Blue Mango RestaurantLoved Blue MangoI've been to Blue Mango before for lunch, but wanted to try dinner there. My wife and I had good table service and a bartender that came to the table to discuss the types of drinks he made. He took extra care to make a wonderful specialty drink.
Our food was just excellent - I really can't say anything else than that. Plus, the owner brought out a complimentary appetizer dish that really showed that he appreciated our patronage. I had read several negative reviews regarding bland food. I'm a spice/heat fanatic and my wife likes spicy food but not over the top. We ordered our Vindaloo at heat number 3 (on a 1-5 scale, with five being the hottest) and it was moderately spicy. I simply ordered some additional heat on the side and was quickly obliged.
Phenomenal food, although the salad was a little bland. Three trips now and everything we have tried has been wonderful. Two trips with large groups & all have been pleased. Amazing new flavor experiences. Try the appetizers, too.
Meat dishes are generous & tender, but they also have vegetarian & vegan fare. The server will ask you to chose how spicy you want your food, from 1 to 5, with 5 being very hot & 1 very mild. I learned that Curry is not a spice, it is a method of preparing food. Blue Mangos curries are delicious. They also have many selections that are not curries. Excellent selection of beer & wine.
