  • "We enjoyed the cocktails and beer pairings, but the food was most memorable! We ordered the deviled eggs and chipotle wings, both had a kick to them and a unique flavor. Highly recommend! We both ordered the brisket (marbled) which was delicious as well. And finally for dessert we ordered the chocolate cake and key lime pie. We thought the key lime pie won the dessert prize. :) Service was excellent!"

  • "Great place for BBQ...ribs, wings, etc. Mac & cheese alone is worth the visit. Using OpenTable was a great way to get a table. Even added another person to our reservation and pushed the time a little later...no problem! Took great care of us -- used them again already!!"

  • "The food was good but not great. Portion size was small. Thus, I consider this an expensive restaurant for what you get."

  • "From the moment you walked in until the moment you left it was a great evening. Food was fabulous and such a variety of flavours, whilst the menu was short and compact which means good food to me. Special desert Silk pie was just that .....yummy. Fabulous waiter and service good beer and a great find !"

  • "Blue smoke holds it's own against some of other other top BBQ places in the city. Ribs are great but the brisket is where it's at!"

  • "Great atmosphere, beer list and decor. Ok food, service and noise."

  • " I've been going the blue smoke 8yrs now at first for the kid friendly atmosphere but the food an services continue to excite my expiations The salt and pepper ribs are just perfect no sauce needed considering how hard it is to find good beef ribs in NYC. I'll keep coming an bring people here as long as they're around."

  • "Blue Smoke is consistently excellent, particularly on the two parameters that matter most: quality of food, and quality of service. Fantastic BBQ, always reliably nice and efficient staff - a pleasure to fine here."

  • "I saw the place recommended in a guide book so made a reservation. I was. Bit disappointed overall. The food was good , solid but nothing exceptional at all. I had a ribs which were good and Mac'n Cheese which was the best part of the meal! What a shame, it was a side! My partner had chichen , he said it was very ordinary , nothing special. The cocktails were good but our waiter was a bit sleepy!"

  • "My husband and I are big BBQ fans, and have always enjoyed Blue Smoke. I really wanted to be a responsible human and order a side of dark greens along with my irresponsible fried chickens, but sadly there were none on the menu which I was disappointed by. Other then the fact I could not add a small percentage of responsible eating to my otherwise awesome fried and starchy meal, I was very happy. Our server Chris was also incredibly attentive throughout the meal which I appreciated."

  • "So glad that I thought to meet a client at Blue Smoke for lunch! The experience was great from start to finish. The seating was comfortable, the service was friendly and knowledgeable and the food, so very very good. I had the brisket which was savory and delicious and those mashed potatoes! My colleague special ordered chicken and he was very pleased. We topped it all of with a new warm peach cake dessert that was out of this world. Thanks for a great dining experience. We really enjoyed it!"

  • "Ever since I have been going here from the last 12 years its always been very consistent. I had some clients who were visiting from Sweden, who were in the mood for ribs & bourbon, what better place to go than BLUE SMOKE."

  • "restaurant was lively and waiters, though not great, were friendly. Food was ok, drinks better. Found all varieties of ribs, ordered samplers and roast chicken too dry."

  • "Blue Smoke never disappoints. I do miss their cupcakes, which I believe are now produced off-site at their bakery on Vessey, but their applewood smoked chicken and pulled pork were the perfect Sunday "brunch" for 4th of July weekend."

  • "In town with family including two teenage grandsons. Reservations were right on time. Service was excellent throughout evening. All six of us ordered something different and everyone raved about their meal. Good food excellent service and an enjoyable atmosphere. Definitely would recommend to anyone and will return on next visit to city."

  • "My friend and I both had chicken dishes (I had the apple smoked chicken with mashed potatoes and she had the fried chicken with mashed potatos) and we were both very impressed. It started to get really crowded by 7:30pm but the service was still great."

  • "Hadn't been here for a while. Menu has changed slightly. Need to increase appetizer, sides and salad selections. Food is good; certainly not noteworthy. Been better in past years. Had combo plate. Portions small. Brisket was bland. Ribs were delicious though. Waitress ha1d an outgoing personality. We advised her that one of our diners was a diabetic and repeatedly said to serve him his ribs dry, with no added sauce, which she said she'd do. Guess how they arrived? Slathered in BBQ sauce!!"

  • "I took my family (self, wife, 2 adult daughters) for dinner on a trip to NYC as we had all enjoyed BBQ food so much on a long vacation in the South last year. We all had the Memphis baby back ribs, and they were superb. Service was good and the BlueSmoke ale great too. The prices were OK, so altogether a great meal!"

  • "This place rocks, simple as that! The food was amazing, I had the ribs and my wife had the brisket. Both were served by a really friendly and helpful team of guys. The cocktails were also out of this world! You HAVE to eat here! You won't be disappointed!"

  • "We had a great time with great food and great service. We were there for pre-theater dinner. Our waiter was very conscientious about getting us on our way with plenty of time to spare."

  • "Food was good. BBQ ribs, mac and cheese we solid. The place needs a refurb though. I get that it's a BBQ joint and decor is as such. But everything is looking a bit tired, dated and could all do with a refresh."

  • "What a wonderful neighborhood "find" for me (I'm new to the neighborhood...Blue Smoke is not). The food was delicious, cocktails were spot on, service was attentive without being intrusive, and all in all, a great meal was enjoyed. We will be back."

  • "I brought my dad here for a Father's Day lunch. Since his kids were coming from upstate NY and lower NJ, we figured NYC was a nice central location, and how can you go wrong with BBQ? Last time I ate here was probably five years ago, and I'm glad to see that the service is still OUTSTANDING. Food was terrific, if not a bit on the pricey side, but certainly worth it. Would absolutely return."

  • "We have gone to this restaurant several times a year and the last visit will probably be our last. The service is still good, but the food was just not all that great. Perhaps there are too many rib places that Blue Smoke just doesn't hold the mystique it did when it first opened. But not one of the sides were worth eating. The coleslaw was bland and the mac & cheese was not even as good as Kraft mac & cheese. The only thing I still think is good is the BBQ potato chips with the Blue Cheese dip. Other than that, there are too many places to eat in this city so we will not be going back to Blue Smoke."

  • "We were visiting New York and had been here on a previous visit and had really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We were not disappointed on our return visit. Great service, very tasty food and lively atmosphere."

  • "My husband and I have enjoyed our past dinners at Blue Smoke, but we've noticed a marked decline in service and cuisine. Our cheerful server took our order and that was the last we saw of him. Various runners came by to ask if we needed anything. Finally, a lovely server took over. After delivering dessert, no further interaction. The food is still good, but portions are smaller and pricing is up. Then we made the mistake of ordering dessert: sour, out-of-season strawberries on a cardboard crust -- perhaps the worst thing I've ever been served at a Danny Meyer restaurant. Are they focusing more on the Jazz Standard crowd of beverage imbibers than for us foodies?"
