  • "Our table was ready very quickly even though we switched from outdoor to indoor preference (hot day and the guys wanted to see the BB game). The food was plentiful, hot and very tasty. Our waiter was a kick and the cost was reasonable enough for us to treat our family of 7! "

  • "If I make a reservation, I expect a table in a location that's better than what the walk-in patrons receive. What I received was a table right under a mist-making unit that was literally blowing water in my face. And, while I like the mist, I don't like being drowned. Also, the table was tucked away in a corner, where we couldn't see anything happening on the street. So, it was a poor location. Fortunately, the food and drinks were good, so that made up for the table -- somewhat. As I've mentioned before, I used to rate pretty easily, but since everyone on Opentable seems to think that there are nothing but 4-5 star restaurants, I've decided to rate a lot tougher. If you want a high rating from me, the experience must be great."

  • "Excellent food and drinks. The service was very good and loved eating outside. The furniture was a little weathered. All in all, it was a lot of fun."

  • "Had a great dinner for 6. They were busy but excellent service from our server Jose. The drinks were fantastic, we had wild margaritas, mango margaritas, mojitos. Everyone was happy with their choices. We had a range of dinners shrimp fajitas, chicken enchilada, ceviche, chile rellanos, posole, taquitos. Overall a fun and great experience."

  • "We had the Enchilada Trio and the seafood enchilada. Both were outstanding with generous portions. The enchiladas were made so that some took on a lovely pink color which was a delight to the eye, and the rice was enhanced by the inclusion of corn and Limas. The Margaritas were made fresh and tasted like it. We were on the patio and enjoyed the street view, the umbrellas, and the cooling mist."

  • "Good chips and salsa, good margaritas but the food was very institutional. There are much better options in Palm Speings."

  • "Although the service was excellent the food was disappointing. We were a party of 9 and only 3 had the exact order done correctly. There are so many great restaurants I would not return here."

  • "Read some great reviews and some poor ones. Guess I was there on a night for mediocre reviews. The food was just ok. The server was nice but it took forever to get our food. Honestly, it's possible that I might give it another try when I'm in Palm Springs again but I think I'll probably pass."

  • "The dining space at blue coyote is gorgeous. The margaritas and the chips and salsa are delicious. Our meals were tasty, but not remarkable. Our service was a bit lacking. We would try another spot before we go back again."

  • "Ate out on the patio and had a great lunch with a wonderful Mexican vibe for decor. Have eaten there a few times and have never been disappointed."

  • "had lunch w/friends on a very rainy day but even sitting inside, Blue Coyote is a fun place to visit and dine. we all (4 of us) ordered something different and we were each very happy with our selections. Our waiter was friendly and accommodating. Don't get downtown PS that often but when I do, this happy little S/W-Mex spot will always be on my list, for drinks, snacks and/or lunch & dinner."

  • "Prior to going to the Palm Springs VillageFest, we had Tostadas and Margarita and enjoyed the comfortable outdoor dinning setting. I recommend making a reservation in advance, if you want to nice table on the patio."

  • "My wife and I consider the Blue Coyote to be our favorite restaurant in PS and possibly anywhere. The food is unique and delicious. The margaritas are dangerously great (be warned)."

  • "My wife and I have been dining at the Blue Coyote for a long time. It is our favorite restaurant in PS. The margaritas are smooth and POWERFUL (be careful). The food is prepared in a very unique manner - it's wonderful! Don't leave PS without trying this restaurant."

  • "Call for reservations for 7 people and was greeted with a friendly smile even though it was a busy night. The service was excellent (Don is very attentive and has a friendly attitude making suggestions as necessary). The margaritas are exceptional but watch out for the Wild Margarita. They are powerful. The stroll musician added to the charm and made a great meal even better. I had the seafood burrito which was over stuffed with shrimp, fish and scallops. Others had the enchiladas, the carna asada, the red snapper and various other types if burritos. All were excellent and perfectly made. Will definitely return many times."

  • "Got here on a busy night, street fair night. However does not excuse worst wait ever. We were seated right away. Order taken within 10 min, but after 50 min, no acknowledgement until we asked where our food was. Only brought one refill of beverage and NO chip refill. When we asked for a discount or comped meal, waitress said she spoke to manager and would "do something" then our order was placed. 10 min. later no food. Said they had a couple of 20+ parties, but still no excuse. Finally when no food arrived, we simply left and went to Dennys. Got dinner 10 min. after order was placed. Don't bother coming here. Las Casuelas would have been a MUCH better choice wit teh 45 min. wait, would have had food sooner."

  • "We made reservation or 8 and requested a table out front on patio. I mde a follow up phone call to confirm table request and hostess said she had a nice table for us I again requested the patio table and she said she would check with manager. I asked if I was reserved already and she said no. We arrived and all the tables on patio were taken mostly with 2 people we then had to wait 20 mins for a table. Very poor customer treatment. And to top it off they added 18% gratuity"

  • "Great margaritas, average food, slow service. Don't go here for the food or service, but for the location and margaritas!"

  • "We love the ambience and the outdoor dining areas at the Blue Coyote; the margaritas are especially good, and the food is always good and plentiful; we visit Palm Springs for 6 weeks every winter and, despite the wide range of good restaurants throughout the city, we'll go back to the Blue Coyote 3 or 4 times every year, and we always bring our visiting friends there."

  • "We had to find a restaurant to handle 20+ for our group and they were able to serve us. The waiter was very helpful and attentive for our large group even though we came in waves. The food delivery was the only issue as it took over 45 minutes for everyone's food to be served, even though the restaurant was not that full. My husband and I order Paella, which was supposed to take 20 minutes to cook. We got our order a good 30 minutes before everyone else. However, once the food was served everyone raved about how good their dinner was, but it could have been the margaritas talking."

  • "I was extremely disappointed in the restaurants ability to follow through on a simple request. I had called twice before our reservation to confirm they would serve a surprise dessert with a candle in it for my husbands birthday. The response was "Of course, we do that all the time". When we arrived for dinner, I once again reminded the receptionist of my special request, to which she replied that yes, they had it noted and it would be served at the end of our meal. After our meal, however, the waiter brought the bill....no mention whatsoever of the birthday dessert. In hindsight I realize that at each point, the employee I spoke with was merely brushing me off with no intention of actually following through on their promises."

  • "Loved the outdoor dining. Wonderful margaritas and nachos. A bit of a walk from the center of town, but worth it. Will definitely return."

  • "The chips were warm the salsa hot and the friends we were with excellent. The food is consistently good and well prepared. I had the enchilada de marisco which was packed with seafood, the red snapper had by my friend was excellent, and the barritos were loaded with meat with little fillers. We are the Wild Margaritas which are outstanding, but be careful, they are strong."

  • "Have been to this restaurant four times. Every time the food is fresh and delicious. Food isn't over sauced and does not come goopey and glopey like some Mexican restaurants. Plenty of outside dining available. Service staff is always friendly and attentive."

  • "Been coming to Blue Cayote for years. This was 2nd visit this trip. Even though I'd made an Open Table reservation & called to request patio.......got a lame excuse about it been the busy time of dining........ Ended up inside in bar, which was loud with blender, tv, etc. eventually we moved to open table near street and felt improved. Our waiter and staff really turned my attitude around. Can only have 1 of their margaritas, so had that and the tequilla prawns. I also asked & received a whole sliced jalepanos as I embellish my marg's with a few spicy slices. So all & all was good once I got past not sitting where I'd usually sat....our friends loved their food (chopped salad & pork loin special on Tuesday). Hubby always gets a combo"

  • "My friend and I really enjoyed dinner at Blue Coyote. At the server's recommendation, I had the baby-back ribs, which were exceptionally good, so I can't speak to the taste of the many Mexican dishes offered. Our server was a very polite and pleasant young man, and did a really good job of making sure everyone in the room was promptly taken care of on a busy night. Only one warning--the house Margarita is just a bit *too* good for one's good. Delicious, thanks to the use of fresh-squeezed lime juice instead of the usual pre-mixed base, and enough tequila to kick like a mule. My friend didn't know quite when to quit, and suffered a full-on tequila sunrise the next morning, though he was enthusiastic about going back again some day."

  • "Front desk told us they couldn't seat us because the "ktichen was backed up", whatever that means. So we sat in the bar and ate and it was wonderful. Apparently the front desk staff didn't think to suggest that even though the menu is the same."

  • "I am a local resident in Palm Springs where Mexican food is easy to find, good Mexican food! On that note I clearly recommend Blue Coyote. Right in the vibrant area of Palm Canyon Drive, the restaurant is spread out nicely so if you want to be indoors you can or maybe as my choice, dining al fresco under twinkling lights. Some nights there is entertainment as well, not overbearing but certainly adding to the dining experience here. The menu has something for everyone and if you are a Margarita fanatic you have met your match here. Most delicious food and drink and the setting great!"

  • "We dined at Blue Coyote on a busy Sunday evening. We got a quick reservation with Open Table. It took a few minutes to get menus and service was a bit slow. Yet the outdoor seating right on Palm Canyon Drive gives you a chance to people-watch. The food was nicely prepared and nicely presented. The chips and salsa weren't the best but passable."

  • "We we're sat inside because there were no available tables on the patio. I would not recommend sitting inside! Make sure to reserve your table on the patio! The inside wasn't very nice but the patio looks really nice at night."

  • "This Restsurant made me " blue " the service was dreadful and food Marginal , the staff made my husband and I feel Like we were a burden ( and it wasn't even busy ) I do not recommend this restaurant in Palm Springs Go to Las Consuelas for Mexican Food"

  • "the hostess was rude. Our waiter was slow and inattentive except for the bus boy. Another couple who was seated when we were finished their dinner before we got ours. We were seated for an hour before our food came. The plates were very hot no doubt from sitting under the best lamps. The food was good and plentiful but my carnitas dried out under the heat lamp. My wife's seafood fajitas were supposed to have lobster in them, her favorite which is why she ordered it. After picking through all the food she found one small bite sized piece of lobster. That's it. We encountered similar rude attitude from the host and hostess last year so we are done with this place. They can do better and you can too."

  • "Found Blue Coyote walking down Palm Cyn Blvd Saturday afternoon, and it was full, lively and the menu looked great. For some reason, we didn't make a reservation at that time. Just didn't think about it. By 6ish, we tried to make a reservation online thru Open Table and by phone, but were told we couldn't get in until 10 pm. We wanted to eat there, so waited til 10. When we arrived, the restaurant was totally empty! Confused, we stayed and enjoyed a lovely meal in our "private" dining room, but it was not what we intended and didn't enjoy the ambiance you expect in a resort setting restaurant. Very odd. Hard to say if we'd recommend the restaurant or not."

  • "We have guest many times here in the desert and many of them like to go to the Blue Coyote. The outdoor dining is a great place to watch people and see some of the Palm Springs scene. The food is always good and generally the servers are prompt."
