  • "We were in Scottsdale for a weekend and found the Blue Adobe Grill. The food was excellent and the service on par with the best restaurants around. They have a nice outdoor patio, that was reasonably quite considering it is surrounded by a parking lot. Their menu has so many tempting items that it was hard to decide. I went for the shrimp rellano and lobster tamale. All I can say is YUMMY!. We had a great meal with a great server. Highly recommended and it is very reasonably priced"

  • "For foodies who like the tastes of the state of New Mexico, this is the place to go. Chunks of pork tenderloin and beef tenderloin are featured in the rellanos and tamales and the green chile corn chowder is to die for. The shrimp enchilada on the Taos Plate was fabulous."

  • "We wanted something a little different from their wonderful Southwest items, so we both tried one of their steak entrees. They are 6 ounce fillets which are very tender and tasty. They have several selections, each coming with either a different sauce and/or different side items. We were both very pleased with our dinners. And to top it off, it was "True Blue Thursday" when you get either a salad or soup and creme brulee with any of their Blue Plate entrees or Steaks for free. We both had the Hatch Chile Chicken Corn Chowder which was fantastic. I can't say enough good stuff about the food at this place! We come back often."

Everyone in our group of 4 had something different, and none of us was disappointed. Service and seating was great on the patio. The restaurant cooperated with our group, bringing in a birthday cake that we had brought with us secretly. Totally great experience."

  • "We went expecting a typical New Mexican menu but discovered a great cod dinner was featured on the Friday night we were there This was a very pleasant surprise for a couple of people in our party. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive to our needs. The only complaint I have is that the portion of beans and rice that accompanied our dishes was much too large. Not only was it more than we wanted to eat, but it was crowding the main entree items that we ordered and affected the presentation of the food."

  • "Tries to have a reasonably priced traditional Southwest Menu and succeeds very well. Food was excellent, but not very spicy. We visited on a Friday night with live music and it was very loud. While not exactly a typically kid-type place they had a kid menu and treated my seven-year old well. Though he was much better behaved than his average, a little boisterousness would have gone totally unnoticed in the loud atmosphere."

The Cruz Kitchen Signature is always a good selection because you get to try 3 of their best items. But for most people, be prepared to take home leftovers. It's a lot of food! I have somewhat of a complaint about the noise level. We've been here numerous times when there has been live music in the bar, and the music was enjoyable and not too loud. But it was very loud this visit. It was difficult to hear each other at the table. Maybe it was just this particular performer ..."

Interesting selection, delicious good and outstanding, friendly, well-informed server. It was noisy but not too noisy - more of a nice, lively feel. And the best part was you could make a reservation online."

We were seated promptly despite arriving to a very very full restaurant a little early for our reservations with a friendly smile. Drinks were A++ with the "must try going to the Don Culio. The entrees were just as advertised, traditional mexican cuisine taken to a much much higher "new" Mexican level. Beef tenderloin in a chile relleno breaded in panko instead of the same tired egg wash? So freaking good. Also the honey ranchero sauce on the tamale & wood grilled shrimp in the seafood enchilada were out of this world. They wrapped it up with genuinely exceptional service and a great owner check-in. Go. NOW."

  • "What a yummy place, the food was outstanding. To start the salsa was not your typical jarred salsa, definitely homemade! We went out to have the stacked enchiladas and the special combo plate which had a tamale, shrimp enchilada and stuffed poblano pepper. The only item we did not love too much was he apple sopapilla , the sopapilla was tasteless and way too much honey was drizzled on. Service was very attentive and outdoors is probably the best place to sit."

When we arrived we were told there was a special limited menu for that night and we weren't able to order off the regular menu. No mention of this when I made the reservation. Special menu included 4 courses with 4 entree choices. I would have preferred just an entree and a choice off the menu."
