Diner Reviews
  • "Good food, good service. Lobster mac and cheese was good and spicy, Kitchen Sink was very tasty."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "All good. Great food, vibe, and live (but not over the top distracting) music. We left very happy - and slightly tipsy."
    Dined on 4/4/2014
  • "The food was out of this world good - the service and recommendations were fantastic."
    Dined on 4/1/2014
  • "Food was very good and well priced. The service was impeccable but not overbearing. They seemed to genuinely care that you were well looked after. Did give me salt on my margarita when I had specifically asked for no salt. Other than that, very nice place."

  • "We were looking for a local restaurant that specialized in Southwestern cuisine. The Blue Adobe Grill fit the bill perfectly. Food options were excellent and our choices were excellent."
    Dined on 3/25/2014
  • "We were in Scottsdale for a weekend and found the Blue Adobe Grill. The food was excellent and the service on par with the best restaurants around. They have a nice outdoor patio, that was reasonably quite considering it is surrounded by a parking lot. Their menu has so many tempting items that it was hard to decide. I went for the shrimp rellano and lobster tamale. All I can say is YUMMY!. We had a great meal with a great server. Highly recommended and it is very reasonably priced"

  • "For foodies who like the tastes of the state of New Mexico, this is the place to go. Chunks of pork tenderloin and beef tenderloin are featured in the rellanos and tamales and the green chile corn chowder is to die for. The shrimp enchilada on the Taos Plate was fabulous."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "We wanted something a little different from their wonderful Southwest items, so we both tried one of their steak entrees. They are 6 ounce fillets which are very tender and tasty. They have several selections, each coming with either a different sauce and/or different side items. We were both very pleased with our dinners. And to top it off, it was "True Blue Thursday" when you get either a salad or soup and creme brulee with any of their Blue Plate entrees or Steaks for free. We both had the Hatch Chile Chicken Corn Chowder which was fantastic. I can't say enough good stuff about the food at this place! We come back often."

  • "The food is great, but the service was very slow. Also, the noise level is tremendous, usually had no idea what my guest was saying to me, since I don't read lips.! Good luck in finding a parking place near the restaurant."

  • "Saw restaurant as recommended via Google so gave it a try. We were on vacation and wanted to try something new yet wanted some familar Mexican dishes. Food was good, service was very friendly and helpful in deciding. Our girls had good options they liked. Live singer was nice touch. We had a good time there."

  • "We live out of town and look forward to eating here when we travel to Scottsdale. The food is so good that we had dinner here two evenings in a row. This way we had the chance to try some of their other great entrees."
    Dined on 3/25/2014
  • "We always make a point of eating here whenever we make to the Phoenix area for Spring Training. Great food. Reservations advised."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "Not the first time I have gone there. I have never been disappointed. The homemade roasted salsa served with chips is soooo good. Everyone in our group of 4 had something different, and none of us was disappointed. Service and seating was great on the patio. The restaurant cooperated with our group, bringing in a birthday cake that we had brought with us secretly. Totally great experience."

  • "I'm a New Mexcian food snob (grew up there) and have to say, the best Mexican cuisine I've had outside the state! The green and red chili was a little weak. Our waitress was execellente'"

  • "I'd heard good thing and made a point of going there. Meh. The awful live music didn't help. If you like bad covers of Hall and Oates, and average Mexican food, you'll love it."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "We enjoyed our dinner very much. The Blue Adobe is a wonderful place to eat. We will go back."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "We went expecting a typical New Mexican menu but discovered a great cod dinner was featured on the Friday night we were there This was a very pleasant surprise for a couple of people in our party. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive to our needs. The only complaint I have is that the portion of beans and rice that accompanied our dishes was much too large. Not only was it more than we wanted to eat, but it was crowding the main entree items that we ordered and affected the presentation of the food."
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • ""I love the relaxed feel of this place - like a comfortable dining room in a friends home but you don't have to clean up. I will definitely would return to try more dishes. The chips & salsa are amazing and the Tenderloin Chile Relleno is the best. The owner is always pleasant, helpful and ready to accommodate."

  • "We frequent this establishment every time we get out to Az. We love the food and the service. Everything is great."
    Dined on 3/4/2014
  • "Service was fair. Food tasted average and seafood enchiladas tasted more like chicken. Advertised shrimp, but none in the enchilada. They did remove the cost of the entree, but that really wasn't the purpose of dining there. Waitress hard to find. Overall I wouldn't recommend the restaurant. It was just average."

  • "My husband isn't a fan of Mexican food and I adore it. We both loved our food and all the choices. We can't wait to go back."

  • "Delicious NM style food lovingly prepared and great service"
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "Tries to have a reasonably priced traditional Southwest Menu and succeeds very well. Food was excellent, but not very spicy. We visited on a Friday night with live music and it was very loud. While not exactly a typically kid-type place they had a kid menu and treated my seven-year old well. Though he was much better behaved than his average, a little boisterousness would have gone totally unnoticed in the loud atmosphere."

  • "Great chicken quesadillas, fair salad. Perky wait staff and live music on Thursday's."
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "Four of us drove over 40 minutes to eat there. It was worth the trip. We ordered the pork tenderloin, tacos, seafood enchiladas and sampler. Everyone loved what they had. We had a very good server. The prickly pear margaritas were great. We are planning on returning soon.."

  • "What a great meal! We had a beautiful night to eat on their patio. The server made some excellent recommendations and we enjoyed every bite."
    Dined on 3/12/2014
  • "The food was simply fantastic. This restaurant is a neighborhood gem but also worth a drive from anywhere in the Scottsdale area. A varied New Mexico centric menu with reasonable prices. Just an outstanding experience in every way."

  • "Dined this past Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was awesome and our server was attentive. The owner stopped by and checked on us, made us feel special. Will recommend to friends and family."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "I've been there several times and enjoyed each time. We always sit on the patio which is charming. The food is Santa Fe style with an excellent menu encompassing full dinners and smaller plates and great variety of choices. They have a good wine list and the service is prompt and over the top customer friendly. Over all a very pleasant dining experience! I would definitely go back."

  • "We love the food here, but we weren't sure that our out of town guests would feel the same way. But they thought it was great too. The Cruz Kitchen Signature is always a good selection because you get to try 3 of their best items. But for most people, be prepared to take home leftovers. It's a lot of food! I have somewhat of a complaint about the noise level. We've been here numerous times when there has been live music in the bar, and the music was enjoyable and not too loud. But it was very loud this visit. It was difficult to hear each other at the table. Maybe it was just this particular performer ..."

  • "We came with a group and had a wonderful time! Our waiter was attentive, funny and helpful. The margaritas were terrific and special dishes we'd recommend: Blue corn seafood enchiladas, raspberry chipotle pork tenderloin and meatloaf. Delicious appetizers too"

  • "Hi We have been in Phoenix for six days and really hadn't yet had an excellent meal. Then we found Blue Adobe Grill on Urban Spoon and it was everything the reviews had promised. Interesting selection, delicious good and outstanding, friendly, well-informed server. It was noisy but not too noisy - more of a nice, lively feel. And the best part was you could make a reservation online."

  • "A+ for service, drinks, and food. Its been years since I can remember being so completely satisfied with a dining experience. We were seated promptly despite arriving to a very very full restaurant a little early for our reservations with a friendly smile. Drinks were A++ with the "must try going to the Don Culio. The entrees were just as advertised, traditional mexican cuisine taken to a much much higher "new" Mexican level. Beef tenderloin in a chile relleno breaded in panko instead of the same tired egg wash? So freaking good. Also the honey ranchero sauce on the tamale & wood grilled shrimp in the seafood enchilada were out of this world. They wrapped it up with genuinely exceptional service and a great owner check-in. Go. NOW."

  • "Although billed as Santa Fe/Northern New Mexican fare, my wife and I found little that resembled that cuisine we know and love. It takes more than Hatch green chiles to define New Mexican cuisine. We found the food to be OK, but definitely not Northern New Mexican in character."

  • "They have the best Ancho salmon salad. I put it on the Chip Chop Salad. It is delicious. Always have a great meal when we are there."
    Dined on 2/22/2014
  • "This was our third time there. It's been great each time. Service and food. Very consistent. I have ordered something different each time and every dish has been outstanding."
    Dined on 2/22/2014
  • "Always excellent. Try the meatloaf! Yes, meatloaf at a Southwestern restaurant. Service is great. Menu is quite varied and there is something for everyone."
    Dined on 2/22/2014
  • "What a yummy place, the food was outstanding. To start the salsa was not your typical jarred salsa, definitely homemade! We went out to have the stacked enchiladas and the special combo plate which had a tamale, shrimp enchilada and stuffed poblano pepper. The only item we did not love too much was he apple sopapilla , the sopapilla was tasteless and way too much honey was drizzled on. Service was very attentive and outdoors is probably the best place to sit."

  • "This is a great restaurant. I had the salmon taco and the crab cake taco. Both were very good. The beans were also tasty. Love their iced tea, too."

  • "Found this restaurant on open table and the menu sounded interesting. Made reservations for Valentine's dinner. When we arrived we were told there was a special limited menu for that night and we weren't able to order off the regular menu. No mention of this when I made the reservation. Special menu included 4 courses with 4 entree choices. I would have preferred just an entree and a choice off the menu."
