Diner Reviews
  • "We were seated outside on Pine St.- not a good location. Crab soup was good but the Sole was below average-over cooked and very dry. Baked potato was OK, but not enough butter on the table and the waitress did not come by until we had finished so no chance to get more butter. the wine service was fine. I would not order Sole again at $30/ platter."

  • "As always superb wait staff great but always noisy!"

  • "Delicious Scallops...a must have. Nice outdoor dining and in a great area of Princeton."

  • "Wonderful seafood! Fit for foodies. Only drawback is that when BPG is crowded (which it usually is), busboys try to take your food away before you are finished! They must be told to "chill" and allow the diners to savor the delightful food."

  • "I first visited Blue Point Grill last year while on business and was thoroughly impressed. I was recently near Princeton with my son and took him there for dinner. We both had great meals and great service. I only wish I lived closer."

  • "I've been there many times for dinner. Food and service always at worst "nice", but usually "very nice" or better. I love their selections of raw oysters, and pulpo. I've never had a bad meal there, nor questionable service even when they're very busy. Saturday dinner bookings at the 6:30 PM timeframe need to be done at least one week in advance because they are so popular."

  • "the good food. I have been going to Blue Point more than 10 years and have enjoyed fresh seafood and lively atmosphere. Last Wed. experience was so terrible that I decided never to go back. The noise level was unbearable and the service was too slow. We had to get up without our coffee."

  • "It was my first visit, and I wil definitely be going back. The food was exceptional."

  • "Great food, nice ambiance but the wait staff was less than desirable. I would still give it a go again since the food was great."

  • "An excellent meal with an excellent waiter, Tommy. An extensive list of fish choices, a couple of non-fish ones. Our group had the crab cakes (no filler, amazing), trout (seasoned to perfection), tilapia (moist and flavorful), and mussels (wonderful). It is a BYOB, and to me that is an asset as well. Outdoor seating, indoor seating, all fun. If you love fish, plan to try this local gem, but save a seat for me."

  • "Blue Point Grill is a BYOB that offers very fresh and delicious seafood. We've been there a few times, and each time the meal has been very good. This past time, party of six, everyone really enjoyed their entree, and the apps were good as well. Not a big place, a bit cramped, but the great food makes it worth the trip. Very courteous staff as well."

  • "A bit pricey for the venue but great food. Enjoyed the food and staff. Reservation was right on schedule."

  • "Get the lobster roll! They have it throughout the summer, and it is one of the best things I've ever eaten. You will be glad you ate it!"

  • "Blue Point Grill consistently serves wonderful seafood. I had the crab cakes which were very large and my husband had the cod. He completely cleaned his plate and devoured most of my second crab cake. We asked for and were given an outside table which we love in summer. Have been to this restaurant many times and it never disappoints. I would like a green vegetable added in addition to the potato or rice. That would be my only suggestion."

  • "Nothing fancy, just fresh grilled fish. Salads were delicious. Serving sizes on the small side. Wait staff are extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and efficient. Love the Bent Spoon ice cream for dessert!!"

  • "Never disappointed in any seafood or fish entree that I have had to date. I dine here a couple times during the year"

  • "We drive from Philly to go to Blue Point because the fish is SO delicious! We had the mixed grill and the lobster roll, both of which were out of this world! Our server was helpful and friendly and food was all delivered in a timely manner despite the crowded restaurant! Got ice cream for dessert - this is not just ice cream....it is something not to be missed! We love The Blue Point and highly recommend it!"

  • "My girlfriend and I have been to Blue Point twice in the past week. We went back because the first time was so good! There is a large selection of fresh fish and it is cooked to perfection, juicy and not loaded with seasonings. You have to get the crab-guacamole martini and the jalapeño-lime shrimp (it's really not too hot) appetizers. The wait staff know their stuff. Eat outside at a sidewalk table on Nassau Street in downtown Princeton. It's quiet and clean. Reservation recommended."

  • "An energetic restaurant with great seafood! Fantastic friendly service."

  • "Wow! Variety and preparation of seafood is outstanding. Crab and avocado martini was fresh, fresh, fresh. Costa Rica Tuna was perfectly done and a huge piece was provided. Service is fast and abrupt like a vibrant NYC restaurant. We sat inside near the grill on a hot Tuesday night. The place was packed and annoyingly loud. It was very difficult to hear anything my friend was saying due to the acoustics of the place. Definitely come here for the food but beware of the sound and crowd factor. Reservations here are a must. If you want a conversation you may want to consider dining outside on a nice night. Will try that next time."

  • "This lintel nice Restaurant has by far the best seafood in town. The ambience is fantastic and welcoming and the service was impeccable. The table was available in time for my reservation and as long you remember that it's BYO you are safe."

  • "We have been dining at Blue Point Grill for several years now and we are so pleased that the seafood is still the best in the area hands down. Although we don't live in town we consider this to be our local seafood gem. They have not missed a beat over the years and with reservations now dinner here is a no brainer! Make a reservation and enjoy! We recommend BPG everychasnce we get."

  • "We love good seafood and were not disappointed. Pricey, loud, cramped, but good food & decent service. I guess this is trendy urban style. The tuna was tastey, unfortunately I couldn't have a nice conversation with my husband while enjoying it!"

  • "Always great food, best fish in the area. Good service and always honors reservations. I love this restaurant"

  • "It's great when you don't know what to order because there are so many outstanding entrees to choose from. It was our friends first visit and they were very impressed with the menu and more importantly we all loved the food. The only negative is that our server was pushy- rushed us to order and came over too often to see how we were doing. The split second we finished eating he asked if we would like to have dessert... Not like the other servers we have had. We will be back."

  • "Outstanding seafood and great service. Try to reserve a table outdoors and watch the people go by. Its a great BYOB place too. Seafood market they own next door provides the freshest seafood."

  • "Great service and food as usual. My friends Halibut was a tad over cooked but over all fantastic. We were also hoping for Soft Shell Crabs but no luck there. We pretty much get the same thing every time. Its hard to switch it up. We get the Jalepeno Lime Grilled Shrimp and the Grilled Octopus. Once in awhile we get the oysters. I would love to see a new appetizer on the menu. Something Fresh and delicious. Nothing fried. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. Amazing."

  • "Food is excellent, but the restaurant is very, very noisy."

  • "Don't really have complaints (as much as nothing good to say) other than about the price. The decor is austere and cold;our server tried hard, but seemed uninformed; and the food was mediocre. For what you get, the prices here are way too high."

  • "Food is well prepared and alway fresh. There is a great variety of choices. It is a wonderful laid back atmosphere, and most of the other customers are really friendless, too."

  • "Great place for a group of friends or family. Impeccably fresh fish never disappoints. One of my favorite Princeton spots."

  • "Went there for an early dinner. The food was ok nothing to rave about. The clam chowder was very rich but didn't have much flavor . Clams casino was just filler. For the main course the salmon was dry but the snapper was good. Don't think I would run back there."

  • "I recently moved to Colorado from New Jersey and on my first visit back to NJ I brought my mother; a native New-Yorker who had been away for 30+ years. All she wanted on her visit was real, fresh clams on the half shell! (Something you just can't get in Colorado!) I picked your restaurant based on your raw clams/oysters menu and hoped that it would meet my mother's expectations. As soon as we sat down and were handed the menus my mother's eyes lit up and she became overjoyed with the options. When the food arrived and my mother slurped down her first clam, tears of joy ran down her face as she thanked me for bringing her to your restaurant. Thank- you so much for helping me make my mother's visit so memorable; we will definitely be back!"
