The Blue River Bistro can accomodate up to 70 seated guests for a full restaurant buyout or up to 125 for a standing cocktail party. Partial buyouts can accommodate up to 45 for a sit down dining event or up to 60 for a cocktail party. When weather permits, our patios increase our total capacity by 30 seats and 50 guests standing.

Getting there

  • Public Transit: The Breckenridge Transit System's departure timetable is available at www.townofbreckenridge.com, hours of operation are from 6:30am to Midnight. In addition the majority of Hotels in the area offer shuttle services to the Blue River Bistro's front door as well as return service.
  • Parking: Private Lot
  • Parking Details: The Blue River Bistro has ample parking in the rear of the building across the river from the Gondola. Please use the parking directly behind the Blue River Bistro and the adjoining businesses and restrain from parking at the neighboring Bed and Breakfast to the South of the Building. If the rear area is full, there is non-metered parking available along Main Street in front of the Blue River Bistro.

  • "6 of us dined at Blue River Bistro on a Saturday night during the peak of tourist season. The Bistro was packed and very busy. We had the scallop appetizer that was very good but only 2 scallops, also had the mussels' and they were excellent with a more generous portion. The main courses were were very well prepared and presented the only complaint would be the noise level which made it impossible to talk with our fellow diners without raising our voices."

  • "One of several restaurants recommended by a Breckenridge resident for my family while visiting for a few days. Menu has a wide variety of appetizers, salads and entrees. IWhile the menu has an Italian slant (lots of pastas and traditional Italian preparations) Blue River Bistro seems to hit many different styles. They have a great variety of meat, fish, chicken as well as vegetable entrees. I tasted the tenderloin, chicken Parmesan, tortellini, and fettuccine. All were savory, seasoned and well balanced. Equally suitable for couples, groups and families with kids."

Can be noisy when the musician is playing.i had the salmon which was first rate and my son had the rib eye steak which he said was delicious but was a hefty portion. The mozzarella tomato salad was also excellent as was the bruschetta.the outside seating is pleasant for lunch and early evening dining but can become chilly in the later evening, so bring a warm jacket."

  • "I came for dinner a little later on a Monday evening (8:30) and found the place to be energetic with a very hip feel. We were seated along a long banquette along the wall with the other tables a little close. I was worried it would be too busy to have a special dinner out but it ended up being perfect! We were able to have intimate conversation and still feel like we were part of something. There was a great vibe. It felt nice to be in happening place in town that felt alive at a non-prime dinner time. The food was absolutely outstanding as well. I think our server's name was Renee. She timed everything perfectly and the evening had a great flow to it. I definitely recommend the Bistro!"

However, we were not told of unavailable items when we were seated, and 2 of the 4 people at our table had to change their entree choices when the waitress took our order. I ordered the chicken Marsala and thought it rather bland tasting, but I am from Louisiana where we kick things up a notch in the seasoning department. I would give this place another try before I cross it off my list."

It was so loud in there and there wasn't even a band playing. We commented many times to each other that if they would just lower the ceiling the noise level wouldn't be as bad. Our heads and ears were hurting for hours."

  • "We've been to the Blue River Bistro many times and the food was always good but the acoustics were poor which made the restaurant noisy. This was our first visit since the entire inside was remodeled. Unfortunately, the owners did nothing to dampen the noise during the remodel. On the plus side, the food and service are still outstanding. I had the Linguine Sicily which was a spicy blend of seafood and pasta, and was tremendous."

  • "The noise from the bar carried throughout the restaurant causing everyone to talk over everyone.. And that was at 5:45, I imagine it is louder later. The appetizers were good but the chicken my wife had was poorly prepared and had a few inedible pieces. The portions were large but I would have been happier with smaller portions with more care in preparation. One thing I was happy with was the aesthetics, they did put thought into making the food lookgood. I wouldn't suggest for a romantic night out but maybe an after bar stop. "

  • "We took our mom up to Breck for a surprise birthday weekend and had dinner here. She's allergic to chocolate so instead of the chocolate cake they would usually bring at the end (which did look very good) they gave us two flutes of champagne. I got the mahi mahi and it was amazing. The carrots were particularly great. All four distinct entrees that we ordered, including the chef's special, were outstanding. Quantity, quality and temperature were all perfect. "

We and the folks at the tables next to us had to shout and thus we all overheard each others attempts at conversation. They really, really need to find a way to add some ceiling baffles or accousitc absorbing tiles or something to cut down on the noise. The decor was beautiful and the food wonderful but hard to enjoy when I get a headache every time I have been to your restaurant."

  • "Although the service and food are good, this restaurant has the worst acoustics of anywhere I have ever eaten. We were seated on the back wall of the dining room. There is a high ceiling with no type of soundproof tiles etc, so the room echoes all conversations. On top of that there is music playing which you can barely hear, the noise level escalates having to talk above all. Terrible, if you want to hear your friend/date do NOT dine here! The food is decent, and the service good, but not sure it is worth the frustration of deafening conversation."

  • "We came on a Thursday evening and were surprised to hear a jazz trio with a vocalist performing. We were seated at a cozy banquet by the window and I was able to look out on the street and the mountain. Our server was excellent, and made very good suggestions of the very good duck breast special and the delicious ruby trout over farrow. As we checked out the wine list we spotted a chianti from Tuscany where we had just enjoyed a wine tasting. We had to order it and we were transported back to Tuscany! We look forward to returning to this gem of a restaurant. ."
