    Gather & celebrate this Easter Sunday with family and friends over Blue Duck Tavern's holiday brunch. On April 20, from 10:30 am - 3:30 pm, join us for a 3-course meal, including first course starters set throughout the open kitchen, followed by choice of a plated entree and sides. The brunch concludes with seasonal desserts on display in the pastry pantry. Brunch is priced at $95 per person & $45 for children between six and 12 years of age.

Blue Duck Tavern, a contemporary neighborhood restaurant, invites its guests to gather and celebrate in good taste with a menu focusing on the freshest ingredients available from local purveyors and artisans. The menu notes every farm where the main ingredient for the dish was raised before its journey to the table. Dishes are genuine, time-honored and traditional -- slow roasting in wood embers, braising, preserving and smoking techniques bring the true flavors of America's great, simple and wholesome foods to the Blue Duck Tavern.

The restaurant has an elegant residential feel through the open staff pantry and kitchen, wood-burning oven and the showpiece Molteni range.

*Please note that for diners bringing in wine, a $35 corkage fee (per 750 ml bottle of wine), with a limit of two bottles, will be charged.

  • "Blue Duck Tavern was a wonderful surprise. We were in town to see the Cherry Blossoms and I had read about this place and decided to give it a try. The entrance is from the outside - if you go inside the Park Hyatt Hotel as we did you will be directed to enter right through the middle of the kitchen! This must happen a lot as the staff was totally non-plussed. We sat outside as it was such a pleasant evening. The food was delicious. Highlights were the bone marrow appetizer - totally melted in your mouth. Entrees: beef short ribs and the crab cakes. Save room for the fabulous apple pie for dessert. There were four of us and no one was disappointed. Cannot recommend it enough. We will definitely be back the next time we visit."

  • "We had a great dinner at Blue Duck. Our table ordered the sea bass, pig and short ribs which were all fantastic. However, the waiter pushed us to share the apple pie which looks incredible when you walk in the restaurant but for $12 it was not very tasty. And he served it ala mode with out asking us if we wanted it that way which was another $4--for a $16 dessert it better be fantastic. Still, we love this restaurant and will be back!"

  • "At a Sat night dinner for two, the best dishes for us were the mushroom flatbread and the crabcake -- both items that my husband ordinarily doesn't like, but really enjoyed (and I mean, he really dislikes mushrooms but *really* liked the flatbread). The suckling pig and roasted cauliflower were good but not impressive in the same way as the other two dishes. All in all, a very good meal. Minor complaints about the ambiance: the room was a bit too cold for comfort, and while it was pretty easy to hear each other, it was sometimes hard to hear our server (not sure whether b/c he was talking low, or because he was too far above the table)."

  • "The bread was good, but not warm. The special fish of the night was swordfish, my favorite. Can you mess up swordfish? Yes, especially if it is not fresh. My fish was bland, despite being covered in a mysterious yellow sauce and garnished by mushy over-cooked spinach. Oy. I ate about a quarter of it. The side dish of wild mushrooms was delicious. Order that. I ordered the kale salad, which was a few pieces of kale covered in dressing and cheese and nuts. If I wanted cheese and nuts, I would have ordered that, not the kale salad. I sent the salad back, asking for less dressing and toppings. The waitress was very nice about it, and quickly brought out another salad. Still a lot of toppings, still no kale, but edible."

  • "Breakfast--not so very different from brunch--was possibly the best I've ever had in my adult life. That's right--the best ever. Hash is my go-to yardstick for breakfast joints. The prime rib hash here is on a different plane--a celestial plane. Combined with smoked Gouda grits and a biscuit with gravy, it makes up the most ambrosial breakfast dish ever created. Service was equally superb, and the room is gorgeous. I was thrilled by the experience, and judging from the sounds and faces around me at other tables, everyone else breakfasting there felt the same. Don't miss Blue Duck--really, don't miss it!"

  • "I went on a spring rainy Saturday for brunch and loved the place! I had the short rib hash and my friend had the flat bred with mushrooms. We finished with the apple pie for two and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The hash was out of this world and my friend loved the flat bread, on this alone I will be back and would recommend this restaurant to anyone!!! The apple pie for two weasel an amazing presentation but I thought the dough was slightly overworked and a little tough and the filling could have used a lit tile plazass. However I am very critical of desserts! I am definitely returning, because I loved this restaurant."

  • "It's not often I see everyone who greeted us from the valet, to the front desk, to the wait staff, extend courtesy, professionalism, and enthusiasm about their work. The front desk went the extra mile to help retrieve the cell phone I left in the valet parked car. They offered birthday greetings on several occasions, as did the wait staff. The food was artistically presented and amenable to sharing. The food was very good, with shades of excellence at true French bistro proportions."

  • "My friends and I were going to the Kennedy Center for a concert so we wanted to make a night of it and find a place close by. We had all heard great things about Blue Duck and they were all true. Service was exceptional, it's the little things like a stool for a purse so it doesn't sit on the ground. The food was delicious, I had the suckling pig which I could have kissed on the mouth. Everyone should go at least twice."

  • "We did the Valentine's day pre-fixe menu. I'm writing this a month later and I still remember the details of every course. It started with fois gras, which was simply the best thing I've eaten in a very long time. The flavor of meat, the consistency and texture of butter. Incredible. It ended with a chocolate ganache cake, with ice cream and a pair of sauces on the side. The best dessert I've had since I don't remember how long. In between, we had lobster ravioli and wagyu ribeye, also fantastic and would've earned 5 stars on their own right, but not quite as good as the fois gras or the cake. Wine list was very good, I also had a very good Manhattan. Server and sommolier were both extremely pleasant and endlessly knowledgeable. Cheers."

  • "We were celebrating our friends' 40th anniversary with our friends from Cape Cod. The staff made a special effort to set up one of the glass dining areas for us so that our 95 year old guest could hear the conversation. The entire staff was exceptionally attentive and added a couple of complementary food items in honor of the occasion. The only reason I didn't give a top rating to the food, which is usually perfect, is that we had a slight problem with the duck confit. However, they corrected the problem as soon as it was brought to their attention. I hesitate to even mention this, but wanted to tip my hat to the attention we received on all fronts."

  • "Had a business lunch and was happy that my guest had been looking forward to eating here...The best part of the meal turned out to be the filtered water that is served— bread was okay and the trout was over salted and served in an unappetizing way. Moreover, although I had trout as a lunch entree and my guest had trout as an addition to his salad, they were both served the same way and the presentation was mediocre. There were three fingerling potatoes with my entree so I asked for a side of mashed potatoes, The potatoes were like soup and had to be eaten with a spoon."

The demand for this place is high but I can see why. The bone marrow appetizer was amazing and so was my pork chop. The service was very good. The place is beautiful but a bit loud. The dessert was my favorite part of the meal. I will definitely be going back for that."

  • "I took a friend from out of town for a birthday brunch. It was exquisite. I had a new menu item - prawn egg bake - which was filled with huge, succulent bites of prawn throughout, while the egg bake was layered with veggies and a beautiful, tiny-bit-spicy red sauce. She had the veggie fritata and pronounced it excellent. Since it was her bday, the Tavern sent out a complimentary dessert and wrote "Happy Birthday" on the plate. SO nice. Service SO attentive."

  • "We made a last minute reservation Saturday night for 1015pm after a show and were seated in an area so loud we couldn't hear each other and asked to be moved which they did thankfully. Initial service was very slow and I had to ask for a wine list and ordered a $130 bottle of Chardonnay....when it finally arrived it was freezing cold and it took the entire dinner for it to actually get to the proper temperature. Our server was a little arrogant with his responses to our questions which was a big surprise. We have dined many times at this restaurant and clearly there has been a change in philosophy from the incredible service mind of the former hotel general manager. I only hope this was an off night as this restaurant."
