  • "The Enchaladas Suisas is the best I've ever had. I wish they had it on the menu at night, cause it is my favorite! I would recommend this to anyone with a big group or who loves Spanish cuisine."

  • "The ambience being outdoor was outstanding. Nice patio facing Main Street in Pleasanton. Service was kind of slow for a Sunday evening. I had their speciality streak entree and requested medium rare. The steak was served more toward well done, no pink at all."

  • "Great mexican food in a wonderful area. From the nachos and salsas to the flan, this is a great palce for your once a week "going out place""

  • "Friday --- We arrived early 5:30 pm (before they opened) so had to wait on the sidewalk a little while. Seated, order margaritas in a pitcher, tasted watered down. Food was excellent ! Salmon perfect ! Mole wonderful ! Requested water and had to ask 3 additional times to get attention. But overall we and our friends will dine again."

  • "Wanted to go for a nice, quick and tasty lunch. It was a nice sunny day and the seats out on their patio out front were very nice. Our server was nice and efficient. We ordered the chicken quesadilla and the portion size was just right for lunch. It was delicious. We will definitely be back for lunch again."

  • "Found this place, read the reviews and decided to try it for a relative's birthday dinner. This place was absolutely wonderful. Loved the outdorr seating and ambience. Would definitely return for special occasions only as it is a bit on the pricey side."

  • "Enjoyed a wonderful change of pace dining outdoors and tasting a different variety of Mexican food. We had a relaxed, unhurried dinner, and discovered some new favorites. We'll be back."

  • "Went to have a nice dinner with friends from out of the country, wishing to show them our quaint town while we ate. I had expressed this when I made my reservation. We were seated in an out of the way corner where we were forgotten about...definitely not a great location. Had to ask several times for water, had to ask for salt, had to ask for a refill on water, had to flag down a waiter and then had to ask for our check. Definitely not the experience we were looking for."

  • "Had a nice meal at Blue Agave. Open air patio seating was very pleasant on a summers evening. Food was good if unspectacular, and the selection of margarita pitchers was greatly appreciated by our group. Not cheap but decent value for the money. Would definitely go back again."

  • "Went for a first date and was pleasantly surprised on how mellow and relaxed the outdoor seating was along with great food and service."
    Dined on 7/15/2014
  • "Unique food choices one was a hit, Shrimp, with sauce choices, the other was very ordinary, chicken in a sour cream sauce. Service started out well but faded to poor quickly."

  • "It had the right ambience for my cousin and his wife, both of whom who were visiting from Japan. It had the right "Pleasanton" feel -- plus it was a very nice nice."

  • "This is a good restaurant for special occasions. Nice ambiance, good food, nice (not too loud) live music. The weather was great so loved it, would not be a great experience with very cold or hot weather. Their margaritas were good. Chocolate chicken was not so great but other dishes, especially their enchiladas and salmon were amazing."

  • "Dry, overcooked chicken slathered in bland sauce. Blech!"

  • "Blue Agave Club promotes itself as having classic Mexican dishes as well as new twists on old favorites. Not a taco, true enchilada or quesadilla to be found. Chips were stale-tasting. Otherwise food was very good. Outside seating very noisy with lots of kids running around, inside was nice."

  • "We have eaten at this place many times in the past, it's our favorite Pleasanton restaurant. A diet kept us away for the past several months, as a treat we went back. The service has noticeably changed but not for the better. Our server stood five feet away our whole meal but ignored us the entire time. He spent most of our meal small talking with all the other staff while standing next to us. We sure hope the manager makes this issue go away soon."

  • "We had a very nice waiter and enjoyed the outdoor seating. Overall the service was good but very sad about the food. Our food was very luke warm. There was a large party served before us and maybe that was the problem but no excuse for sending three of our four meals out lukewarm. The cheese enchiladas were the worst because the cheese which I assume was melted at one time was cold and solid-ugh. Also you would think a place with this rating could make a decent flan-----back to the drawing board on that one! The chocolate mouse dishes had smeared berry sauce on the side so thought that was a little sloppy. Very nice waiter, he saved the day for us."

  • "There is something so relaxing about dining outdoors and Blue Agave Club has a great patio that we thoroughly enjoyed during lunch. There are plenty of trees and umbrellas providing a nice shady spot for most tables. The food is good. We had enchiladas that I would describe as very good traditional Mexican fare -- exactly what we wanted for lunch. There are some interesting (elaborate, complex) entrees on the menu that we will try on a return visit for dinner."

  • "Always a treat. My favorite way to spend those two occasions."

  • "I'm a foodie so I'm pretty picky. The food was artfully presented on the plates and was lovely to look at. We were served within a reasonable time on a busy Friday night and were not rushed to turn our table. I would rate the food 4 out of 5 which is great for Pleasanton and I would definitely recommend to friends and will return myself. I frequently dine in SF or Berkeley so my reference point is pretty high. "

  • "Ate here on an evening when the temperature was perfect for outdoor dining. 3 of us each ordered a different entree: seafood, pork chop, and chicken mole. All were good. Albeit, the seafood dish was the least favorite. Service was so-so, considering it was a Wednesday and the restaurant wasn't too busy. Also a bit pricey. $50 for a pitcher of margaritas w/ Don Julio tequila. Ouch! "

  • "This is not your average Mexican place. Not only have they taken fine dining to a new level, but they did it by focusing heavily on one region of Mexico, showing us that just like most countries, the cuisine varies from area to area. The tequila list is extensive and interesting - let your waiter help you here. They are also good at explaining all the options, some of which may be new to you. Any time the weather is at all decent, opt to sit outside. It's so great there. They have heat lamps which help on a cooler night. This is a special place but don't save it just for special occasions. You'll want to work your way thru the menu."

  • "Pleasanton's Blue Agave Club is the perfect place to bring a date, meet a friend or just gather with your family. The front garden has lots of shade during the daytime, and at night it is lit up with fairy lights creating a charming vista. The Mexican food is upscale, very fresh and served promptly. Their seafood enchilada's are consistently wonderful, and of course, they are known for their great variety of Tequilia."

  • "This was our first visit to blue agave. We took a friend from out of town and wanted to impress him. What we got was a rude waiter. We ordered some drinks (twice) and both times the server would not bring my wife her drink. I had to ask more than once to "please bring my wife her cocktail". He was rude and never asked us if we wanted anything else after our meal. Then when the check came, the server actually rolled his eyes deliberately in front of us to let us know a $20 tip was unacceptable. We were appauled. We won't be going back. "

  • "Kind of a go to place when I'm in the area. Have never had a bad experiance here or a meal that was less then excellent. Our server was top notch and very helpful. I'd recommend the place to anyone...and have on many occasions."

  • "The food and atmosphere was great, as always. The service is always good at Blue Agave, even when very busy. I did say it was a birthday celebration for my husband when making the reservation, but there was no mention of that from the server during or after dinner. It would've been nice had that been recognized."

  • "We dined out with another couple on what was the first truly warm evening of the season. The waiter was attentive, quick to up sell the cocktail selection and offer appetizer choices. We were out for an evening not rushing to another activity. We were enjoying our guacamole and margaritas, ordered our entres and first courses. The first course selections arrived promptly but our entrres arrived just 5 minutes later. They were taken back to the kitchen but I definitely felt rushed."

  • "We have been here several times for Mothers Day brunch. We enjoy the patio seating, the omelette bar, the mimosas and many of their brunch dishes. It is festive, reasonably priced, good for the kids, and the staff seems to do a good job of keeping glasses filled, and food stocked on a very busy afternoon. Tip: request a side of tortillas and the kids can made breakfast burritos with their eggs, potatoes, and sausage."

  • "The Blue Agave Restaurant has a great ambiance for hanging out on their outdoor patio on an afternoon or to enjoy a meal at dinner time. The service was excellent at our brunch for Mothers day and the food was good. This was surprising considering the large crowd they had to serve. I would definitely go back."

  • "Nice place to eat outside, noisy but fun food was good but they don't like you to make changes to your meal and aren't very nice about it, lunch menu is better and the price's are high for what you get $11 margeritas ???? wow"

  • "We've been to Blue Agave Club several times in the past, but this past visit was a disappointment. There were eight people in our party and we had one cheese enchilada that was actually hard - no melting cheese and a tough tortilla - one drink that had to go back, and the bill had two errors. teh musician was quite good, though, and we really enjoy sitting outside and enjoying the street vibe. We'll definitely go back, but I don't think we'll take folks who haven't been and call it a 'great' place."

  • "The outdoor seating was great. The weather was nice and the service was great. One sauce that I didn't care for but that was just me. The rest of the food was great. I really loved the patio seating it was great to be outside with fresh air. The décor also was perfect to fit the rest of the ambiance. Overall I would highly recommend going here."
