Welcome to the Blue Marlin Restaurant, proudly serving "A Taste of the Southern Low Country," located in Columbia South Carolina's thriving Congaree Vista District.

Stretching from Savannah to the South, and Georgetown to the North, the Low Country is resplendent with the bounties of the sea and coastal marshlands. Succulent shrimp, oysters, crabs, crawfish and catfish abound. Lush greens, corn, rice and ripe red tomatoes are plentiful.   • "Good place for a nice quiet birthday celebration! My husband and I enjoyed it. The ambience was nice. I read the reviews as I always do. Therefore I was looking for certain things. Noise was suppose to be a problem but once we were seated it was not a problem at all. Wait staff was very attentive. We arrived a little early for our 8 pm reservation and was still seated promptly. Food was good. Nice and hot."

  • "We ate here on a Saturday night with our 2 children. It was a lovely restaurant, very classy setting that also had a kids menu and colors. That is a major plus! It took us a few minutes to get our order taken but the food was great. I had the She Crab soup, the Ahi Tuna and the Mahi Orleans. I was stuffed and it was worth it. The prices are reasonable as well. Great find for us out of towners!"

  • "My Husband and I were celebrating our five-year wedding Anniversary and I am beyond satisfied with the Blue Marlin. It was our first time dining there and what a great first impression. We will definitely return. My Husband is still talking about our dinner there on June 20th. I'm happy that I surprised him with a great experience at the Blue Marlin. The champagne from Italy was very smooth. I can still taste the firecracker shrimp appetizers and the filet mignon entree. Wow!"

  • "I was visiting my wife who had just graduated from ft jackson and she wanted to go to a nice seafood restuarant. I found the Blue Marlin on open table and we were very impressed. Being from Seattle we are accustomed to decent Seafood and this did not let us down. We started with the pecan crusted calamari and my wife had the orleans mahi mahi. I had a bacon wrapped steak carpet bagger style. Great food, very speedy service(almost too fast to be a romantic dinner), and good atmosphere."

  • "It was too noisy. Everything was rushed. I felt like I was in a fast food restaurant. Oysters really good. The bread was killer. The slaw was not very good. I wish I had a choice of a baked potatoes instead of french fries. Or at least the mashed potatoes. Couldn't figure out why it was so noisy, more than usual in a restaurant that size."

  • "First off I made a reservation which was great. 2nd table was wet and dirty we watched the hostess wipe down tables with the same rag over and over no chemicals were used and crumbs were just pushed on the seats. Service was slow and not personable. The food was descent but the rest just ruined the experience will not be back."

Constant noise from the kitchen and the seemingly rushed pace of our meal were the only negatives (we were in and out in 30 minutes). Otherwise, a lovely restaurant with a great choice of food and balanced wine list. One does get the feeling they assume they are a finer restaurant than they are. Would say it is a wonderful mid-level sea food place. Definetly not chain, but also not the high end they seem to think of themselves as."

Right outside of the restaurant windows it looked like a bikers convention and in the ladies restroom there were smelly people changing their clothes and letting their babies crawl on the floor. Overall we were appalled! Very pricey and not worth the amount charged."

  • "It was my husband's and my 10th anniversary! Note was made to that affect, but was not acknowledged by anyone. My food was great. The wine was fine. My husband's dinner was horrible. The mahi was tiny and tasteless. It was on a bed of mashed potatoes that had to be instant. The potatoes were soooo salty that they were only good for gargling if you had a sore throat. It was very disappointing, and it will be a while before we go there again."

  • "My wife and I agreed - everything was excellent (not necessarily the best we've ever had, but very very good). We had spinach/crab dip for starters, then we both had creole/cajun fish dishes. We ended with dessert - key lime pie and a brownie with ice cream. Seafood was very good, especially for a spot 2 hours from the coast. Atmosphere was great. We most definitely plan on returning."

It was also topped with the wrong sauce. Although the dish was still pretty good, it was not what we ordered. We were at an Early seating (4:45pm) for Mother's day and they still could not get service out on time or correct."
