  • "I've been to most of the BBQ spots in NYC and Blue Smoke is one of the best."
    Dined on 7/10/2014
  • "Consistently delicious food and really has some of the best service in NYC!"

  • "Ever since I have been going here from the last 12 years its always been very consistent. I had some clients who were visiting from Sweden, who were in the mood for ribs & bourbon, what better place to go than BLUE SMOKE."

  • "The food was incredible. The waitstaff were friendly. Overall just a great place for lunch"

  • "Love this place...great BBQ with great list of beers and a variety of mixed drinks. Great location!"

  • "Blue Smoke never disappoints. I do miss their cupcakes, which I believe are now produced off-site at their bakery on Vessey, but their applewood smoked chicken and pulled pork were the perfect Sunday "brunch" for 4th of July weekend."

  • "restaurant was lively and waiters, though not great, were friendly. Food was ok, drinks better. Found all varieties of ribs, ordered samplers and roast chicken too dry."

  • "In town with family including two teenage grandsons. Reservations were right on time. Service was excellent throughout evening. All six of us ordered something different and everyone raved about their meal. Good food excellent service and an enjoyable atmosphere. Definitely would recommend to anyone and will return on next visit to city."

  • "the food was amazing especially the fried chicken, but impressed by how nice they were to my 10 and 13 yo nieces - decorated their own cookies which they cooked and gave us to take, great service."
    Dined on 6/26/2014
  • "My friend and I both had chicken dishes (I had the apple smoked chicken with mashed potatoes and she had the fried chicken with mashed potatos) and we were both very impressed. It started to get really crowded by 7:30pm but the service was still great."

  • "Hadn't been here for a while. Menu has changed slightly. Need to increase appetizer, sides and salad selections. Food is good; certainly not noteworthy. Been better in past years. Had combo plate. Portions small. Brisket was bland. Ribs were delicious though. Waitress ha1d an outgoing personality. We advised her that one of our diners was a diabetic and repeatedly said to serve him his ribs dry, with no added sauce, which she said she'd do. Guess how they arrived? Slathered in BBQ sauce!!"

  • "We had a wonderful dinner visit at Blue Smoke on June 27th. Excellent, caring service and top level cuisine. My husband and I look forward to returning soon. The Kansas City ribs and Pulled Pork Platter were our if this world!"

  • "I took my family (self, wife, 2 adult daughters) for dinner on a trip to NYC as we had all enjoyed BBQ food so much on a long vacation in the South last year. We all had the Memphis baby back ribs, and they were superb. Service was good and the BlueSmoke ale great too. The prices were OK, so altogether a great meal!"
    Dined on 6/23/2014
  • "The service is very attentive and the food good. All the recommendations the waitress made were spot on"
    Dined on 6/23/2014
  • "This place rocks, simple as that! The food was amazing, I had the ribs and my wife had the brisket. Both were served by a really friendly and helpful team of guys. The cocktails were also out of this world! You HAVE to eat here! You won't be disappointed!"
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "Can't say you won't find better bbq anywhere, but Blue Smoke is fun!"
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "As usual Blue Smoke did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the servers are always so pleasant, no matter how busy they are. Still the best bananna cream pie in NY!!!"
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "Food was good. BBQ ribs, mac and cheese we solid. The place needs a refurb though. I get that it's a BBQ joint and decor is as such. But everything is looking a bit tired, dated and could all do with a refresh."
    Dined on 6/18/2014
  • "We have gone to this restaurant several times a year and the last visit will probably be our last. The service is still good, but the food was just not all that great. Perhaps there are too many rib places that Blue Smoke just doesn't hold the mystique it did when it first opened. But not one of the sides were worth eating. The coleslaw was bland and the mac & cheese was not even as good as Kraft mac & cheese. The only thing I still think is good is the BBQ potato chips with the Blue Cheese dip. Other than that, there are too many places to eat in this city so we will not be going back to Blue Smoke."

  • "What a wonderful neighborhood "find" for me (I'm new to the neighborhood...Blue Smoke is not). The food was delicious, cocktails were spot on, service was attentive without being intrusive, and all in all, a great meal was enjoyed. We will be back."
    Dined on 6/17/2014
  • "The place offers the best of everything -- starting with the food."
    Dined on 6/17/2014
  • "I brought my dad here for a Father's Day lunch. Since his kids were coming from upstate NY and lower NJ, we figured NYC was a nice central location, and how can you go wrong with BBQ? Last time I ate here was probably five years ago, and I'm glad to see that the service is still OUTSTANDING. Food was terrific, if not a bit on the pricey side, but certainly worth it. Would absolutely return."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "Went there for a early Father's Day dinner took my kids my husband and my in-laws. The kids enjoyed themselves very kids friendly. The waitress was very knowledgable and very attentive. She did a really great job. Before we left the restaurant I recommended blue smoke to a friend. I will definitely be back to enjoy the lovely food and drinks."

  • "We were visiting New York and had been here on a previous visit and had really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We were not disappointed on our return visit. Great service, very tasty food and lively atmosphere."

  • "My husband and I have enjoyed our past dinners at Blue Smoke, but we've noticed a marked decline in service and cuisine. Our cheerful server took our order and that was the last we saw of him. Various runners came by to ask if we needed anything. Finally, a lovely server took over. After delivering dessert, no further interaction. The food is still good, but portions are smaller and pricing is up. Then we made the mistake of ordering dessert: sour, out-of-season strawberries on a cardboard crust -- perhaps the worst thing I've ever been served at a Danny Meyer restaurant. Are they focusing more on the Jazz Standard crowd of beverage imbibers than for us foodies?"

  • "Call me crazy but when i think BBQ i think i think gut busting portions, though the food was delicious the amount of food was insulting for BBQ. Blue smoke It wouldn't kill you guys nor would it bankrupt you to pile a few more ounces of food on your customers plates, i came with a big appetite and was very disappointed when my entré looked more like an appetizer. Overall my dining experience was saved by the amazing staff who was very knowledgeable and helpful they made the experience a little more tolerable."
    Dined on 6/13/2014
  • "I had not been back in some time and I had a great experience. I got the rib sampler and it was delicious. I will be back again."
    Dined on 6/12/2014
  • "I had been here a few years ago and had a great meal. I guess things have changed. Three of us ordered ribs and the fourth ordered fried chicken. The chicken was the only passable part of the meal. For BBQ, Blue Smoke isn't on my list anymore."
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "We ate the brisket, pulled pork and macaroni and cheese meals. All the food was delicious. We also had the desserts as well and the chocolate cake was moist and yummy."
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "Great BBQ and very reasonable prices...but what sets this place apart is the staff. Our server was quick, responsive, and knowledgable. The place has a lot of energy and ambience. We walked out full, satisfied, and wanting more."
    Dined on 6/6/2014
  • "You can't go wrong with Blue Smoke. The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable. We had the baby back ribs. They were meaty, tender and tasty. The dining is casual. There is jazz club on site, as well."
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "There is meat on the bone but the flavor is missing. The BBQ potato chips were bland and the blue cheese dip was missing the blue cheese. I tried the rib sampler and the meat was not tough but tasted like it had been baked instead of smoked. The place is pretty pricey for no real benefit other than location."
    Dined on 6/5/2014
  • "Coming from the South, we had no expectations for a NY BBQ restaurant. We were wrong. From the fry bread 'appetizer' through the pulled pork to the root beer float for dessert, Blue Smoke delivered great food, friendly service, and an authentic ambiance. My only complaint was that it was far too easy to eat too much."

  • "We have eaten here many times over the years and they continue to rate high on our list. First, for a Manhattan restaurant, the room is spacious and the tables are not right on top of each other. Second, they are well staffed--helpful, energetic and ample to handle the room. Third, it's pretty darn great barbecue. We shared a selection of appetizers followed by ribs, brisket and pepper sausage. It was all delicious and the portions were perfect. We left determined to go back soon."

  • "Had a great experience here last Sunday night. Delicious drinks, amazing food. I ordered the Kansas City Spare Ribs, which were a perfect combination of spicy and sweet. We also ordered the cornbread and sweet potato wedges, and they were fantastic! I think the price point is good too--not a cheap place, but I felt like it was a value for the quality of food that we had. Also, they sat us in the back next to a beautiful window with an outside garden through the glass, and being on the edge of the restaurant, it was like a little oasis for dinner. Would highly recommend this place!!"

  • "I always try to get to Blue Smoke once or twice a year, its a personal favorite and never disappoints. This time around I particularly enjoyed some friendly bar service that suggested an excellent beer"
    Dined on 5/30/2014
  • "there were so many tasty dishes to choose from it was almost impossible to decide- the mashed potatoes and mac & cheese are a MUST; order them as sides and share ( although some of you wont want to share) And as a starter the bbq potato chips with blue cheese dipping sauce is worth the calories!! One of us took some of the bleu cheese dipping sauce and added a bit on the pulled pork sandwich and it was a taste explosion!! "

  • "Great food and nice atmosphere. It took a little while to be served but other than that I had no complaints."
