Blue Fin - New YorkPerfect pre-theaterThe pacing is quick but not rushed. Perfect for pre-theater. The grilled shrimp were delicious, juicy, not dry. Creme brûlée was outstanding. The manager was on site and approachable with any requests.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMStaff was outstanding ourStaff was outstanding our waiter Danny tended to our birthday celebration needs. David Ferrier the general manager was top notch he took time to take our picture for my fiance's birthday and spent another 10 or 15 minutes with us after we had asked about new years eve celebration for 2014. The food, drinks and dessert was 5 Stars.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experienceWe popped into Blue Fin for a light lunch before the theatre on our recent wedding anniversary. When we told them we were celebrating they not only sent over prosecco to start our meal, but dessert with a painted plate to complete it. They were warm and friendly and everything we ate was delicious. We are big fans of the BRGuest group and Blue Fin is a part of that terrific family6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial BirthdayMy boyfriend and I were out in the city celebrating his birthday on June 9. It was our first dining experience at Blue Fin and we enjoyed it so much. From the service, the food and ambiance of the restaurant, it was top notch.
We look forward to dining at Blue Fin again in the near future!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBlue Fin 060813We went to Blue Fin after a Stauirday matinee. Food was delicious , martinis very good. Kevin was our waiter and he was terrific from the first greeting until we left. Attentive, offered suggestions and was moving around the dining area very fast for all his customers. 5 stars to Kevin.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMService an issue and quite noisyFood when it finally came was tasty although we ordered our sushi without sesame seeds it came with. Appetizers took so long to come out the Manager ran it over to us instead of the runners. Very high ceilings and pretty interiors but quite noisy. I understand theater district to be pricy and noisy so it is expected. Large restaurant with deceivingly small outside facade makes for a surprisingly large interior. Well known interior designers did do a nice job.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFish on BroadwayAlways fresh fish, well prepared, attractively served. For a large space, Blue Fin always feels intimate. The servers are always attentive and pleasantly accommodating. The chopped salad was tasty -- not necessarily worth $12 though. The Branzini was perfectly cooked and accompanied with very well spiced sauce and a little crunch.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for pre-theaterGreat place for pre-theater or anything in that area! Excellent food.....6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Restaurant in Time SquareWe love this restaurant, we go every time we are in NY. Great Location, great food, the best seafood tower ever made, they must have invented it. Love to take family there love to take clients. We had the best waitress this time, she was so on top of everything.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA Go-There-Again PlaceI would return to Blue Fin. It had a great seafood menu and the service was excellent. It is also conveniently located for the Theater.
Even though the place is dramatically huge, the decor is fun and it's a great open space. Overall, liked it there.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWelcome HomeI love NYC and being at Blue Fin reminds me of everything that is good about this great city. Dinner was timed perfectly for the opening of the curtain. She loved it all as did I.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic EVERYTHING!Great menu.
Very friendly and professional staff.
Decor is sophisticated and inviting!
The halibut and grilled shrimp were amazing.
The use of fresh ingredients is the key!

Everything was perfect - especially the food (we had the tuna burger and the lobster roll). Service is expedient but not at all rushed. Now I'm looking forward to next time.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMMy top tenThird visit. Missed the jazz as went early. Loved the food and the wine. Will return.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMTimes Square GemFirst time experience was enjoyable due to the company, times square atmospher and excellent food and service. It is a regular for me when in NY.
Great location / fun Bar / Fantastic atmosphere5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMa pleasant brunchWe met some friends who are kosher here, and the only problem was their limited number of choices... but the food was nice.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best opening act on BroadwayTerrific way to start your Broadway experience before a show is a great meal and this place has dozens to choose from. Add on a beautifully designed space and an attractive crowd and good service you got it all.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMLocation Location LocationConvenient for pre-theater Took my granddaughter to see "Annie" at matinee Service was very slow, difficult to get the waitpersons attention no manager on the floor , but still a good pre-theater choice5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA NYC Night To RememberThe Ca' Del Magro Italian white wine was
delicious. Perfect for a seafood dinner after
a Broadway show. The food excellent with
an incredible service. The ambiance very
romantic and enjoyable. .5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Sevice and FoodThis restaurant surprised me. I thought this will be another over-priced-tourist-ripping-off restaurant. But Blue Fin is not, the price is acceptable for me (For students like me, i think its okay to eat this once in a while) It's about 20-30 bucks for the entrees. I highly recommend the appetizer crab lump (I forgot the name, it has avocado in it.) The Entrees were fine, but are not very impressive like the oysters and the appetizer. I ordered the big eye tuna, and the scottish salmon for main course. Anyway, the biggest surprise for me is the dessert! The creme brulee is soo tasty! I will recommend this to the tourist if you want to have a fine dine night. I agree that you can find better else where, but this is one of the safe choices.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMsuperb restaurantAtmosphere, food, service excellent, but I would suggest passing on the "salted" caramel cake....little taste other than sugar taste.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative Fish DishesExcellent preparation and presentation of fish. The spring rolls are outstanding and then you get to the main course. A real gem in Times Square.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMTimes Square GemAwesome food! Excellent menu selection. The food was very fresh and very tasty. The small jazz band played quietly and was very romantic.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMTuna Tartare Ruled the DayI try to avoid Times Sq restaurants because they're often very crowded and seem to sacrifice a great menu for mass-appeal but we required a meal near the theater. We arrived a bit late (I called ahead) due to weather-related cab shortages but the staff was gracious and worked with us. At first glance, a very crowded and crazy space didn't bode well for a relaxing meal but that wasn't the case. We sat upstairs where it was more quiet. Our server knew of our time constraints and all was prompt without feeling rushed. Food was clean and crisp with a lot of interesting flavor; the menu had a lot of variety - something for everyone. Two dinner companions had the tuna tartare and dreamily recalled it for days :)5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite stopTry to include this every time we visit New York. Has everything.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMBest in NYCExperience could not have been better. Food and service were outstanding. Eric Woods deserves 5 stars!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMconsistently relaible & excellentfresh fish, sushi and more - lovely presentation - spacious seating (for NYC) - good wine list and very good service. Perfect location for theatre-goers.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat fresh seafood, LiveGreat fresh seafood, Live music way too loud to have a converstion at table.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for pre-theater of anyGreat for pre-theater of any time. The halibut and branzino were outstanding.....all the food was really good!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMRigitoni was very good. HalibutRigitoni was very good. Halibut was very good as was steak. Fries were awful5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMBest brunch in the theater districtLove the food, ambience and staff. One criticism. THE DECAF IS AWFUL!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSomething in Theatre District!Dinner at Blue Fin was great, especially for the location. In midtown you have two choices: chain restaurant or crazy expensive. If you are going the crazy expensive route, that will be your night out. If you are going to a show, be it play, musical or concert, Blue Fin is your best bet. The food is a bit pricey but not expensive, and is very good. I have tried LOTS of restaurants in the area. This is far and away my favorite and I will definitely go again!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistent!Great find in the theatre district. Love the food! Nice variety and the sushi is great!!! Very attentive service. Highly recommend.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMNo DisappointmentsI have eaten at Blue Fin several times and each time it has proven to be an enjoyable time.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently ExcellentOur second time to have dinner before theatre. This restaurant serves a very wide range of excellent, well prepared and served nicely food. The entire staff is very friendly and obviously has been trained to address every detail to make the experience enjoyable.
Location is fabulous for those wanting to experience the activity at the hub of the theatre district, yet once inside, it is quiet and a well decorated ambience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Oasis in Time SquareThe food here is a taste delight no matter what you order. The momment you walk in you feel like a person who is going to be taken care of -- and you are! The people who work there genuinely act as though they love making YOU have a great experience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMserviceOur server, Grace, was exceptionally professional, warm and extremely likeable and an absolute asset to BF!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for lunchOur waiter (from Texas) was great helpful and insightful about the menu5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat food!Always great food, and Jason is a great and helpful young man. Will get you to theater on time or just let you relax and enjoy meal.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGood foodWent for a bday dinner for two. Food is delicious and the service was great we had appetizers, entrees one side, shared dessert , and a half bottle of wine for $2005/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ExpeeienceFood and service were top notch. Would have been nice if the restaurant asked if we were celebrating a special occasion.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch GemHave been many times for Brunch - great choices, reasonably priced, staff always congenial.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMPre theater brunch hard to beatWe've been to Blue Fin many times for sunday brunch. The food is always good quality and it is very good value considering the location on Times Square. One thing we we have found on several occassions is that the food is not always hot. This time we discovered why. Food seemed to come out of the kitchen on trays, was then uncovered and waited for staff to deliver to the tables. In our case my wife's entree sat for 5mins. We pointed this out to a manager who was very apologetic and immediately went into the kitchen and shortly afterwards, food stopped sitting out before service to the table. We were rewarded with a free desert. Now that is what I call service!!! Hopefully this is manintained in future. We will see next time!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMI went with my partner andI went with my partner and loved every minute of my stay..5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant!I only visit NYC 1x/year, my boyfriend & I loved your restaurant. We really wanted to eat at your restaurant and ran into a scheduling conflict.... we had tickets to an 8pm show but did not arrive at Blue Fin until 6:50pm. The server did an excellent job - he said we had plenty of time! We ordered and enjoyed appetizers and an entree and cocktails and made it to our show on time. Everything about Blue Fin is A+ , we will definitely be back again next year and will recommend to friends!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLocated in the heart of TimesLocated in the heart of Times Square and in the fabulous W Hotel, I brought my teen daughter here for a birthday dinner - the food was wonderful. I had the sushi and she had the filet mignon which they cooked exactly as she requested. Staff was courteous and very friendly, made us feel very comfortable. Beautiful restaurant with very cool decor. Large enough for groups and parties without feeling crowded. We loved it so much we returned the next night for dinner again. Equally delicious and the managers remembered it was her birthday! Highly recommend.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
