Blue Agave Club is a Mexican Restaurant serving "alta cocina mexicana" or "high-end" Mexican cuisine. Don't let the "high-end" deter you. We do offer an array of menu choices... from the expected enchiladas & burritos to the unexpected Filet Mignon with Pomegranate-Chipotle Sauce, for example. Our menu is adjusted seasonally to include the freshest ingredients. Chef & Owner, Alexandro Garcia has created exquisite sauces by updating authentic family recipes and adding his own creative flare.

I made a note on the reservation when i originally made it that it was her birthday dinner. She didn't even receive a Happy Birthday or "Feliz Cumpleaños".   • "I have been to this restaurant before and have enjoyed it in the past. However, I feel that a change of ownership has occurred as the menu was extremely limited. There were no ala carte selections, no variations or substitutions and the noise level was extremely uncomfortable. This was a party of ten and no one was happy with the menu selection. For a party of ten, this was no small dinner bill. Needless to say a lot spent and very little satisfaction. I am sorry to say, I will not return."

  • "We were a party of five celebrating a birthday. The service was excellent, and friendly. We were there long after everyone else left and we did not feel at all rushed to leave by the staff. My enchiladas from a family recipe were unusual and delicious. My husband's camarones al diablo were marked on the menu as spicy hot, and the waiter made sure he liked things that were hot and knew what he was getting into. My husband felt that the spiciness was way below hot and that the food not worth the price. There is often this kind of disjoint in our opinions on restaurant food. The food ordered by the other three in our group was nicely presented and looked delicious."

It had been a few years since I had been here and ordered a similar dish to what I had before - always looking for good Mole. The Mole Poblano was fantastic, my husband and the enchilada del mar and was equally as good. We were not rushed and there was live music playing softly. Great date night!"

  • "We went on a warm evening and the weather was just perfect for outdoor dining. We made reservation at 6:30 pm but most tables were empty, so the hostess seated us right away without checking her list of reservation. The food is quite good but pricey for Mexican style, but I guess you are also paying for the ambiance with live outdoor music, although they stopped at around 7ish (not sure if they stopped early because it was Sunday night). The service was just fair, no small talk or recommendations. Overall, it is a good dining experience and the nice weather certainly help."

  • "When we arrived we were told that they weren't seating guests inside, only outside. As it was a Fall night, I wasn't dressed to sit outside. They did seat us close to a heater. Both the Hanger Steak and Filet were tough and overpriced. Sangria was mediocre and brought to us in a cheap plastic beer pitcher. Not what you would expect for a restaurant with these prices."

Went Thursday night, the services was terribly slow, the guacamole was unsalted and plain, and the food was less than mediocre. We were extremely disappointed as we had family in town from NY and we picked this place based on its prior history. It was a bad choice. Time to find a new Mexican food place. :-/"

  • "I was warned that this place was nice, but, way too expensive for what you get. We had margaritas that were served in small glasses resembling small stemmed water goblets & they were $12 each!? What? For 1/2 the size of your typical Margarita? Really? At the last minute, my date ordered a carnitas served w/ 4 small flour tortillas, a scoop of refried beans, and scoop of corn meal. The bill came & that little "app" was $24!? Sooo, 4 small margaritas, one App came to $89. Really? I don't complain if the price justifies the product, but, I managed a Mexican Restaurant that was more "high end" and the $$ are ridiculous & don't justify the outdoor seating. Couple next to us asked if they could eat inside- were told "there's no tables inside"."

Salsa dips were quite good as was fried rice. Hostess and rest of staff were not friendly at all. Service was very rushed. This place has been here for many years, it is time to rethink and update the entire experience. Need to start in the kitchen and menu."

  • "We like to eat at Blue Agave Club each year when we come to Pleasanton for the Highland Games (Labor Day weekend). It's lovely to sit outside and the food is very high-quality and fresh, with many excellent specialty and fish dishes - not your basic Mexican restaurant. The servers are knowledgeable about the long list of tequilas offered; there are heat lamps on chillier nights. We highly recommend it - make reservations!"

We were seated in an out of the way corner where we were forgotten about...definitely not a great location. Had to ask several times for water, had to ask for salt, had to ask for a refill on water, had to flag down a waiter and then had to ask for our check. Definitely not the experience we were looking for."
