Blue Point GrillGreat SeafoodMy husband wanted to go to a good fish restaurant without having to go to Philadelphia or New York. It was his birthday so we wanted it to be special. We had been to to the Grill before but it was many years ago and had forgotten how good the food was. We brought our teenaged son and we all shared and enjoyed three different types of fish. We will definitely be back and it will be much sooner than later! Thank you.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Seafood JointWe went here for Mother's Day and, not being from the area, were incredibly impressed with every dish we ordered. Everything was cooked just right and had lots of flavor. Definitely get the seared Costa Rican tuna! It's BYOB so come prepared or stop at the liquor store next door.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day dinnerAs usual, the good was excellent. My wife's Surf & Turf was cooked perfectly. She rarely says that.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Seafood in the Tri-State AreaBlue Point is hands down the best seafood restaurant in the Tri-State Area. I love coming here especially when the weather is nice and we can sit outside. Foodies will really enjoy!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been going for years. We have been going for years. It never disappoints. The fact that they finally decided to institute a reservation system has made an even better difference.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFish is always fresh and delicious!Fish is always fresh and delicious! Great service! Great place! Nice outdoor seating.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb SeafoodBlue Point Grill is consistently excellent: the fish--and it's a fish restaurant, so not recommended for carnivores--is ALWAYS fresh and perfectly prepared. There is always a huge choice, mostly simple preparations, nice selection of sides, we have never been disappointed. This is not a fancy restaurant, the chefs are not trying to earn points for the newest, most elaborate, or trendy menus; it is a VERY GOOD restaurant that always satisfies and leaves us wanting to come back again and again. Just remember to bring your own wine or beer, no corkage charges, and you'll be happy!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMawesome foodGreat food! Awesome always. Fresh fish. Always served very healthy. Their Brussels sprouts are great. Their crab meat and guacamole appetizer is our favorite. Have a variety of different fish that you never find in other restaurants. Friendly atmosphere. It was an amazing night so we were able to eat outside. Great evening!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways great, always something new.and interesting. Very kid friendly. Outstanding fish menu with new Interesting dishes each time we go. Staff is very accommodating and friendly with our 15 month old.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFood start to NOT lastI had an excellent seafood dining experience, and if I had stayed with seafood, the meal would have been perfection. But as a lover of good food I wanted it all, so I ordered dessert - quite disappointing....the Creme Brûlée was off by few ingredients, almost had a boxed pudding flavor, and the lava cake was unsensational...Other than the dessert our meals were excellent- from lobster bisque, crab and avocado martini (arrives in a martini glass, not a drink, thank goodness), lime and cilantro shrimp, hint of jalapeño peppers to crab cakes the meal was sublime. I will definitely return again and again, and either skip dessert or go somewhere else. Coffee was good :) Service was excellent. Table outside a bit small. Highly recommend!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and serviceThis was my second time to this restaurant and, just like before, it did not disappoint! The food is amazing here! My first time, I had the John Dory and this time I had the Pistachio Crusted Rainbow Trout. My boyfriend had Swordfish last time and a different type of Swordfish with Salmon Grill this time. The fish is so tasty and the wait staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. They are open to questions about the food and very patient if you take a while to make a decision (like I usually do). The atmosphere is inviting as well. It's always a special dinner when you go here! I would recommend it to everyone I know.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best around! As always, and even more so now, the best restaurant around!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat BYOB place with excellentGreat BYOB place with excellent fish. Sea bass was amazing.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious & Great ServiceI had the Costa Rican YellowFin Tuna prepared with Wasabi and Soy Ginger (similar to the appetizer) and it was simply delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable, attenative, and fast.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service wereThe food and service were great. The only downside of this restaurant is the noise level.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall excellent food. WasOverall excellent food. Was happy with their ability to deal with gluten-free dining.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant is reallyThis restaurant is really focused on providing an excellent experience - and not just gouging you like so many others in Princeton. There are many menu options around $20, and they're a BYO.Most importantly, the food was outstanding!! Truly memorable and amazing!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBook earlyAs always, food delicious and service outstanding. This menu cycle's appetizer "martini" with guacamole, chips, crab was fun to share, though not as good as other appetizers we've had there. Wouldn't opt for it again. Far prefer the tuna pate which rotates on and off. Grilled shrimp and tilapia standby favorites. Weather now allows for outside dining which means early visitors booking inside have less energetic noise in the always packed restaurant. BYOB. Book early in evening and weeks ahead, online, if possible for best of everything.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Seafood in the AreaBest seafood restaurant in the area. Great variety of oysters and fish dishes. Everything is super fresh and perfectly prepared. Many meals there and never a problem - very consistent. Definitely worth going to, again and again!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMemorable mealI read all the reviews first so was ready to order the pistachio encrusted trout. It was very delicious and memorable. It was crispy but moist. My husband had the crab cakes which were also delicious with giant lumps of crab, no fillers.
We also ordered the guacamole crab as the appetizer. The tomatoes and guacamole seemed to overpower the wonderful lumps of crab though. The New England Chowder was different than I remember having grown up in New England. This one was more pink but it was so yummy, almost a meal in itself. We sat outside on the side street, a little too breezy, but there are heat lamps which is a great touch. I found the inside to be noisy, crowded and dark just my personal perspective.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, the seafood wasAs always, the seafood was delicious and the service was wonderful!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic.. AGAIN..Blue Point is always wonderful. The service is just fantastic. Last time, we had Laura, she was just great. Sat outside, with the heat lamps, and it was just perfect. Blue Point is still slightly pricey, but definitely worth it. Softshell crabs are in season now and I highly recommend. We also ordered the Halibut that night (we were told it came in fresh that day) and it was perfectly cooked. Sometimes I must say the fish can be a tad over cooked. Over all experience amazing.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA real treat! The fish isA real treat! The fish is consistently outstanding......fresh,well seasoned, and prepared in a variety of ways. If you want to have delicious, and healthy food, this is definitely the place to go.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best for sea food foodies. The best for sea food foodies. Always fresh, and types of sea food not found anywhere. Service prompt and courteous. Very noisy, all hard surfaces to reflect sound. All dishes prepared perfectly. Would like more choices for side dishes. Nothing fancy, just great sea food and quintessential "Princeton" atmosphere.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have never had a bad mealWe have never had a bad meal here.Seafood consistently fresh. May need to change up the menu a bit but food great4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMSO GoodI'm "that guy" who never gives a perfect score, always thinking things could be a bit better. Until now. Blue Point Grill hit it out of the park with every appetizer and entree at our 4-top. Can't wait to return but have to remember to reserve weeks in advance as this place is no secret.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMour adult family of 4 reallyour adult family of 4 really loved the outstanding and ever changing menu and our waiter Fernando was super nice. We look forward to coming back perhaps on a motorcycle run to sit outside with a bottle of chardonnay!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely love this restaurant.Absolutely love this restaurant. We could not have been more pleased.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMINCLUDED IN BEST OF PRINCETONOne of my favorite spots for FRESH seafood, it never disappoints.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLOVE blue point. Always amazing!LOVE blue point. Always amazing! My favorite restaurant right now.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest seafood restaurantI have tried several different kinds of entrees (tuna, cod, salmon, sea bass, crab cakes, etc.). It's unbelievable that every one I tried satisfied me completely.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWe ate outside for the firstWe ate outside for the first time-excellent! Lobster bisque and the mixed grill were to die for. Cannot do better for fish!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBlue Point Grill consistentlyBlue Point Grill consistently offers a great seafood dining experience. It's not fancy and can be loud sometimes (although it wasn't on our recent visit which was a Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.) but you can ALWAYS count on getting a great meal.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome! Our first experience at Blue Point was great! Crowded, but we expected that and agreed to sit at the Oyster Bar. The menu is great for seafood lovers, and the BYOB feature fits well. Focus is on great quality and a variety of seafood.
Our server, Virginia, was knowledgable and pleasant. If we lived closer we would certainly be in more often, but we can still recommend this place to anyone who wants to forget the fanciful, artsy stuff and focus on a tasty and enjoyable meal!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat SeafoodIf you want some of the freshest seafood, cooked exceptionally well, this is the place for you. A bit crowded and quite noisy, but the servers are friendly and attentive, and the menu is great for seafood.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have dined here since itWe have dined here since it opened and have never been disappointed.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOur favorite restaurant inOur favorite restaurant in the area. We had a great time. I thought the food was excellent (fried calimari appetizer was the best). Had a snmall table for 2 but it worked out. Will definately come back.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food. ConsistentExcellent food. Consistent across several recent visits. Great staff with good suggestions and descriptions of things to try from the menu. Highly recommended.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother delicious dinner.Oysters were sooo fresh and perfect. Shared lobster cake appetizer was so flavorful. The grilled halibut was spectacular. We had a very enjoyable dinner.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistent, fresh and priceyA standard in Princeton, reservations are a must, bring your own wine and a large(ish) billfold. Blue Point is a little on the expensive side but compared to the other local eateries it's well worth it. The service is always outstanding and while it can get a little noisy the overall ambiance is great.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMReally outstanding seafoodReally outstanding seafood - fresh, simply prepared. Terrific waiter - knowledgeable and friendly without being intrusive. The only drawback here is its small size and tile floor. As soon as the tables fill, the noise level becomes intrusive.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've wanted to try this restaurantWe've wanted to try this restaurant for several years, but didn't want to wait so wwe we're very happy to see it on OpenTable. We were not disappointed, there was a large selection of seafood. Our orders a mixed plate with Arctic Char and Barramundi and a whole Bronzini were delicious. We will definitely go back and would certainly recommend for anyone looking for seafood.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the first time IThis was the first time I used OpenTable and it was easy and quick. I would use it again to make more reservations in the future. Great job!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMBlue Point is not a sophisticatedBlue Point is not a sophisticated restaurant. But, o boy, their chef knows how to choose good fish and cok them. The food comes in ordinary dishes, eaten with ordinary forks, and on tables that do not even have cloth, but you get the feeling eating at home this extra ordinary great fish meal. Waiters are generally mature knowing what the chef is offering and not pushy. After Pricetonians discovered the delights of eating in un-air conditioned, sometimes sunny, sometimes cold small place just outside the restaurant, this small spot has been one the best places eating good food with friends. In the mornings you can see people from the Small World Cafe next to the restaurant drinking their coffies at their tables.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFish and seafood were veryFish and seafood were very fresh and well prepared. Wait staff was attentive and offered good suggestions. Even though it was busy, we were not rushed.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was outstanding. I hadFood was outstanding. I had crab cakes and my wife had shrimp - both wonderful. Service was great - waiter was very informative. Noise level was high but we still had a great conversational dinner with another couple. Our first time at Blue Point, and we'll definitely be back! Mid-week and it was full... reservations a must.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
