Blue Ridge Dining Room - Grove Park InnMother's Day FeastFood outstanding, great selection on buffet. Expensive, but worth it for a special occasion. Beautiful area and views.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGrove Park InnThe view from the Blue Ridge dining room is wonderful, and service great. Wide selection at Mothers Day buffet, but a little overpriced. Still will be going back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful viewWe were celebrating a college graduation, so it was a very special occasion. The setting and the scenery in itself make it very special. However, we thought the food was just "good". It really was not that special. The presentation of the food is exceptional, but the food itself was nothing spectacular.
We would go back just for the venue, but would hope that, for the price, the food might be better.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent service and a breathtakinExcellent service and a breathtaking view made this a wonderful experience. Food was very good, and some items were outstanding. Would recommend this to anyone traveling through the Asheville area, or a local resident.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic service and foodI never know what to expect when going to an unfamiliar restaurant because I have several food allergies that require extra attention. However, the sous chef walked me around the buffet to inform me of what went into each dish, and he also prepared anything I wanted to my specifications. The customer service was terrific, and the food was even better. A fantastic overall experience!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMawesome! We arrived early but were still seated immediately. Our glasses were always topped off before they got half empty. The food was exceptional in quality and quantity! I will be going back again and again!!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGrove Park InnLove the Blue Ridge Dining Room at Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina. The food is sublime and creative, the service is top notch and the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains is divine. The food and service is quite special. And then, gaze out to those gorgeous peaks and you have an evening to remember forever.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMA spectacular view and good foodHave visited The Grove several times, and this resturant is a great way to get the spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Asheville without paying thousands some pay for a hotel room with not as good a view. Very worth while for a great evening, but get there before the sun goes down.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWell worth the time...be sureWell worth the time...be sure to look around the entire resort.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe wanted one special dinnerWe wanted one special dinner for our weekend getaway - and this was the perfect choice!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic dinner and serviceFantastic dinner and service (Jason) was a great server , should mention all the staff very good
Blue Ridge on Friday night is seafood buffet.
If your visiting Asheville you really should come to Blue Ridge
For a meal if it not dinner do breakfast
Or see if there open for lunch .
Then have a look around at the grand hotel Grove Park Inn4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMNice seafood buffet. Noteworthy:Nice seafood buffet. Noteworthy: the apple blue cheese cole slaw and the blueberry cobbler w/ ice cream!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMNot worth the brunch price.Very, very pricy for a brunch which does not have unlimited champagne. From what I could see, it didn't eve have seconds on juice; however, I could be mistaken on that score.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAll the dishes on the primAll the dishes on the prim rib buffet were delicious & well-prepared - yes, we tried them ALL! The prim rib (2 types, roasted & smoked) was especially good - the server was skilled at delivering the requested portion size and degree of done-ness. And the view out across the Blue Ridge Mountains alone is worth the price of the meal! Our waiter was very socially skilled and quickly attended to our every request.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMSelection of seafood not asSelection of seafood not as good as years past...
desert selection was fair
What was available was average
Service was excellent
All hotel employees were very friendly
$7.00 parking to eat in restaurant is a little ridiculous
Asheville has many other restaurants where food is better and selection also greater
However, the staff could not have been nicer.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBlue Ridge Vista and superb cuisineThis is a special dining experience located within a marvelous, unique location with spectacular views.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Grove Park Inn is theThe Grove Park Inn is the greatest and the Blue Ridge Dining Room is the greatest. The view is second to none. The place is full of history. The food is the best. If you go away hungry you went to the wrong dining room or hotel. We have been there several times and still cannot get use to how great it is. There are literally rooms full of food. Try it, you will love it.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMPoor SeatingFood was excellent as always at the Blue Ridge Dining Room. Only complaint is that our seating was a poor one, out of sight of our waiter, who must not have been notified of our arrival. We waited for quite some time before he was finally alerted to our presence and began to help us navigate the day's offerings. Though we had reservations, arrived promptly and noted that more desirable seating was available , we were given odd seating behind a large pillar and were cut off from the beautiful view of Asheville and out of the sight line of our waiter. Most disappointing, but still enjoy an excellent meal and each other's company.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent ... almost.Easter brunch ... very well done. One complaint - the dining room was not very clean. Not gross, just in need of dusting. The window ledges and chair rungs had a serious layer of dust.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI went on Easter Sunday andI went on Easter Sunday and enjoyed an over the top buffet. It was just wonderful all the way around.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster FeasterWhat an improvement. The last holiday meal we had at the Grove Park Inn, several years ago was, to say the least, disappointing. The new owners seem serious about revitalizing a destination that has for too long lived on its reputation as the ultimate mountain retreat for people from Atlanta and Florida. The food was Southern, innovative and other than the shortcomings that come with all buffets, very good. The service was friendly and attentive. Now those of us who live here have a reason to go to the GPI and to recommend it to friends and relatives.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Friday night seafood buffetThe Friday night seafood buffet is a great destination. It is pricey; but there is no other place to taste variety of seafood, vegetables, cheese, breads, salads and fantastic desserts. Treat yourself to a slow dinner with an attentive waitstaff and a view of Asheville. Date night - not a meal for small children.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat value in a terrific settingWe had the Saturday evening prime rib buffet. This was delicious...particularly the smoked prime rib and the pimento cheese grits!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMSaturday Night BuffetGorgeous sunset view of the mountains. Attentive waiter. Wonderful buffet - plenty of room to wander around their assortment of salads, mains, vegetables and desserts. This is our second stay at The Grove Park Inn, coming from Alabama, and looking forward to another stay and dinner at the Saturday night Buffet!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMIt had been many years sinceIt had been many years since we dined at the Blue Ridge Room at the Grove Park Inn. It has changed from a menu based to a buffet which was suprising but the buffet was extraordinary. all the offerings were top of the line, two different types of prime rib. Oysters, shrimp and many other great items to choose from. The desserts were excellent. Service was as expected, outstanding.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing views of the mountains.Amazing views of the mountains. Great food. Definitely go on the Prime Rib night.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe ate at the Saturday nightWe ate at the Saturday night prime rib buffet. The food was good but not great. There was a wide variety to choose from but the vegetables were too fancy for our liking. The entrees were good and the desserts were very good.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
