  • "Met friends for drinks to celebrate my birthday; great time, great atmosphere, great food & EXCELLENT service!"

  • "I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Blue Agave. It was not my first time there, and was very pleased with my dinner choice. When I booked our reservation, I mentioned that it was my daughter's 27th birthday, hoping it might be acknowledged, but it was not. Otherwise, my party and I were quite happy with everything"

  • "Great food, exciting atmosphere...I'd come back any day of the week. Blue Agave is aces."

  • "A group of 10 of us (from Hawaii & Guam) in Baltimore for a meeting went to dinner at Blue Agave. Since we were looking for a type of food that we couldn't get at home on the islands, the venue appealed to us. Food was very good as was the service. Would recommend to others."

  • "Great tequila....average mexican food cooked by Americans"

  • "Overall, I was very pleased with the experience at Blue Agave. The service was quick, the food was great, and the margaritas were delicious. The only downside was that our group had to wait about 20 minutes past our reservation time for the table before us to leave. Other than that, I was very happy."

  • "Been a few times. Food was good and the service was better. Upscale Mexican. Worth a try."

  • "What used to be a strictly Mexican restaurant has over the past few years reinvented itself as a Tex-Mex restaurant, and in the process won me over. The menu has something for almost everyone, including vegetarians. And everything is great! It was quite crowded. So, if you go, be prepared to wait, and they won't seat your party till everyone is there."

  • "This evening for four started with circling the block several times for parking. Once seated we had the luck of getting a male server who had a bad day, hated life, hated his job, or some other reason for being angry and miserable. He took our order, managing service during the meal...but he conveyed nothing but "here's your food and here's the bill." We were celebrating my birthday and it was noted on the comment section of the open table reservation. Our server never mentioned it. The food was average Mexican. The place was supposed to be 'famous' for its margaritas and authentic meals. The house margaritas tasted salty (from a straw) and of store-bought margarita mix. The price point far exceeded the service, food, and ambiance."

  • "I'd only been to Blue Agave once and found the food great. I reserved my table for a bday dinner for eight people a month in advance. But when we arrived, the table wasn't ready for another 20 minutes. And then, the server seemed annoyed we were even there. When I asked if I could order avocado fries (since I had them last time while dining IN the restaurant), he said no - they're only at the bar. So my friend actually went to the bar, ordered them to go, and brought them back to our table. The service did not improve from there, and even though the food was decent, because of the service, I will never return. The server almost ruined the birthday dinner for everyone there, which is a shame since this place seems to be a neighborhood gem."

  • "Incredibly noisy late on a Saturday night, though to be expected. Enjoyed my fish tacos, although the tamales were quite poor. Great margaritas and sangria!"

  • "I have dined at Blue Agave several times over the past six years on visits to Baltimore. It has always been consistently delicious! Great margs, chips and guac, and entrees. I have had burritos, enchiladas, crab cakes, scallops, you name it, I've had it and loved it. My only complaint is that they took the jalepeno corn cakes off the menu. They were amazing and hot!! Blue Agave is a great place to go with a small group but may be hard to hear a large group when it gets crowded."

  • "We went there for our Sons' birthdays! My wife was not happy with the vegetarian dish of Tamales. However the three of us like the dishes we had. The mango margarita was hardly mangoish! But it was good and the salt on the rim was generous, to my liking. Nice dining experience with a very pretty and pleasant waitress."

  • "I went out on a Friday night with a girlfriend. We had a 7:30 reservation. We were both starving upon arrival, and this did not disappoint. Highlight: The food... the food. This place does it right. Immediately brought us 3 types of salsa and a big basket of chips. We ordered queso to start - it was different than expected- more of a smooth cheese sauce than the bright yellow queso you might expect. It was delicious. I got a chicken burrito- it was so good! For being such a simple mexican food meal, I've been thinking about it since Friday. Definitely a solid go-to go-to for a fun dinner out!"

  • "Overall the food was good. It was a cute restaurant and the ambience was good. The service was not great. Our server had an attitude and every time we requested something he acted like we were bothering him. We mentioned that it was margarita day and he said Really??? We thought since there was signage posted indicating it was margarita day he would be aware of it. I don't believe I would return due to the poor service!"

  • "I've been hearing about this restaurant for years now, and finally decided to check it out for Restaurant Week. I chose to go on a Monday night, which meant they weren't very busy at all. As a result, the server was a little on the over-attentive side. It's not something one ever wants to complain about, but when he asked how the food was literally 30 seconds after it had been served, I was mildly irritated. As for the food, the chips we were served when we sat were a little on the stale side. I didn't say anything because sometimes tex/mex restaurants just have bad chips, but when we got a second serving they were much better. The chorizo empenadas and desserts were fantastic, but both our main courses were a little disappointing."

  • "The food was okay. I asked for over hard eggs and they were still over easy. The brunch website through open table says endless bloody Mary's, sangria, and margaritas $10.it's only mimosas and sangria. So 8 margaritas later was $59 alone. Just all together unhappy with the experience!!"

  • "We went on a Saturday night and had 12 people in our group! There were able to accommodate us with a nice table. Sometimes with a large group the service tends to decrease b/c it is tough to serve a large group! Our waitress was AWESOME! Everyone's food arrived in a good amount of time, was correct and SO GOOD! She even gave us all separate bills which made things so much easier! Sometimes places won't do that b/c it's a pain for them, but she didn't act like it was a problem at all, which was nice! The food was so good and they had a number of specials that evening that were awesome too! Will definitely be going back soon and if I have a large group of people I will def consider going there again."

  • "Had the chicken burrito and it was great. The chicken was so tender it pretty much melted in your mouth. Also a big fan of the sangria pitchers!"

  • "My friends and I (10 people in total) went here for my birthday. The food was absolutely wonderful, but the waiter we had was terrible. He was rude and condescending. There was a strong draft coming through the restaurant that felt like the AC was on, but when I asked him to turn it off, he rolled his eyes and said it wasn't on and walked away. My friends also asked him to bring me out some type of desert with a candle on it, and well that just never happened. The food was really wonderful, but our waiter ruined the experience a little. After the meal as done, we asked another waiter walking by to take our picture, and he was absolutely delightful! So I believe this was an isolated incident. Beware of a grumpy guy with a blonde pony tail."

  • "This was my 3rd time going to this restaurant in 4 years, and it still has great tasting foods (different from your regular Mexican restaurants) but what is really outstanding is their bar options. Being a tequilaria, it has great options of tequila flights, as well as cocktails and margaritas. The food portions are kinda huge, so order accordingly, or not, because they make for great leftovers. The desserts are also different, and not your standard flan and churro assortment. I love this place and would always keep coming back if parking was easier."

  • "I moved to Baltimore from Texas and miss my authentic Mexican foods, my husband also enjoys Mexican food so I was looking for a nice place to take him and came upon Blue Agave! Once I booked our reservation I had a request because it was his birthday and I know he'd enjoy some dessert afterwards, sure enough the waitress comes out with some cookies and a candle. It wasn't much but it was special because I felt like I was back home! The food was beyond exceptional and this will be our New Spot!!! service was great but the food and atmosphere make it a place you'd visit frequently"

  • "Great food and killer cocktails (try their Spicy Margerita). Came here with a group of six to celebrate an engagement while on a visit to Baltimore. Great service & convivial atmosphere (w/o being excessively loud). Recommended; would go again."

  • "I went to Blue Agave to celebrate a birthday on a cold rainy day. the room was warm, if a bit loud, and the server appeared with fresh-made tortilla chips and salsas right away. The menu is more limited than I remembered, it now features fajitas, burritos, tacos, and enchiladas with your choice of meats and sauces. that said, They served the best darn shrimp fajitas I have had in a long time. The black beans are good, the pesto rice is excellent, and the seasonal cranberry margarita was outstanding. For good, straightforward Mexican food, it can't be beat."

  • "This was our first time here. We heard so many good things about Blue Agave felt it was worth a try. Food was incredibly spicy, and was oversold as not too spicy. However, my biggest pet peeve (of all time) is to have a course served before the previous course's plate is removed, let alone not finished. We still had forks & spoons in hand when our main meal was brought out. Food was brought out by a runner & really couldn't understand why we had issue with it."

  • "Really enjoyed our meal and experience at the Blue Agave. My husband ordered the double burrito and I had the vegetable stuffed portabella. Both were delicious! Really enjoyed their signature Silver Coin margaritas! Fun, festive environment with great attentive wait staff."

  • "Waiter was polite and attentive. Bottomless chips and salsa. A little pricey for burritos and tacos, but they have good specials during the week that off-set the price. Great HH specials too (that are not available in the dining room, unfortunately). Bar area is a little small, but not unbearable. Interior decor is welcoming and authentic. Great find in Federal Hill. I had the blackened fish tacos and they were tasty. Would recommend for a date, small HH gathering with friends. They do have space for a large party or two in the dining room also."

  • "I ordered the tacos--which were tasty, including the rice and beans/side. My husband ordered the mushroom empanadas--he was flustered that they came swimming in sauce. Overall the food was good--I ate one taco before I switched to keep him happy. He enjoyed the tacos as well, and the empanadas were tasty--I just ate them w/out the sauce--it was just too much for me."

  • "I was not impressed with this restaurant but would give it a second try. it was a very quiet night when my friend and I went. There was some confusion with my reservation, perhaps due to some language issues. I had to call the restaurant later to make sure they knew it was an Open Table reservation since the person at the hostess station didn't understand when I arrived and told her it was an Open Table reservation. My red snapper was overcooked. However the sides were delicious and my friend and I enjoyed the Guacamole made at the table."
