We arrived a bit late (I called ahead) due to weather-related cab shortages but the staff was gracious and worked with us. At first glance, a very crowded and crazy space didn't bode well for a relaxing meal but that wasn't the case. We sat upstairs where it was more quiet. Our server knew of our time constraints and all was prompt without feeling rushed. Food was clean and crisp with a lot of interesting flavor; the menu had a lot of variety - something for everyone. The food is always good quality and it is very good value considering the location on Times Square. One thing we we have found on several occassions is that the food is not always hot. This time we discovered why. Food seemed to come out of the kitchen on trays, was then uncovered and waited for staff to deliver to the tables. In our case my wife's entree sat for 5mins. We pointed this out to a manager who was very apologetic and immediately went into the kitchen and shortly afterwards, food stopped sitting out before service to the table. We were rewarded with a free desert. Now that is what I call service!!! Hopefully this is manintained in future. I had the sushi and she had the filet mignon which they cooked exactly as she requested. Staff was courteous and very friendly, made us feel very comfortable. Beautiful restaurant with very cool decor. Large enough for groups and parties without feeling crowded. We loved it so much we returned the next night for dinner again. Equally delicious and the managers remembered it was her birthday! The white wine the waiter suggested was tasty and light. Our raw clams and jumbo shrimp cocktail were sumptuous, and my halibut, gnocchi et al was delicious. The waiter was very kind and accommodating. The ONLY problem was that my dining companion's filet mignon, ordered medium, at first came out well done. After sending it back, it returned the second time too rare. Finally, the third time, it came back medium (and tasted great). The waiter and the manager were both apologetic, and truly worked make everything right. The atmosphere was modern and classy, and the profiteroles and even the bread were fab. Being gluten free its always nice to have a restaurant that can accommodate your needs & they always do. The servers are very knowledgeable. The fish is, as always, perfectly prepared. Love that they give you a complimentary Bellini or Mimosa with brunch. Makes it that much more festive. Love the offerings here for brunch- not your typical french toast/omelette selections.
Specials of the day were delicious and the special dessert- a pineapple upside down cake- was excellent.
Our server, Brian was very attentive but gave us the time we needed to enjoy our meal in a leisurely fashion.

My only objection, and this was very different from last time, was the noise level and general casualness of the place. I remembered it as a much more elegant, quiet place.
