Food was great, the service was too! We asked for a quiet area for a business dinner and we were seated in a quiet section of the restaurant and the location was perfect for our discussions.

Went to Blue Marlin to celebrate my birthday , the service was great. The attendant noticed that I had a birthday card laying around ,guessed that it was my birthday and brought a cake after dinner, that was very thoughtful and sweet of her. We had a great time!

Crab cakes are offered as an entree with collard greens and red rice or atop a green "meal sized" salad. Both dishes are yummy. Hard to tell which is my favorite. Never had a bad meal or a bad experience here.

Nice building at old train station. Food was just not good and waitress brought out our entrees 2 minutes after the appetizer we were just starting. We asked her to wait. She brought them out the minute we finished the appetizer and they were not hot. Just kind of ruined dinner.

We went for dinner at the Blue Marlin before a show at Township Auditorium. The service was prompt, the staff courteous and helpful, but not overbearing. We shared appetizers, (loved the calamari), and had excellent rib-eye, crabcakes, and mahi-mahi. Enjoyed both draft beer and wine with our meals-excellent selections of both. Prices were appropriate for the food and service. We loved the place, and will definitely be back!

My husband and I are new residents to the Columbia area, so we went to Blue Marlin to check out the Vista area that we have been hearing and reading about. The food was very good--I had Firecracker Flounder and my husband had Bienville, but I was especially impressed with the craft cocktails served at the Blue Marlin. Having just arrived from the Chicago area, I find the cocktail offerings at Blue Marlin absolutely delightful. My husband had a Dark & Stormy and I had the Smoked Hibisco Sour. Next time I'll try the Ebb and Flow!

Food was excellent, waiter acted like he had something or somewhere more important to be, constantly looking around the whole time he talked to us. Had to flag down another waitress to get our bill, since he was no where to be found. Apparently he was on an extended smoking break because when he finally brought our bill he wreaked of smoke.

I was given this recommendation by a friend and I went to eat there with my daughter while traveling to visit USC for a college tour. The Mahi I ordered was good but not notable. The shrimp and grits had good depth of flavor but should have been half the size with some greens on the side. Our waiter was robotic; present, mildly attentive, but devoid of personality or cheer. We opted to go elsewhere for dessert. I'd recommend it because it was decent but not with enthusiasm.

We had a mini-reunion of 4 friends. Got a reservation, but arrived early. We were seated and graciously allowed to eat and visit for 3 1/2 hours. The staff was attentive but left us to visit. It was a great occasion for us and the Blue Marlin helped it to be so. Also, we all enjoyed our lunch!

We just moved to Columbia from Myrtle Beach and having tried several different restaurants in the Columbia Metro area, we found the Blue Marlin up there at the top of our list. I have had Shrimp and Grits in different restaurants and found my plate at the Blue Marlin was very good. My wife loves Fried Green Tomatoes. She was reluctant to order these not knowing anyone who has ordered them before but, she also was pleasantly surprised how good they were. We both decided we would return again trying different Southern dishes. Dishes were priced average and the service was excellent. Kudos to the Blue Marlin.

Good place for a nice quiet birthday celebration! My husband and I enjoyed it. The ambience was nice. I read the reviews as I always do. Therefore I was looking for certain things. Noise was suppose to be a problem but once we were seated it was not a problem at all. Wait staff was very attentive. We arrived a little early for our 8 pm reservation and was still seated promptly. Food was good. Nice and hot.

We ate here on a Saturday night with our 2 children. It was a lovely restaurant, very classy setting that also had a kids menu and colors. That is a major plus! It took us a few minutes to get our order taken but the food was great. I had the She Crab soup, the Ahi Tuna and the Mahi Orleans. I was stuffed and it was worth it. The prices are reasonable as well. Great find for us out of towners!

My Husband and I were celebrating our five-year wedding Anniversary and I am beyond satisfied with the Blue Marlin. It was our first time dining there and what a great first impression. We will definitely return. My Husband is still talking about our dinner there on June 20th. I'm happy that I surprised him with a great experience at the Blue Marlin. The champagne from Italy was very smooth. I can still taste the firecracker shrimp appetizers and the filet mignon entree. Wow!

I was visiting my wife who had just graduated from ft jackson and she wanted to go to a nice seafood restuarant. I found the Blue Marlin on open table and we were very impressed. Being from Seattle we are accustomed to decent Seafood and this did not let us down. We started with the pecan crusted calamari and my wife had the orleans mahi mahi. I had a bacon wrapped steak carpet bagger style. Great food, very speedy service(almost too fast to be a romantic dinner), and good atmosphere.

It was too noisy. Everything was rushed. I felt like I was in a fast food restaurant. Oysters really good. The bread was killer. The slaw was not very good. I wish I had a choice of a baked potatoes instead of french fries. Or at least the mashed potatoes. Couldn't figure out why it was so noisy, more than usual in a restaurant that size.
