  • "We had been away for a bit and pleasant surprises awaited us on our return. We tried a new wine which was quote good and each of us enjoyed a fish entree prepared expertly along with a stand out dessert. It was back to our winning Friday night formula--Blue Bamboo for dinner!"

  • "We were delighted to arrive and find they had a wonderful special that night so the hubs tried it. Striped bass--prepared perfectly with equally sublime bok choy and rice and a nice bottle of wine (the selection is always great). Also tried a fabulous new cocktail with honey vodka and basil. The whole night was a total yum!"

  • "We had been out if town. followed by a week of being under the weather and returning was just the antidote after a long, tough week! Always look forward to the beginning of the month to see what the featured dish will be.We had a very nice bottle of wine and enjoyed some sushi and shared the tuna entree. A perfect close to the work week!"

  • "I always love lunch or dinner at one of Jacksonville's best independent restaurants. It is so wonderful to get away from restaurants that have 300 other locations and eat at a hometown gem!"

  • "This restaurant is a Hidden Gem! It is located off the beaten path! The food is always outstanding, the service is alway amazing! I love the Short Rib Tacos and the Ahi Tuna Ceviche appetizers. I love the Velvet Yu Kew Tilipia that melts in your mouth! I am addicted to the fresh garlic spinach! The wine list is extensive and the specialty cocktails rocks! You have to eat here!!!"

  • "We had an incredible meal at the Blue Bamboo....one of our more memorable dining experiences. We were there shortly after Valentine's Day, and they were still offering the Valentine's Day tasting menu if desired. My husband and I are not big eaters, so we shared the four courses. Three of the four courses were divided for us in the kitchen--always nice. The fish because of its presentation came on one plate which we easily divided ourselves. We opted for the wine pairing, and got an extra pairing since there were two of us. Neither of us liked the first or last wine, but perhaps that is just us. The food was outstanding, and we have been telling others about it. Hope to return the next time we're in Jacksonville."

  • "We have been to Blue Bamboo a few times before, and thought it so-so. Last week we went with friends. Three of us ordered 1/2 crispy duck. It was crispy all right, and the few bites of meat on the very small portion were dry. The 2 pieces I got were both leg and thigh, an unusual half. One of our party orered from the Southern menu a chicken pot pie. The chicken was deep fried served with rice. Not exactly a southern or even a U. S. recipe. The vegetables were fresh and good. Although the ambience and location were ok, if the food is bad the other doesn't matter. We will never return."

  • "We had been at this restaurant before and liked it, so invited some friends to join us as they'd never dined there. Not a good choice for a first timer. Fortunately, the food is very good. The service was horrible beginning with a flat bottle of tonic, no water being served to the rest of the table and then the server trying to refill a glass of tonic water with tap water - placing her hands all over the glass. Waited forever for appetizers: by the time they were served the dinner had arrived, followed immediately by my salad. There was a good sized group in the room. Perhaps that was the problem. The restaurant was clearly overwhelmed."

  • "One of the best things about Blue Bamboo is how they go all out for special occasions and holidays--and Valentine's day was no exception! They created a special ambience (including uniform modifications!) but more notably put together a special menu with wine pairings which we always look forward to. It was just fantastic!"

  • "Valentine's Day Dinner - the menu choices were very limited. Surprised that the wine list was very minimal being that it advertised as a wine bar. The food that we ordered was very professionally prepared and presented properly. Not much wow factor. My wife and I were trying to describe the atmosphere and we both came up empty. In the end this might of been better for a large group where you could kind of share bites like a Tapas place. This is a one visit restaurant for us,."

  • "I will give it to them that we went on valentines day but I feel our server should have been more on top of things. Throughout most of the meal we were thirsty, he only came to check on us when we appeared to be done at the end of our meal. I have a feeling he ignored us to pay more attention to the older customers because he figured since we were young and not drinking wine, we wouldn't tip well. This was unfortunate thinking on his part because the service he gave us reflected the tip he got. Normally I'm a wonderful tipper because I know how hard servers have to work for their money but I didn't feel he deserved it this time."

  • "A Mid-week delight! Enjoyed business conversation with delicious food in an atmosphere comparable with some of the finest restaurants. Having the chef visit tables, made it extra special. We all enjoyed our meals and look forward to our return visit soon."

  • "We had such a good time for Chinese New Year we went back the following Friday and again had a wonderful evening. It was a little more subdued than the previous Friday but lively nonetheless. We enjoyed some sake this time (the selection is best in city I've found) and sushi (only available on Friday) and just a great evening in general. By Friday we really look forward to a nice meal, nice wine and a chance to unwind from the week and we are always rewarded at Blue Bamboo."

  • "Enjoyed a wonderful evening with friends celebrating the New Year. Along with the regular menu choices there were additional choices created especially for the Chinese New Year. We ordered potstickers and spring rolls as starters. Both were delicious! Then we shared the lobster Cantonese and pan fried noodles with chicken. The lobster sauce was excellent; it was a little messy to eat but oh so good! the noodles had great flavor. As usual we had a wonderful evening at our very favorite restaurant. Check it out if you have not already done so. Chef Chan's monthly Dim Sum Sundays are awesome along with his cooking classes!"

  • "Have been there several times & always great. Our group of 6 new year's eve had a fabulous meal. We just had them do a taster's menu family style rather than order off the menu. Every single course was awesome"

  • "Blue Bamboo is consistently one one of the finest restaurants in Jacksonville. The food is always superb. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the devotion of the chef to satisfying his patrons. Always a great meal."

  • "The food was bland, dried out and had no taste. I had the Singapore Street Noodles with Chicken. The noodles were dry and lacked taste. They had a healthy amount of curry sprinkled in, but that didn’t help. My wife had the Wok Tossed Rice Noodles with Beef, it too was bland and tasteless. I'm sorry we came here. The fact that there were few cars in the parking lot was a first hint that we shouldn’t have been here. Then, seeing that an Asian restaurant had Shrimp and Grits as well as Chicken and Waffles on the menu was a second sign this place is trying to figure out something, as the Asian food just isn’t working for them. I would not recommend this place for anyone."

  • "I was celebrating my birthday and wanted to experience the Blue Bamboo. Jason, our server was marvelous and the sojutini was delicious. I hadn't had soju since I lived in Hawaii. We are looking forward to dim sum on 12/29/13."

  • "If you are looking for a restaurant that never fails to satisfy this is it. Great food, great chef, friendly atmosphere. My son demanded that his birthday dinner be here for the family, which was fine with us as we all love it. Simply wonderful food. Make sure you get the Dragon Whiskers appetizer!!"

  • "The food is great and the cocktails too. The service was not at the same level of the food. I have no idea if they have desserts. Our waitress disappeared , and after the appetizers they took away the used silverware but did not bring knives for the dinner. Eventually we had to “ steal " knives from an empty table . After dinner was over , they took the plates and for ten minutes we waited for the waitress to remember us. She never did and we had to ask for the bill from another person. I would have to say that my sweet and sour chicken was excellent ( the best I have had in Jacksonville ), but the service left a sour aftertaste to the experience"

  • "We are big foodies from New Orleans and had high expectations for this restaurant. Unfortunately, it was a total disappointment. The "sampler" had the tiniest portion we have ever seen. We understand that it's supposed to be "fine dining" for Asian food but C'MON! The complimentary edamame paste had absolutely zero flavor (which makes sense). Might help to add some chili paste or something in it. Lastly, the entrees. We loved that the size was gigantic (again - makes no sense then that the appetizers were so small but this was huge). Unfortunately, it was all totally bland. "Fusion" does not mean to completely tone down the flavor of wonderful Asian food. The red curry and Singapore Street Noodles were both especially disappointing."

  • "I love coming here! The food, service and ambience is fantastic! I can't say enough about the delicious L.A. Short Rib Tacos...mouth watering! We also had the Peppercorn Beef Filet. It was cooked to perfection with Herb Fries and Grilled Bok Choy. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. They have an assortment of specialize martinis and array of wines to choose from. This is the ideal place to have your romantic dinner, girl's night out or just group gathering. You will love it as much as my friends and I do."

  • "Another wonderful dining experience with Dennis and his staff. We had guests from out of town and knew we could depend on Blue Bamboo to deliver a great meal served by competent and friendly wait staff and that Dennis would make a point of stopping by to welcome us and ensure all were happy. Our guests were most impressed and the evening was a hit."

  • "Menu is creative with an Asian flair and the offerings are of high quality and are delicious. I particularly enjoy the Thai shrimp wrap and the peanut chicken wrap for lunch but I and those I dine with at Blue Bamboo agree that everything we have tried has been top notch."
