From elegant dinners to intimate cocktail parties, we will customize a menu specific to your onsite occasion. The Blue River Bistro can accomodate up to 70 seated guests for a full restaurant buyout or up to 125 for a standing cocktail party. Partial buyouts can accommodate up to 45 for a sit down dining event or up to 60 for a cocktail party. When weather permits, our patios increase our total capacity by 30 seats and 50 guests standing.

Getting there

  • Public Transit: The Breckenridge Transit System's departure timetable is available at www.townofbreckenridge.com, hours of operation are from 6:30am to Midnight. In addition the majority of Hotels in the area offer shuttle services to the Blue River Bistro's front door as well as return service.
  • Parking: Private Lot
  • Parking Details: The Blue River Bistro has ample parking in the rear of the building across the river from the Gondola. Please use the parking directly behind the Blue River Bistro and the adjoining businesses and restrain from parking at the neighboring Bed and Breakfast to the South of the Building. If the rear area is full, there is non-metered parking available along Main Street in front of the Blue River Bistro.

  • "The food and serivce were top notch but the close seating and the very high noise level made it all but impossible to hold a conversation. We and the folks at the tables next to us had to shout and thus we all overheard each others attempts at conversation. They really, really need to find a way to add some ceiling baffles or accousitc absorbing tiles or something to cut down on the noise. The decor was beautiful and the food wonderful but hard to enjoy when I get a headache every time I have been to your restaurant."

  • "Love going to this restaurant - typically always a stop when in town. Remodel looks great. Only downside latest visit - the noise level is now through the roof. Not a quiet / romantic stop anymore, it appears. Do recommend and will go again, but with different expectations."

  • "Although the service and food are good, this restaurant has the worst acoustics of anywhere I have ever eaten. We were seated on the back wall of the dining room. There is a high ceiling with no type of soundproof tiles etc, so the room echoes all conversations. On top of that there is music playing which you can barely hear, the noise level escalates having to talk above all. Terrible, if you want to hear your friend/date do NOT dine here! The food is decent, and the service good, but not sure it is worth the frustration of deafening conversation."

  • "We came on a Thursday evening and were surprised to hear a jazz trio with a vocalist performing. We were seated at a cozy banquet by the window and I was able to look out on the street and the mountain. Our server was excellent, and made very good suggestions of the very good duck breast special and the delicious ruby trout over farrow. As we checked out the wine list we spotted a chianti from Tuscany where we had just enjoyed a wine tasting. We had to order it and we were transported back to Tuscany! We look forward to returning to this gem of a restaurant. ."

  • "We have dined at BRB three times.Great food but very poor service.We were served our main courses 15 mins apart on our last visit.Also we were finally handed a check for twice for what it should have been.The final insult.Not what you expect from this type of restaurant.The tables are too close together and the live music is too loud.A number of new and better restaurants have opened up in Breck and give a superior. dining experience"

  • "Arrived on time, shown to table on time,restaurant busy . 15 minutes pass , no waitress, 30 minutes pass no waitress , 35 minutes pass , ah a waitress , takes orders for two bottles wine , 10 minutes pass and the white wine arrives , for 3 of us, .Asked where the red wine was she said it was coming , 5 minutes latter it does BUT it is the wrong wine. She then asks to take our order and has to be told to go and get the correct wine, which she did almost 55 minutes after arrival . Of course issues empty apology and blames the changes that have taken place. The only change is that she should be terminated. The food was fine , exactly as expected. At the end of the meal no one offered to find our coats which had been taken on arrival"

There was a great gathering for happy hour but our corner seat was quiet and the service was excellent. We were treated like royalty. Our waiter was very helpful with the menu. The food looked and tasted great. Everything we ordered was done to perfection. Save room for dessert. The creme brûlée is delicious!"

  • "Two teenagers, my husband and I were visiting from NY to ski. A guitarist was playing and it was a good accompaniment to our meal. I recommend the Champagne martini -- perfectly done. Fun, semi-loud crowd but that was great. Had a 7 reservation and we were sat right away. Enjoyed their specials and all had large, filling meals. Really nicely done. Best meal and drinks for our week's stay."

Don't get there early before your reservation unless you want to have a drink at the bar first. Highly recommend!"

  • "We made a reservation for 4:30 because that is we were told was available and we were seated in the main area of the Restaurant. However Happy Hour was in full swing and we wanted to take advantage of the specials. I am not sure why we would pay full price for what was being served 15 feet away from our table. However they moved us upon our request. They admonished us about the main dining reservation and not making a reservation if we wanted happy hour. We explained none of that was clear to us while making the reservation. They were nice but we had a few moments of uncomfortable. That being said the food was great, the drinks and service was stellar. We will go back and next time know how to work the system."

  • "Really like the ambience of this restaurant - the good was amazing. The buffalo was awesome! The Italian food was great. The fruit infused vodka was tasty. The waitress was the only part of the experience that was lacking only three visits to the table of 6 in 1.5 hrs. We skipped dessert because of this - very disappointed about that. I would still recommend because the food was so good. Hope the wait staff improves next time we visit Breck."

  • "My wife and I never miss a chance to go here while we're skiing in the summit. add it to your go to locations for anytime you have a ski trip with your significant other. We normally come for wine and cheese and apps, bit this trip came for the fixed menu on Valentines day. The venison tenderloin was the highlight of our meal. Also try Dillon Dam brewery!"

  • "The snow was falling heavily outside which added to the ambiance of the modern decor inside the restaurant. Our waiter suggested the salmon which was fantastic with incredible flavor. My wife had the chicken marsala which was also very good. Live music playing in the background, along with the adjacent bar made the main dining area a little noisy but fun. Excellent service and friendly staff. We would definitely come back again and again!"

  • "We ate at Blue River Bistro for Valentines Day last night, and it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time, and I'm a foodie. They had a fixed price 4-course menu with an optional wine pairing, and it was nothing short of amazing. The price was a little steep, $95 for the food and $35 for the wine, but worth every penny. Highlights of the meal included a baked scallop to start (best scallop I've ever had), then a venison filet that you could cut with a spoon. I'm not typically a huge venison fan, but it was perfect. Then the bison filet came with sauces and sides that nearly brought me to tears. My wife had the Chilean sea bass, which was like butter. All told, made for a very special and memorable V-Day for us."

I had the salmon and it was very delicious. My husband had the Pasta Sicily and it was bland and tasteless-was a big dissappointment for a guy who loves pasta!. Beet salad was very good as well. I think among the restaurants in town, this is a good choice. We liked eating in the bar on the high tables more than in the restaurant."

  • "Over several ski seasons we have gone to Blue River for the live music during the week. Don't bother. The restaurant has placed several large tables close to the musicians so hearing the music is impossible. The food was not up to the standard we have experienced in the past. Escargot was prepared with a large coating of cheese. The ribeye was tough and full of gristle. Our server was friendly, but the kitchen was slow. A manager offered to replace the steak. We declined so they took half off the price. We have really enjoyed Blue River in the past, and hope that this visit was an aberration. Because of the noise level we would recommend Blue River as a great après place with above average food."
