We were in Palm Springs for a few days at the end of a three week trip and we always plan dinner at the Blue Coyote. Best margaritas I know of. Great guacamole. Had a chimichanga and it was just OK. Will return whenever we go back we enjoy eating outside and being able to walk back to the hotel after two of those AWESOME margaritas.

Drinks and Food were amazing. Had a great night with 6 friends vacationing. I don't have trouble with tipping. But ran into a waiter that knew he was getting the standard 18% right away and decided to not take care of us.... We had to basically wave or bug another server to get him near us....waited 25 minutes after our dinner dishes were taken to get a dessert order...with empty glasses and napkins and other things still on table.

We were intised by the romantic setting, but our food was mediocre at best and our waiter kind of grumpy. Honestly, has he been warm and inviting, it would have been a much nicer experience. We love PS, but given there are so many other exceptional Mexican spots there, it's doubtful we'd return.

The hostess was a bit gruff about my party being late. She said "you will need to sit at the table now or you will lose it" (said without even a smile). I arrived on time but the rest of my group was going to be five minutes late. I sat down because I didn't want to lose the table. I didn't mind since I really needed a glass of wine by that time. I've just never been somewhere where they won't wait 5 minutes for your party to get there. Aside from her, the food was great, the service was great, the ambiance was great. Will I return? Yes. I just hope she isn't there. If she is I will be able to determine if she was just having a bad night or if that's a regular attitude.

The food at Blue Coyote is always well-above average, and is well worth the drive to Palm Springs. There are unique dishes of the Santa Fe variety that you would be hard-pressed to find within an hour's drive. I would come here for just the coconut shrimp, but the chicken mole, barbecued ribs, and fajitas, as well as just about every chicken dish, are exceptional.

We are here about once a week to every 10 days. The food is consistently good and the service always good. The Margaritas are the best. I always get the Cadillac Margarita and my husband gets the Wild Margarita. If you are going to have more than one, get the mug - the best value.

We have been here before. This was the best experience of all. The people were extremely friendly and the service was excellent. The food was the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. The margaritas were top notch (and strong). We had a table inside by the window and the 106 degree temperature outside didn't bother us at all. Very nice experience and great meal for the money. Prices are very reasonable. I made a reservation on line and they were ready when we arrived.

The manager had quite an attitude. We waited for over 15 minutes for him to appear at the check-in desk. Staff looked for him but had no idea what happened. We were the only ones waiting. We asked if we could sit in the front patio area and he replied that he all of the empty tables were for future reservations. He put us, and those who checked in later, in a back area. He never smiled or said thank you for coming in. He appeared to be a person with a constant bad mood. The food was good and our waiter was good.

Having relocated to Palm Springs recently and having eaten at Blue Coyote years ago, we decided to eat there on Saturday night. Arrived at 6:15pm and promptly seated on the rear patio. Staff not overly friendly ... did their jobs and thats it. When our food arrived, we had to fend off the flies ... lots of them. Food was so-so, and was happy to escape the flies when we left. Take a fly swatter if you go ....

This was my first time dining at Blue Coyote and they hit all the marks...nice outdoor casual atmosphere, simple fresh flavorful food but what impressed me most was our waiter who was beyond professional and friendly. He took exceptional pride in explaining the restaurant history and culinary concepts, he spent time asking us questions to get to know our preferences and went above and beyond to make sure that we were pleased throughout the meal and service. The waiters effort was most impactful in making a good impression and I'll definitely want to return for the ambiance and food as well.

Tried a new place to eat this Mothers Day weekend, the Blue Coyote Bar & Grill. The location is great, the food is nothing special, not one of us at our table finished our meals. Our server was outstanding and did a fine job, and they poured a decent drink. For the price, there's better places to eat close by.

I had made reservations 2 months in advance because I had a group of 9. I requested the private room and to have champage on the table ready upon arrival. I even called an hour before to confirm. This did not happen, there was just on glass on the table poured. We got past that and proceeded to order. One of our appetizer choices was not available and two of or entrees. The food ended up being pretty good and our actual server was great. Just disappointed in the hostess/manager who arranged the reservation. It is likely we will not return.

If I make a reservation, I expect a table in a location that's better than what the walk-in patrons receive. What I received was a table right under a mist-making unit that was literally blowing water in my face. And, while I like the mist, I don't like being drowned. Also, the table was tucked away in a corner, where we couldn't see anything happening on the street. So, it was a poor location. Fortunately, the food and drinks were good, so that made up for the table -- somewhat. As I've mentioned before, I used to rate pretty easily, but since everyone on Opentable seems to think that there are nothing but 4-5 star restaurants, I've decided to rate a lot tougher. If you want a high rating from me, the experience must be great.

We had the Enchilada Trio and the seafood enchilada. Both were outstanding with generous portions. The enchiladas were made so that some took on a lovely pink color which was a delight to the eye, and the rice was enhanced by the inclusion of corn and Limas. The Margaritas were made fresh and tasted like it. We were on the patio and enjoyed the street view, the umbrellas, and the cooling mist.
