Diner Reviews
  • "Food was disappointing. Scallops undercooked. Brussel sprouts tasted like they were boiled, not roasted, shrimp app was VERY salty. Overall, not the place I remember from years ago. And totally overpriced."

  • "Choices go beyond the typical and food was outstanding."

  • "Another great visit to Blue Point Grill. BYOB and outdoor dining with outstanding preparation of seafood. Not just your average fish either, unique fish from New Zealand, Hawaii, etc. One guest did order the scallops and she stated that they were the best she ever had. I've been here a handful of times and never disappointed…..from appetizer to dessert, you can't go wrong! Go and enjoy!"

  • "Blue Point Grill always deliver when it comes to great sea food. Their chilean sea bass is the best fish I've ever eaten."

  • "Food choices were many. Definitely a fish lovers place. Many varieties of oysters mic and match. Deser was a surprise. Very good and home made. Ready to go again"

  • "The Blue Point is a great restaurant if your looking for fresh seafood without driving to the shore. Highly recommend a reservation since seating is on the smaller size. Food is well prepare and very good."

  • "Delicious fresh fish. Fabulous! We loved everything we tried -- shrimp appetizer, tuna main course, grilled salmon. All top notch."

  • "Friendly servers, hostesses and busboys. Fantastic and fresh food every time."
    Dined on 7/21/2014
  • "They have an impressive fish list, including 3 levels of salmon- regular farmed, organic farmed, and wild. It's BYOB but there is a liquor store practically next door. Great kids menu too!"
    Dined on 7/21/2014
  • "The seafood here is perfectly fresh and very varied. The staff are very prompt and courteous and, even though they were very busy and my friend arrived 30 minutes late, I did not feel pressured. The oysters here are always perfect and my char was very well prepared, simple but very well executed. BYO is a big added benefit."

  • "Food was great, a little pricey but when everything is fresh, it's more palatable. Loved sitting outside. Service was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed the Halibut, crab cakes and Rhode Island chowder. The Ceasar salad was good, but not a true ceasar salad. I would return to Blue Point Grill."

  • "The seafood was terrific - my hubby and I had the oyster sampler - a real treat if you like oysters! Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the various oyster choices and we really enjoyed the choices. My lobster was delish and hubby said his sword was the best he's ever had. We were disappointed we did not get an outside table even though we had requested one but overall a very pleasant dining experience"

  • "This was our second time at the Blue Point Grill and we were not disappointed. The lobster bisque and Rhode Island chowder were outstanding, ditto for the crab cakes and etoufee, nice sized portions perfectly prepared and presented. Samantha, our waitress, provided excellent service. Our request for a quiet table was honored (although with the restaurant's small size and popularity, quiet is relative). We're planning a third visit next month."

  • "Very disappointing this time. We've dined here several times and were very happy but this time we both found the food to be somewhat bland, no taste at all and the service certainly left something to be desired. Not very attentive."

  • "We ate outdoors in the early evening and it was a fantastic experience; great food, helpful and friendly server."
    Dined on 7/18/2014
  • "As usual great! Service great prices fair Best sea food we have ever had. Guess we have to live with the noise level"

  • "this seafood byob is Princeton's best....comfortable..great service..and fresh fish and shellfish, simply and perfectly prepared..."
    Dined on 7/17/2014
  • "Our food was fine, taste and size wise, with the fish cooked well and a large variety. However, the lobster in the lobster bisque seemed to be a defrosted addition and the etouffee was not anything like what I know it to be. The mashed potatoes were a little "gluey," not fluffy, but I believe that is just personal preference. Service was appropriate, even for having two children in our party. Knowing how much locals rave about this place, I might give it a second try but am underwhelmed."

  • "Blue Point Grill is an excellent seafood restaurant. Large variety of seafood, all very fresh and well prepared. My Chilean Sea Bass was the best I have ever had: tender, moist and succulent."
    Dined on 7/17/2014
  • "The freshest seafood in the area and, for the ardent fish lovers in our family, it's the very best in the Princeton area."
    Dined on 7/16/2014
  • "Great Food. Great Service. I wish they served wine but there is a liquor store close by."

  • "Business trip in Princeton. Blue Point was a lucky choice. The appetizers were delicious. The crab cakes filled with lumps of crab with little breading. Our server was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant. (We did not realize it was a BYOB until we arrived. There is a liquor store 2 doors away.)"

  • "Blue Point Grill is a great restaurant in Princeton. It offers a variety of seafood and accompaniments so you can have as decadent or healthy a meal as you like. Everything is fresh and tasty and the wait staff really knows the menu and can offer suggestions. In the summer it is great that there is outdoor seating which doubles the number of available tables which they need because it is always busy."

  • "Fresh seafood, good service, BYOB in a great town!! What else would you want!! Whole Black Sea Bass was outstanding Along with the mixed grill combo. Go catch your self some really fresh at Blue Point Grill"

  • "This place is hands down my favorite restaurant in Princeton."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "eat outside even if there is a chill in the air which there was none on this summer night. OUTSTANDING service. It is my place to go for dinner every Friday night."
    Dined on 7/11/2014
  • "Wide variety of very fresh fish and seafood in casual dining atmosphere. BYO wine/beer. Sidewalk tables great in season. Only downside: fish not listed on sustainabity scale, so you have no idea what on the menu has been over-fished."
    Dined on 7/10/2014
  • "A raw bar in Princeton??? Bring your own wine. Guess we aren't use to NJ."
    Dined on 7/9/2014
  • "As always food was excellent. One of the best fish restaurants in central NJ area.. Menu choices are extensive and food is well prepared. Great fish w/o going to shore."
    Dined on 7/9/2014
  • "Simply grilled Portuguese octopus was better than what we have had in the Algarve. Grilled sea base and salmon combo entree was light and the best. Service was fun and professional. BYOB allows you to bring a nice expensive bottle of wine from home instead of paying the high restaurant prices. That way you can spend on great food and experience."
    Dined on 7/7/2014
  • "Did not know there was not liquor until we sat down to order. Waiter said there was a wine store nearby."
    Dined on 7/6/2014
  • "We were seated outside on Pine St.- not a good location. Crab soup was good but the Sole was below average-over cooked and very dry. Baked potato was OK, but not enough butter on the table and the waitress did not come by until we had finished so no chance to get more butter. the wine service was fine. I would not order Sole again at $30/ platter."

  • "Wonderful seafood! Fit for foodies. Only drawback is that when BPG is crowded (which it usually is), busboys try to take your food away before you are finished! They must be told to "chill" and allow the diners to savor the delightful food."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "Delicious Scallops...a must have. Nice outdoor dining and in a great area of Princeton."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "As always superb wait staff great but always noisy!"
    Dined on 7/4/2014
  • "I've been there many times for dinner. Food and service always at worst "nice", but usually "very nice" or better. I love their selections of raw oysters, and pulpo. I've never had a bad meal there, nor questionable service even when they're very busy. Saturday dinner bookings at the 6:30 PM timeframe need to be done at least one week in advance because they are so popular."

  • "the good food. I have been going to Blue Point more than 10 years and have enjoyed fresh seafood and lively atmosphere. Last Wed. experience was so terrible that I decided never to go back. The noise level was unbearable and the service was too slow. We had to get up without our coffee."
    Dined on 7/2/2014
  • "Great food, nice ambiance but the wait staff was less than desirable. I would still give it a go again since the food was great."

  • "It was my first visit, and I wil definitely be going back. The food was exceptional."

  • "I first visited Blue Point Grill last year while on business and was thoroughly impressed. I was recently near Princeton with my son and took him there for dinner. We both had great meals and great service. I only wish I lived closer."
