Our server was very attentive and knew all about the food. The food was incredible. EXTREMELY WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY!! My recommendation is to order the New Orleans Fire Cracker Oysters. I loved everything but i felt the Shellfish Panroast was a little sweet. When i read the ingredients i thought it would have a little bit more of a spice kick, but it was great just the same.The presentation of the food was INCREDIBLE and that is very important me.The ambiance and decor is perfect ouside and inside was beautiful and captivating as well.The service is amazing,pleasant,and friendly,and i am so glad we finally got to come to BLUE MOON. cozy & qaint5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMloved itenjoyed lunch very much. Which to me means while you sit along the water if humid outside it is a little uncomfortable. They do have tables inside but the doors are kept open along the back so the humidity exists. Excellent attentive service without being overbearing. Half of our party was 15 minutes late and the staff did not seem aggravated by it. Other half arrived 15 minutes early but were seated right away. Very nice view on the deck, Great diverse menu, something for everyone. I had the mahi sandwich and thought it was bland, though two others had the mahi entree and loved it. Only mild gripe was the cake service - we opted to pay the extra $3 fee per plate to have the cake sliced and served with whipped cream and berries - it was nice presentation but $3 for one small raspberry, 1 small strawberry and a sprinkling of chocolate shavings seems excessive. However, this time we were surprised to encounter a very quiet atmosphere. We will definitely return for an early dinner if it is always like that. So when I asked my wife where she wanted to go for a "special" birthday she thought of Blue Moon. They had our requested table by the water (enclosed) and all set up with the flowers I had delivered. We brought along three couples who had never been there and everyone loved their meals. They also allowed you to bring one bottle of wine for a reasonable $20 corkage fee. The only complaint I would have is our waiter was not as outgoing as I would have liked. He was not bad but just had trouble smiling and getting into the happy occasion taking place at our table. There was a choice of large and jumbo I briefly heard after they had ordered. I'm pretty sure they ordered the large, but am not positive. I ordered the shellfish panroast (delicious) and my father ordered the lump crab & corn grouper (also delicious). We also had the new orleans firecracker oysters and pan roasted diver sea scallops (both very tasty and cooked perfectly). My only complaint was that our server never mentioned the actual size of the stone crabs, which were quite small, but made to sound pretty large. It is well worth the price. Starting with a 'food tour' with our server and ending with a special plate of birthday desserts brought to the table for our friend, the brunch was outstanding. Service was continuous, prompt and friendly. We never had to wait or wonder if our plates would be refilled or removed or if we'd get water or another mimosa. The decadent food selection was of the highest quality - from meats to sushi to desserts and everything in between - delicious. But of course the stars of the show were the fish entrees, we had the Halibut special and the local Mahi Mahi. Each was simply perfect. The appetizers were amazing (pan seared scallops) as we're the fried shrimp with jumbo lump crab cakes on top! We went 4 adults and 2 kids, everyone loved their food but me. Unfortunately i decided to try something new other than what i usually get ( the grouper) but I ordered the swordfish but it was too dry. Everything around it was delicious but I didn't like this fish at all. 2 people ordered the grouper and loved it of course and the other one got the special which was the halibut dish and she enjoyed it as well. The sushi was excellent and the Romaine salad with walnuts, blue cheese and I guess a wine vinegar was one of the best salads I have had in a while. The selection of seafood and traditional carvery items was broad enough for anyone's tastes. The wine list, though not extensive, had enough of a range to pair well with the menu. I will return but next time will be aware of the impact of sitting on the lower deck outside subject to direct sun. We drove quite a distance from our hotel to get to this restaurant because I had read about it online. It was worth every mile we spent in that cab. Ambiance on the waterway was gorgeous. The service was helpful, friendly and attentive without being intrusive. All of our waiters recommendations were spot on. The food...FABULOUS. We loved every dish that came to the table. Seafood was fresh and prepared in creative ways that never overpowered the main ingredient. Crab meat crusted grouper (?), fig and olive swordfish, lamb chops and a shellfish pan roast were all delicious. The sharing forks were flying!
