A word from Blue Bell Inn
The redesigned rustic-meets-modern ambiance compliments the Contemporary American menu which features premium cuts of meat, ocean-fresh seafood and signature raw bar. Seasonal outdoor dining on the flagstone patio is available upon request.
In 2013, Blue Bell Inn underwent extensive renovations for over a year. Various historical aspects were enhanced through thoughtful restoration and new materials such as solid white oak and porcelain tile floors were introduced to create a stunning architectural mélange spanning three centuries.

  • "The Blue Bell Inn was a great dining experience. It was a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary!"

  • "We had our 30th Wedding Anniversary dinner here. The food, service, and seating were excellent. The house cab was also excellent. Will definitely return again sometime soon."

  • "The outdoor seating and bar area at the newly renovated Blue Bell Inn are just great. It's a lovely place for dinner on a summer or fall night if they have some heaters. The menu needs more small plates so you could just have drinks and a bite. Main dishes are expensive. All in all, nice job on the renovation!"

  • "The Blue Bell Inn is certainly not what it was years ago!! It is a lovely do over with wonderful outdoor spaces and a hot bar scene. It was VERY popular and VERY noisy on Saturday but we thoroughly enjoyed. it. Quite expensive for the quality of the food( decent but not great although beautifully presented). All in all a fun evening and certainly worth a trip if you don't mind overpaying and you aren't a "foodie"."

  • "we ordered oysters, which were delicious...but oddly came with no cocktail sauce. the crab cocktail came mixed in a light mayo sauce..which i also wish would have been stated on the menu. my husband got the lobster bake...which was exactly what it was, but it was nothing special. nothing out of the ordinary or that you couldn't get at any crab shack. I love chilean sea bass and was so excited to see it on the menu. it was cooked well, but sadly had NO flavor, at all. it was so bland i had to ask for salt and pepper to try to doctor it up. I ordered 3 $12 cocktails..the first was wonderful, the 2nd a bit different (in a bad way) and the third tasted like a completely different drink. just an all around let down for the price of $200!"

  • "I haven't been to the the Blue Bell Inn for years. Our experience was excellent. The manager was amazing and accommodating. The food was delicious. I like that there are so many different rooms, which makes it seem like you aren't going to the same restaurant time after time. The service was amazing. I would definitely recommend the Blue Bell Inn. Also, the dress code is a plus - you can where something dressy or casual shorts and feel completely comfortable."

  • "I enjoyed the music while having dinner. The bar was great and Stephanie Mott did a wonderful job making our first visit enjoyable. I owuld recommend this restaurant to my friends and family."

  • "This was our first time at the Blue Bell Inn and we loved it. The food and service were both excellent. The Inn is beautiful, especially the outdoor patio with fire pit and waterfall. We will definitely be back!"

  • "They did a beautiful job rehabbing the old Blue Bell Inn. We sat outside in the beautiful courtyard - complete with fire and waterfall - and enjoyed our food, excellent service from Eric and others, and loved the jazz. A beautiful and romantic evening. We were very impressed. Two pretty and busy bars. We were there late (9:00 reservation) and it was still active when we left. The only slight downfall was the decaf coffee which was served lukewarm and I really like my coffee hot! But, we look forward to going back."

  • "BBI nailed it with excellent professional service, drinks, appetizers and entrees. There's not a bad table in the house so everybody's happy."
    Dined on 7/24/2014
  • "We enjoyed this get together with friends whom we haven't seen in 3 years. Three opted for the Cobb salad, with blue cheese dressing. The quantity and quality were both excellent. The 4th treated himself with the lobster roll and said it was outstanding. The service was professional; efficient, personable; but, not intrusive. We were seated in the bar area looking out on the patio with the sliding glass doors open. Since we last visited many years ago, the whole restaurant has been enlarged, substantially renovated, and the outdoor area added. We had difficulty recognizing what we once knew. A great renovation has been done."

  • "THe new Blue Bell Inn was beautifully restored. However, the menu wasn't that great and very overpriced for what you received. Every item is ala carte also. I don't know if I will go back, but glad I did go to see what it was like. We were in the large dining room on a Tuesday night and it was very noisy; hard to hear others at your table. I had the lobster roll and there were pieces of lobster shell in my sandwich. Only my opinion, but if this restaurant is to succeed, the food and menu must get better for the money they are charging. Our waiter was very good."

  • "fresh oysters and seafood well done. Interesting appts and great entrees. Service was stellar and it was a nice night and the windows opened into the courtyard. You can eat outside or in and also in the original back room for romance."

  • "My wife and I dined at this location and it is so much better than it used to be. It is more contemporary for people in their 30s, 40s, or 50s. They scared away all the blue haired people!!!. It's finally a hip place to go! It does not have a huge menu but what they do have they do well. Can't wait to go back again"

  • "My mother and I had an early dinner Saturday night in the open area next to the patio. The food was absolutely delicious, our waitress was a delight and the setting was perfect! Doesn't get much better than that!! This was the first time my mother has been there since the renovation and she was amazed at the transformation."

  • "IThe Blue Bell Inn has always been one of my favorite restaurants. When I returned I heard that it was redone. I was excited to see it. The decor is wonderful. I was disappointed that some of my favorite foods were not on the menu. The entree menu was very limited. I ordered the chicken dish is was fine. my partner ordered the seafood pasta. When it arrived I was shocked to see how small the portion was. It had 4 shrimp and some indistinguishable crab. It was a BIG disappointment. The prices are high, especially for the quantity and quality of the food. We will NOT be back."

  • "Excellent food and ambience, but very pricey for medium sized and only very good dishes."

  • "This was my first time, and not the last, to this recently renovated establishment. I would always drive by as I live nearby, but never ventured in. The food is amazing and portions are just right. The only downside is parking. I highly recommend the valet parking."

  • "While lots of attention is always welcome, a tad too much is a tad too much. No need for various & sundry staff (at all levels of management) and who knows how many other kind waitpersons to hover and question how our diners were doing. Sometimes "less is more"!"

  • "Made a reservation for 6 people on a Saturday night ~ in advance because of weekends being the busy time & requested an outdoor table on my OpenTable reservation because I'm always freezing in air conditioned restaurants. Arrived and was told that outside seating if first come first served. Instead of giving us a table near the open windows - they shoved us in the dark internal Oak Room. They couldn't have phoned to tell me their outside seating policy??? The food was inconsistent & nothing remarkable. And the service was sporadic at best. I would have thought things would be improved since my last visit. Sadly ~ this place will remain at the bottom of my list."

  • "My wife and I went for a spur of the moment date night. We arrived early to have a drink in the bar. The main bar is very large and noisy, and on Friday night was packed. Given the crowd, the service from the bartender was very good. Dinner was another matter. We were seated on time, and the waiter appeared immediately to welcome us. After that, it went downhill. The service was slow, and seemed a bit off. My wife ordered a special Beet Salad that she really enjoyed, but the rest of our meals were mediocre at best - not prepared correctly or just bland. We frequent several of the restaurants in this area, and there are definitely better options for the money."

  • "A friend and I were seated in the Founders Room with special wall coverings -- metallic , with studs. Its hard to explain. My martini was perfect and I enjoyed a large filet mignon that was tasty but, as I had requested, rare. Next time I'll make it medium rare. My friend also enjoyed her entree, the lobster bake, with a variety of shellfish and sweet corn. Instead of an appetizer, we shared a Blue Bell Inn Caesar salad that was ample in size and delicious. Our respective desserts of Kentucky cappuccino and white chocolate ice cream were perfect selections to end our meal. On a Thursday night the Inn was busy, with a happy crowd of diners."

  • "Wife and I went on a WED EVENING 6PM FOR DINNER. ASKED FOR A QUIET AREA AS WHEN YOU ENTER IT IS VERY NOISY. THE PLACE HAS HAD A MAKEOVER AND IN MY OPINION IT WAS A FAILURE. THIS PLACE NOW LOOKS ON THE INSIDE LIKE A SPORTS BAR NOT A QUAINT INN. SERVICE WAS VERY GOOD AND FOOD WAS SERVED HOT. SORT OF SMALL PORTIONS BUT THE TAB WAS LARGE. AS TO WOULD I GO THERE AGAIN MY ANSWER IS ONLY IF TAKEN THERE BY SOMEONE ELSE."

  • "My husband and I just celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Blue Bell Inn. I have dined many times in the past at the Inn but this was the first time for dinner since the renovations. The restaurant is exquisite. Loved the atmosphere downstairs and we had our dinner upstairs in a beautiful room. The service was wonderful and the food was simply delicious especially the calamari."

  • "Food is delicious, atmosphere is great, it's just a little excessively noisy. So, hard to have any kind of conversation when you are eating."

  • "First visit with the new owners. Extensive renovations are beautifully done. Food was very good and our server quite attentive. My only complaint was it is very noisy and it was not even half full at our midweek lunch. I also felt the prices were very high. Although it was too hot the day we were there, the outside terrace is gorgeous."
    Dined on 7/2/2014
  • "The noise level dominates the whole dining experience. It was our third visit to the beautifully renovated favorite spot each time seated in the bar area, all thre times with small group 4 to 6. Conversation was impossible Manager came over to see how we were doing and we told him of noise problem and he said they knew they had a problem and were working on it. I wonder why planners didn't realize noise would be a problem before they began renovation. Aren't restaurant designers aware of what seems to be a universal problem? We won't go back until we hear that something has been done to tone down the place. And they play loud music on top of the problem!!!!! Why don't they think ?"

  • "If dining during the week make a point of getting there early to enjoy a great happy hour (5-7pm)- drinks were excellent and the free appetizers were awesome. Every time we turned around there was a waiter offering another free appetizer - never experienced anything like it! Diner was fun - dining outside in the courtyard was casual yet elegant. The Seafood Bake was great and the Seared Yellowfin Tuna was superb. Our waiter was very attentive and the specialty drinks were tasty. I would recommend the Blue Bell Inn & will definitely be back for happy hour!"

  • "A more modern/hip Blue Bell Inn. Prices are up and portions are down from "old" BBI but nice for special occasion, particularly if you can get a seat in the outdoor patio."
