food was delicious! All the men raved about their steaks and the women were thankful the portions were "just right". Will definitely go back next time we have another large group visiting!"

  • "We were seated by the fireplace in this lovely log restaurant. I had the prime rib, which was perfectly cooked and my husband had filet mignon. Both were delicious, as were the side dishes. For dessert, we shared a double chocolate mousse, with white and dark chocolates. I am not a fan of white chocolate, but the combination worked well. I found it a little sweet, probably from the white chocolate, but it was light and airy and over all, a real treat! The wait staff was friendly, but clearly very busy, as it was the holiday. We were not kept waiting, but they were hustling a bit. The noise level was moderate, well within my tolerance. I hate noisy restaurants. Holiday decor made the evening perfect. We hope we can return again, soon."
