Blue GingerDining OutThe food was great, but the portions were very small.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFavoriteThe Dining experience at Blue Ginger is always a wonderful experience. Can't wait to get back!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAll the entrees were cookedAll the entrees were cooked to perfection. The Sable fish was outstanding and flavorful. The waitstaff provided excellent service, without being over bearing.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExemplary food and serviceWe have eaten at Blue Ginger before and expected the food to be adventurous and delicious and we were not disappointed. We have also had wonderful service there. But this particular waitress was far above and beyond. She didn't need to handle our special requests - she anticipated them! No worries about food allergies either. Altogether, it was a special celebratory evening5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMNever Blue about Blue GingerThis is maybe the 5th or 6th time we've gone here for a special occasion, just me and my husband, and we love it every time. I had the butterfish and it was fabulous. We also had his famous fried calamari with Thai dipping sauce and we both got dessert. We'd rather spend a lot of money for a food experience than dine out often and have food which is not as good as we make ourselves.
Parking is easy in the rear...Try it if you want really good food served incredibly artistically with some surprise flavors. Probably not the best choice for people with limited palates.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMHad wonderful lunch. Our firstHad wonderful lunch. Our first lunch there. Always love the dinners. Just about one of the best in the Boston area.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMJust perfect every time, althoughJust perfect every time, although quite pricey. We only can go once in a while but are always happy at Blue Ginger. Wish the menu changed at bit more though...4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding in all aspects.Outstanding food preparation. My wife says that her New Zealand Rack of Lamb was the best she has ever had! My Scallops were excellent as well. Our waitress was fabulous and attentive without being obtrusive. Perfectly balanced! We are from California and this is the third time that we have dined at this restaurant. We will repeat and repeat and repeat!4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary DinnerWe have been going to Blue Ginger for years and have never been disappointed.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AM(Almost) PerfectExcept for a mistake in our meal selection, the overall experience was very enjoyable.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food at Blue Ginger isThe food at Blue Ginger is creatively prepared and consistently good. I was not disappointed. Everything lived up to expectations. Food & service were amazing.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and the staff are the best!Food is outstanding and the staff is even better. We moved to the Boston area 3 years ago and it is by far our favorite place. I also hosted a dinner for 25 people there recently and they did a fantastic job. Many of the guests had never been there and the feedback I received from them was outstanding.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were very impressed withWe were very impressed with Blue Ginger. The food was very good and our waitress was excellent.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have dined at Blue GingerWe have dined at Blue Ginger several times. It has always been a memorable experience. The menu is creative and the presentation is excellent. The service is very attentive and informative.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat night!Great night......servers were complaining about issues to the bartenders, which customers shouldn't be able to see and hear. Ming was in the dining room chatting with people and even stop at or table for a few minutes. Great meal4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great, restaurantFood was great, restaurant a bit noisy and light kinda low for us oldies.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food. expensive!!Outstanding food. expensive!! Special occasions only.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMIts reputation precedes it!I've always wanted to go here, being a Ming Tsai fan, and had heard mixed reviews but wanted to try it for myself. Our waiter was wonderful, very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was terrific, though the calamari was disappointing. Just tasteless. I loved the butterfish and my husband had the Tuna Poke for appetizers and the scallops for dinner. Next time I have to have the Poke; it was delicious! It is quite expensive so this will be one of our special occasion spots, but it was worth it!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMI was surprised to see BGI was surprised to see BG open for lunch but I recently took a colleague to lunch for her birthday and the lunch was superb for all of us. Even picky and unadventurous eaters can find delicious choices. The rectangular bentos set off the food beautifully. The food and service were all first rate.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday LunchWent to Blue Ginger to celebrate my son's birthday. His sister and fiancé flew here from Oregon and we had a great lunch before we had to take them to Logan Airport. Thanks Blue Ginger. My daughter has all of Ming's cookbooks.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing foodThis was our first experience at this restaurant. We had an early reservation and were seated immediately according to our preference. Our waitress checked on us frequently but without being a bother. The food was great. The spring roll and tuna apps were amazing. The beef and the lamb entrees were delicious. However, the winner for the night - the cardamom ice cream on the chocolate cake. They should sell it in quart size to go containers! We will certainly return many times.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't Miss Restaurant Week at BGBlue Ginger is expensive but worth the price. The Restaurant Week menu featured a phenomenal mussel appetizer, a flank steak exquisitely prepared and presented, and creative desserts. Love the American-Asian fusions. Don't forget to order the great coffee!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI don't like spicy food soI don't like spicy food so there wasn't a huge selection. I paid $12 extra for their signature "bluefish" dish because it looked like the least spicy choice. The fish was delicious but the sushi was spicy. Even though it was restaurant week, with two drinks and a cup of coffee the tab was $ 90 a piece. It was good but not worth that so that is why I wouldn't recommend it.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a beautiful dinnerWe had a beautiful dinner at Blue Ginger again. Service was great and especially the host staff were exceptional. Food was delicious although I have to say I thought it was better the last time we dined here.
All in all Blue Ginger is one of the best restaurants in the Boston area
Will come back again soon we hope!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI was disappointed becauseI was disappointed because I have heard so many things about Blue Ginger from people. There is definitely a buzz on the street about it. The salad was good, the main course was nothing to write home about. It was the shrimp with yakisoba noodles. The shrimp were tiny and there were only like 5 or 6 and the dish just wasn't very tasty. I've had better at the chinese food place down the street from my house. The desserts in my opinion were the best tasting thing we had. I had a lemon cake that was phenominal. Not sure if I would return. I felt they could have put out some better choices for Restaurant Week. I looked at the regular menu items are most are around $41. For that price, I expect phenominal. I do not mind paying for great food.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time to Blue Ginger.FoodFirst time to Blue Ginger.Food was wonderful, good restaurant to try on restaurant week. Bartender was great, asked what we liked and made a drink to special for our taste. Server was good, knew the menu, restaurant was busy and very loud.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is amazing! ServiceThe food is amazing! Service is excellent, though it was a bit busy and noisy due to restaurant week. In the past, it's been a bit quieter with phenomenal service. Good size dishes, left incredibly full and satisfied.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been to Blue GingerWe have been to Blue Ginger several times, usually to celebrate a special occasion since we live on the south shore. As always, the food was outstanding. This time we had the restaurant week menu; the choices were excellent. The PEI mussels as an appetizer were delicious. The salmon and, of course the butterfish were as well.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was perfectly preparedEverything was perfectly prepared and original, plating was beautiful, food was delicious!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experience. AlwaysWonderful experience. Always delicious food. Mussels were amazing! Great glass of wine. Definitely can't go wrong with dinner here.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMOur waitress was great. UnfortunatOur waitress was great. Unfortunately, she didn't introduce herself and we forgot to ask her name. We didn't notice that some of the restaurant week menu items had an additional charge. The waitress was good enough to remove the extra charge since she didn't go over the menu.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent with intetestingFood was excellent with intetesting combinations. The butter fish lived up to its name with a texture so soft it melted. The crab cakes were delicious, but predictable. No real chances taken there. The prices were crazy. We went for restraurant week, so the price was fixed. There was an up charge for everything, extra $12 for butter fish, $5 extra for crabcakes, etc. Yes, the food was good, but not worth the $144 for two price during restaurant week (that price does include 2 drinks).3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly recommended!Went the Blue Ginger for "Restaurant Week" in Boston, and all three courses were fantastic. The mussels were probably the best and freshest I remember, the fried chicken with pineapple sauce was delicious and perfectly cooked, and the lemon cake with ice cream dessert was a perfect combination of flavors. Highly recommended!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the best food I haveThis was the best food I have had in a long time. There was nothing we tasted that was not spectacular. Service was excellent and attentive, portions were very large while very gourmet. We tasted and shared and had a lot of trouble deciding whose choice was better. Blue Ginger is an hour from my house and well worth the drive.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual Blue Ginger has impressedAs usual Blue Ginger has impressed me by providing a perfect experience. Everything from the food to the service was top quality and there was nothing I would have changed.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was fabulous! JustEverything was fabulous! Just one thing, as the package for the leftover was not rightly placed in a paper bag, the food got a kind of mess in the pack. It was still tasty, but I felt it would have been better, if it had been placed horizontally.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMEven though we went to BlueEven though we went to Blue Ginger during Restaurant Week, we received ample portions and top-quality food, as well as service. This place is a real "find"!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMBlue Ginger Always SatisfiesBeen to Blue Ginger several times-it's our special occasions place...this time for my wife's birthday. Always come away feeling GREAT about my experience & this time was no exception. One change from past experiences was we got there very early so we had a drink and a couple things off the bar menu-the taro and sweet potato fries with chili aioli and the glazed edamame; both far surpassed their small price ($4) in taste and quantity. For dinner, my wife had the Korean marinated flatiron steak from the Restaurant Week specials menu while I had the Korean marinated rack of lamb from the regular menu. First time neither of us ordered the lobster, yet both were outstanding, cooked exactly as ordered. We'd definitely order them again!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMA very pleasant and deliciousA very pleasant and delicious lunch.
A very pleasant and delicious lunch.
13/22/2013 12:00:00 AMBlue Ginger is consistentlyBlue Ginger is consistently a wonderful treat for any occasion or simply a wonderful meal in a relaxed, gracious setting. The food is exquisite and inventive, and we are always treated like royalty. Who could ask for anything more?3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough have dined at BlueAlthough have dined at Blue Ginger many times, went for restaurant week. Blue Ginger has not lost sight of what restaurant week is all about. They showcased amazing full size dishes and offered matching wine at $6 a glass. The server was great and offered helpful suggestions. Many restaurants these days try to lure you in during restaurant week but then try and make up for it in bar charges. Not Blue Ginger. Can't wait to go back!!!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOn their game!Excellent blending of tastes restaurant week menu was vibrant. The salmon was perfect. Flat iron steak a tad too rare in center but overall quite a treat to eat for that cut of meat. Lemon dessert was a nice finish.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was outstanding asThe food was outstanding as usual. This was restaurant week and we were able to select from the regular or prix fixed menu. the only issue was that the service seemed rushed in the beginnng, but slowed down at dessert.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAs great as expectedExpected big things from this restaurant as I have heard nothing but good things about it and I was not disappointed. Our waitress was terrific. Food was terrific. We went for Restaurant Week and they asked us if we wanted that menu when we sat down. The other restaurant we went to for this occasion did not - we had to ask for it.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMRestaurant week dinner. GreatRestaurant week dinner. Great selection on the menu with good options for all 5 guests at our table. The hosts kept us informed when our table was late and gave us choices for a different table. Wines paired with the meal were generous pours - only one choice for the entree which was a pretty heavy red that didn't complement all entree selections.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOur second time there andOur second time there and it was even BETTER than our first visit. Outstanding food, service, and setting.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
