Michael was our server...a familiar face who transferred up from Real Seafood in Naples...another one of our favorite oyster restaurants.
A great atmosphere for outside dining.

Had our usual oysters (Katamas are so fresh), and I had a ribeye. Not a place you would think of for a steak, but the ribeye was really good.

Grilled grouper was incredible, as was the scallop/shrimp dish. The signature blue cheese vinaigrette slaw is unique. Wines were a bargain!! Reggie, our server, was terrific and great to talk to. Outdoors on a warm Florida evening, the experience was peak!! We dined again with 2 couples visiting from out of town here and their eyes opened wide at the great food. From steak to fish, everyone was very happy about their choices. As one of our fellow diners crunched down on the Calamari he commented, "Now this is REALLY good!" The biggest draw for me is their fabulous rolls, served fresh and piping hot. Food is always dependably good, service always friendly and efficient. Good variety of steak, fresh fish, sushi on the menu. Not an oyster fan but they offer quite a few on the menu. Affordable wine list. Cozy atmosphere inside good for romantic or business meetings. Outdoor seating plentiful for the tourists. Relatively small but comfortable bar area for those inclined to drink and watch a ball game. In season reservations recommended as it gets very busy. The meal was topped off with a piece of key lime pie, the best I have ever had and I love it. However the food preparation took, what we considered, an excessively long time. Even preparing food from "scratch," 48 minutes from order in to arrival at table was too long. BUT the food was excellent.We had trouble finding the restaurant, even with our reliable GPS. "Blue Point" is buried in a rather large shopping plaza. After our second try to located it, we called and the fellow that answered gave gave use excellent directions. However, the matre'd was less than understanding about our difficulty in locating the restaurant and our resulting late arrival for our reservation. But he reluctantly seated us. We went to a fundraiser and won a $50 gift certificate to this restaurant. We ended up taking 2 friends and spending $150, so I think the restaurant was rewarded for their community service action. We ordered from the early-bird menu but the waiter brought us the regular menu portion of scallops which was more food but also $10 higher. He offered to change it with no problem, which we appreciated, but we went ahead & just paid for the dinner portion. Service was great, food really tasty and fresh, ambiance very likable and they cater to food requests due to food sensitivities or dislikes. Also they have cooked veggie selections, not easy to find in restaurants in this area. Everyone was happy, older kids to Granma! We will make this a definite dinner stop when visiting the Ft.
