Blue Point Coastal CuisineAwesome experienceEverything was perfect, from the welcome to the super servers and, of course, the food! The wine list has a nice variety for every budget. We can always count on a great experience at a Cohen restaurant! Thank you once again!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Place in The Gas LampGreat looking restaurant and the service was excellent. Very good and innovative fish selections. Parking, as usual in the Gas Lamp, is a bit of a challnege, but they do have valet parking which is a plus. We went here on our anniversary and were pleased that we did.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMYOU SHOULD EAT HEREOUTSTANDING. In the middle of the gas lamp. Lots to watch and see. Had the surf and turf... A. MAZ. ING!
Great service. Used the Cohen restaurant card we got at Costco and used the passport card. Dinner with drinks $63.00. Score!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMSerious Gaslight SeafooderOn my one visit I was impressed by Blue Point’s wide ranging menu emphasizing seafood, although the land offerings are more than just tokens. After a half dozen high quality oysters, I couldn’t turn down a special salmon prepared with a bacon-tinged barbecue sauce, matched with a creamy polenta, fried green tomatoes, and a bed of arugula; the combination was very effective. Good martinis are served in a small cocktail glass, with a substantial residual volume brought to the table in a iced flask. Good wine list. There’s abundant sidewalk seating at this corner location, but despite the beautiful evening I like most diners chose the less hectic and nicely appointed interior.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was delicious andThe food was delicious and there was a good selection of cocktails and alcohol. The wine list was overpriced.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMLate for the show.Dinner was good although we were almost late getting to our show. Took a long time to get the bill taken care of.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorite restaurantsOne of our favorite restaurants in Southern Cal. Love the ambiance - reminds me a "San Francisco" style restaurant. We always ask for a booth - comfortable and sophisticated dining and very friendly attentive service. The appetizers are outstanding - we had calmari - really one of the best we have had anywhere and the lobster bisque is to die for. We both ordered the trout stuffed with dungeness crabmeat. My wife has had this before and said it was better. It was good but not great. I usually order the doral (a grouper) when we go as it is outstanding. This is a wonderful restaurant with great ambiance and service.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMEating here was an extreemlyEating here was an extreemly enjoyable. The halibut (special that night) was probably the best seafood dish I've ever eaten. I will definitely go back.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe arrived late for our reservationWe arrived late for our reservation and everyone was just terrific. Just as on our first visit, the service was amazing, the food was delicious and fresh. I loved the martinis, the wine selection and most of all the oyster selection. We will visit again when in San Diego in the future as this is the best seafood restaurant there!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food as always! I hadGreat Food as always! I had the diver Maine scallops. They were cooked perfectly. I do not like ratatouille which was suppose to be served with the dish, so the waiter said just pick what sides you would like instead. I had the Potato Galette (so yummy)and Asparagus. Great ambience but we went early because we had theatre tickets at Copley. The waiter gave us great advice on parking for Copley. We had a great night out....thanks Blue Point!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat seafood restaurant inGreat seafood restaurant in Gaslamp. Food was great, choices were plentiful3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMEh. It was good but not great,Eh. It was good but not great, and not worth the price. My tiny portion of fish was underwhelming and under seasoned. Dessert wasn't fantastic either. It was okay, but I'm mildly disappointed for my $175. I wrote in my reservation that it was a birthday dinner and it was never mentioned.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMSome of the best sea foodSome of the best sea food in San Diego with great service and fair prices.

For the entree, I had the lobster crusted dorado. The fish itself was nicely cooked, but the wild mushrooms were truly outstanding. For dessert, I had the bread pudding, which was warm and comforting. It was pretty busy on a Thursday night, but the food came out very quickly. The waitstaff was very informed and professional.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food Excellent service....soGood food Excellent service....so good that we gave a 30% tip. No wonder the food was so very GOOD.....it was a Cohn Resturant Group! Anytime anyone makes it to San Diego, you will not fail by having dinner at a Cohn Group resturant. They are good and consistent! No I do not there!2/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Real Deal. Excellent SeafoodExcellent in every way! My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner with very attentive service. The preparation was superb...broiled not deep fried and made with fine, fresh crabmeat.I enjoyed the pan seared dayboat scallops with the delicious white cheddar grits and arugula. The black cod served with a risotto cake was equally as delicious. Great wine list too.We look forward to dining at Blue Point when we return to San Diego .2/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
