  • "Went on Wed night for Lobsterfest. Last year it was excellent. This time, not so much. 7pm reservation. Got there early. Hostess asked us to wait in bar area. Waited 15 min (hostess overwhelmed/reservation system not working well). 7:10 hostess asked if we were waiting for a table. Reminded her of our conversation 25 min earlier and she said "yes, I'm losing my mind" & told us they were setting up the table. 10 min later told us would only be a few more min. 10 min later she said they were setting up the table. Finally sat down. Table had plastic water glasses, bad omen. Food was mediocre. Cost $10 extra for lobster or crab. Saw waitress 2x entire meal (for the order & the check). Audacity to add in 20% gratuity to bill. Will never go back."

  • "Upon arrival the hostess looked at us like we were crazy for asking for a table. She went to ask if we could sit in the dining room.She came back and reluctantly seated us.Ten minutes for a waitress to arrive who informed us they are really a night club and don't get going until 10:30 pm on Thursday nights.Why do you take reservations and advertise as a restaurant? They brought us a butter plate with no bread, never refilled our water, never asked if we wanted another drink.Acted like they were doing us a favor and we were a big imposition.We were the ONLY people in the dining room. The sheer draperies have gigantic yellow stains on many panels really disgusting.We should have walked out after the hostess' initial disturbed greeting."

  • "I dined with a group- 4 total on a Friday night. The restaurant was empty. Everything was fine as far a service and food but we were charged 20% gratuity which we thought was odd. We didn't question it as we would likely give that much anyway but thought it I be presumptuous. Typically gratuity is added likes that for parties of 6-8 or more."

  • "Food was excellent, I had the porterhouse and shrimp scampi, my date had the glazed salmon. Service was on point throughout the evening, must've been a slow night though because we were 1 of 4 tables in the dining (which was quite nice). This may have been because of the band setting up, which we stayed for and had a fantastic time."

  • "This restaurant/bar needs to decide if it wants to be a restaurant or bar-we ate there on a Friday night which was country/western night. We arrived 10 minutes late-I had called ahead & advised that we would be a little late & were advised no problem. When we got there we still had to wait 10 minutes for our table. We were told that we would not be seated until there was a waiter available to serve us(?!!). When we were finally seated in a room separated from the bar area by a screen, the country music started (which I do enjoy), but it was loud when we were trying to have a nice quiet dinner. The food was good, but the service was slow as there was only one waiter working that night. I would go for drinks and music, but not for dinner."

  • "We actually did not dine there. We left after we were told you can no longer take the lobster home, and the buffet no longer offers the giant crab legs and the sushi. My husband and I dine there once a year for the Lobsterfest. My husband enjoyed the vast array of seafood at the buffet. I do not eat seafood of any kind, but I did not mind paying the $40 since I was able to bring the lobster home for my husband to eat. When I learned I could no longer do that, I responded that $40 was too much to pay for just the buffet, and asked if I could order off the menu. I was told I could not. At that point we left, went to Peppercorns in Bellport. My husband got a lobster dinner for $15, I got a prime rib dinner for $22, enjoyed wonderful service."

  • "Husband & I had 7:00pm reservations Saturday night for a special b-day dinner. Sat down at our table - noticed only 2 other tables were occupied along with a party of approx. 20 people. Put an order in for drinks - waited 20 minutes for them. Ordered another round which we had to go to the bar to ask where they were. Then we ordered appetizers, which came 50 minutes after being seated; we also had to ask for a basket of bread.The table next to us got their dinners and the waiter brought out our fried onions and said the owner put in the wrong order was it ok if we kept them even though our dinner wasn't out yet. Dinner was ok - steaks were nothing spectacular. We would NEVER go back again, and would NEVER recommend to anyone."

  • "Although it was a less than busy week night, we were seated right away and had a wonderful server! The place is beautiful with a private bar area and party room. The food was amazing... fresh and quick, just the way we like it!!!! The only slight disappointment was that the shrimp and lobster bisque wasn't as creamy as I'd prefer, but it was delicious! I have told everyone about this place and will be going back soon because we booked the party room for July!"

  • "A lone bartender handled appx 75-90 people ALONE! Including a group of appx 30-40 nurses (which made things a little noisy) I didn't hear too many complaints, so I'm assuming he handled everything. Kudos for him! Food was good and well worth the cost, but I missed the crab legs they had in the passed. Was told they are doing away with them. Too bad..."

  • "I took my daughter and her family there for Mother's Day for Brunch and it was just wonderful. The food was so delicious, the atmosphere was excellent, and the service was just awesome. We all had such a great time at this restaurant and enjoyed ourselves so very much. They call the town of 'Blue Point' the 'Pearl of the South Shore'; well 'The BLUE Restaurant' is most definitely the pearl of Blue Point."

  • "After getting seated 45 minutes after our scheduled reservation, it then took one hr, yes one hour to get our appetizer between poor service and the kitchen. The meal was ok, but needed another one since portion was small. Place not that busy and took 2 1/2 hrs to have dinner. The couple next to us we're there for over three hrs to have their meal. I know I will not go back."

They said that they had a computer problem but that has nothing to do with the service.Being in the food service business myself they should rethink there program.We where asked if we like a drink when seated and after that there was no one to help you for another or even a glass of water,guess that there was a one drink limit that night.waiter took our order then was gone for the rest of the dinner till the check came.other people served the food that took some time to receive and when asked for a drink said they will send our waiter no show.The couple next to us was waiting almost 45 min for there dinner between courses. The oustside looks are nice but don't go inside you will be unhappy ."

  • "Took my wife there for a Valentine dinner. They had a limited menu which I understand expecting to be busy and making it easier for them to put food out faster. The only thing was, the food took an hour and twenty five minutes to get out to us. It wasn't just our food, we saw two other parties get up and leave after about an hour of waiting. The worst part was that the waiter kept going by and never told us what was going on. He completely ignored us and I tried multiple times to get his attention when he would walk by to take more orders but he would look the other way and it was obvious he was avoiding eye contact. So we sat there for that whole time with empty glasses waiting. The food was mediocre at best when it came."

  • "We went there on valentines day, & made a reservation in advance. We'd been there several times before, so we were expecting the usual menu. Wow were we mistaken. They had a special "Valentines day menu", and only had about four things to choose from. 98% of it was seafood. Usually they have a lot more to choose from, not just seafood. This day was not the case. That was the first issue. The second was the fact that they didn't have the drink I requested, even though it was on the menu,if it's not available, take it off the menu. The third and lastly was the seating arrangements. They squished all the people in the small dining room, even though their bigger dining room was empty! Overall, my experience was poor. Not going there ever again."

  • "We were seated in the Bar Room last minute so it was a bit noisy. I would like to try again and sit in dining area. Service was excellent and attentive, but not overbearning. Food was very good, although I thought the Skirt Steak a la Oscar should have had hot "a la Oscar" on top" versus on the side. The a la Oscar was COLD. As well, the Skirt Steak was served on a plate by itself - should make it look more appealing, however, taste was great! Everyone else totally enjoyed their meals. We will come to this restaurant again."

  • "When we walked into the place on a Saturday night there was only one table sitting to eat....it was DEAD! BUT I have no idea why (Maybe weather..)!!! We were quite nervous but the food was AMAZING!!! And the portion sizes were great! They told us it was the last day for sushi and I hope they were revising the menu as it was light on options if you weren't having sushi. I think they would be much better off if they got rid of sushi from the menu and offered more regular meal options. Their food was great and looked great! Very fancy! We went to the bar after and they had ladies night on Saturdays starting at 9PM. Can't beat that! I would totally go back to this place and recommend to others!"

  • "My girlfriend and I have eaten here before and we keep coming back for a reason. The food was fantastic and the service was spot on. From the cordial greeting upon arriving to the final goodbyes , this spot is amazing. We both enjoyed the holiday edition price fixed menu. The tomato and fresh mozzerella appetizer and it was delicious! For dinner I had the French cut chicken and she had the salmon. Both cooked perfect . Both were so moist and full of flavor. I highly recommend Joe. He's so polite knowledgable and attentive. Like I said before, we keep returning for a reason."

  • "Service was excellent but what stood out the most was the pleasant surprise of a band performing in the next room. The restaurant had a very upbeat and vibrant feel to it and the band was a lot of fun. The server allowed us to stay well past our time and encouraged us to enjoy the table while listening to the music. We will definitely be back."

  • "My friends and I went to Blue for Long Island Restaurant Week - it wasn't too far, seemed upscale, and had a tasty sounding Restaurant Week menu. The dining room is next to the bar and an area of dancing near the bar, so near the end of dinner the DJ must have been setting up and you could hear loud club-type music. The service was horrible - started out nicely until the server found out we only wanted the Restaurant Week menu. The wait staff did not divide the dining room in sections, but instead juggled it together which did not work in their favor. The other people are the restaurant were 20-30 somethings who were dressed for the club, not the dining room. The food itself was just OK, barely worth the Restaurant Week price."

  • "Great deal during restaurant week but wasn't crazy for the service. Our waiter was way too friendly. I know this sounds crazy but we would be talking and he joined in. I ordered my dinner and asked for no cheese on salad with dressing on the side and no cheese on my steak. He made it like I was high maintenance. It was also chef's choice on the vegetable and he couldn't tell us what the vegetable was. It could be this or that. Crazy! I told him if it was string beans to please keep them off me plate. My steak was served over carrots and string beans. So to be honest, although the food was fine (not excellent), we won't be going back."

  • "My Husband and I had a very nice time.The food was very good and so was the service.My only surjestion would be to have the waiters and waitresses sample all the meals on the menu so they can help the customer when asked about any perticular meal or for a surjestion.Knowledge is power.   • "Took my wife there for her Birthday and shes a very picky eater. She had the Chicken a la Blue and loved it. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and WOW. Best fish i ever had (not literally). Probably will never eat salmon again after having the Sea Bass. My sister in law had the skirt steak and WOW. Very flavorfull and great consistency. The food was just phenominal. I ate about a quarter of my wifes and sister in laws plate. The staff brought my wife a candle on dessert and she loved it. The candle looks like a 4th of July roman candle. Very sparkly. However i wasnt pleased with the dessert. I had the apple pie and vanilla ice cream. On a scale of 1 to 5 i give the apple pie a 2. Waiter was busy so we had to request service after 30min."

  • "We have dined here many times and it's always fantastic. They just started a Pre fixed Menu that changes every week and is Avaliable Mon-Thursday. We will be going even more often now. Service was fantastic as usual. If your looking for a great meal at a great cost this is the place. Pre fixed is not avaliable on the weekends but they still have good prices. We were also informed by the server that a new full menu is coming out this week...can't wait till next time!"

  • "The seafood was great. The meats were also excellent. Its a gret place if you love to eat as muh as possible. It's too easy to over due it. The deseists were very good and the canolies were crisp and home made. I chose to take home my lobster and subbed it for the sushi. They gave a lobster claw and sushi to take home."
