On the quiet eastern front of Yorkville, set back behind a brick façade, Blu is an Italian restaurant based on authentic classic cuisine, yet, contemporary created by executive Chef; Massimo Callovini and Chef de Cuisine; Eric Bucher


Warmly lit stone walls and grand mirrors surround cozy leather seating and dark wood tables. Enter through a casual wine bar, which then leads to a hip, upscale dining room with an inviting ambiance.

Dinner is enhanced by the soothing live music Friday to Saturday. Pianist/singer, guitarrist/singer. Enjoy impeccable service for intimate dining or for large private parties up to 110 guests. Private rooms also available. One will remember Blu as a true memorable dining experience.

  • "Blu Ristorante was a fantastic place mixed with ambiance, food and service. Slightly pricey but worth every penny. I was there on my first date and it was a perfect choice. No regrets. Service was exemplary. They were prompt and very accommodating. Unlike other restaurants, we had 2 servers. There wasnt a a policy of 1 table 1 server. I did miss the live music, may b coz i was there on a weekday. I feel they should have more vegetarian variety becoz my date was a vegan and the choices were very limited. Would definitely rate 4.5/5. For the complete experience. Worth a visit."

  • "I enjoyed dinner with my Mom-in-Law at Blu on a Tuesday night. Blu is an all-round excellent dining experience that starts the moment you enter. Guests receive a warm greeting and coat check, are exposed to lovely surroundings, and enjoy many delicious flavour combinations that delight the palate. Staff members clearly love what they do and it resonates into a memorable dining experience. Will definitely return with my husband!"

  • "Had a phenomenal evening at Blu. Appetizer special was off the charts (tuna tartare on a leek fonduta with truffled aioli)! Mushroom risotto was absolutely perfect! Really attentive and knowledgeable waiting staff. Good wine selection and excellent 'pace' of the meal progression. Cannot wait to return the next time I'm in Toronto!"

  • "This was our first time coming here and it won't be our last. We loved the atmosphere, exposed stone walls, live music and very welcoming staff. It was a nice elegant restaurant without being pretentious or stuffy. The food was really good too. We each tried something different and all our meals were great. Good variety on the menu and really nice food combinations. The olive oil cake was great and so were the scallops."

  • "We went here thinking this is an Italian restaurant... there's a hint of of but it is more like fusion ala French-Nouveau!!! They're in Yorkville so why try hard to be pretentious? What's up with a very tiny portions given out as 'on-the house' appetizer? We've dined in real "nouveau" French restaurants in Paris and all over the world but never yet presented with microscopic food. (Even Susur's teasers are bigger) Just drop it.. stop trying hard!! More to their fusion experimentation... why ruin a nice delicate Chilean Sea bass with tongue-numbing kale accompaniment? This restaurant is definitely has a major identity crisis. The only salvation is their atmosphere - nice and quite."

  • "Delicious food in a lovely room with perfect service, attentive yet discreet. The resto website noted a pianist, but a guitarist played. Although initially disappointed, it was delightful music. My adult daughters raved about the yummy food, but it's definitely not for the budget conscious. Go for the bass, skip the seafood pasta."

  • "We found this restaurant by chance, since it is in Yorkville but not in the most popular area. It had very good comments on Open Table and we decided to give it a try. Tha ambiance was elegant and classy. There was a musician playing the guitar and singing, but it never became a nuisance, on the contrary. Service was not specially quick, but always very attentive and helpful. The owner, Alfredo Rodriguez, made us feel at home with his welcoming comments. The food was very enjoyable, with special mention of the main courses. The saltimbocca was flavorful and rich, and the Chilean sea bass was probably one of the best pieces of fish I have ever eaten - and I come from Spain where eating fish is close to a religion. A great find!"

  • "My wife and I went for Valentines Day. We went on Saturday instead of Friday so we could be more relaxed. We booked the 5:45 reservation spot. Paid Parking was within steps. Food was amazing and tantalizing on your tastebuds. I can't remember the name of my salad but it was the best salad I have ever had. Im not even fond of salads. It was with shave pear, walnuts etc. in case you want to try. We also had the veal marsala and the Sea Bass. Both were out of this world better and different than anything I have ever had. Wine was fantastic. Cant remember the name but from Italy. I make it a habit to ask the waiter what they recommend whenever I am in a restaurant I have never been to."

  • "Getting into Blu was a little difficult; entering the foyer, the light level drops significantly while the actual entry door into the restaurant is camouflaged. Inside it was warm, cozy, & relaxed. Piped-in music at an appropriate level & barely registered the start of the live music.Cheese & chacuterie to start - enough to share. Beef Carpaccio and Seared Scallop appetizers excellent, although another crostini or 2 would've been welcome. Beef tenderloin & Lobster/Crab Fettucine - big chunks of Lobster & Crab, & just the right amount of pasta. Perfect dessert idea, a selection of truffles, poached pear, biscotti, choc-covered strawberries, tiramisu, & baileys creme brulee. Server friendly not intrusive, & good timing. Will be back very soon"

  • "This restaurant has a great ambiance and feel. It was quite busy but not very noisy which was nice. The music was not too loud either so we could hear ourselves talk. Our waitress was fantastic and very attentive and made some great recommendations for our meal and especially our wine. We chose the Winterlicious menu and I had the salmon dish and I was amazed, so delicious. My friend does not really like salmon but I asked him to try it and he couldn't believe how delicious it was. He ordered the chicken dish which he said was fantastic as well. The only disappointing item was my dessert which was poached pears. Other than that, I was very happy with my dining experience at Blu and would definitely return."

  • "Living and working in the neighbor hood, yet for some reason never visited before. Always noticed the beautiful decor walking by. Not disappointed, inside is beautiful. Very busy due to Winterlicious. Had to wait for booked table. Apologies accepted, we enjoyed a beautiful dinner. Waiter Don was knowledgeable and fun. Osso- bucco was very good and everyone enjoyed their meal. Family thoroughly enjoyed our special meal. Wines can be a little expensive. Overall a great night. Will definitely return."

  • "Went with a group of friends on Saturday night. Everything we ordered from the Negroni off the cocktail menu right through to the dessert was delicious! We all tried different appetizers but we all ordered but the stuffed acorn squash as our main. Even the non-vegetarians were impressed! For dessert we shared one of everything. The best one was the tiramisu. We would definitely go back to this restaurant."

I had the salmon which came with a tiny salad, a couple a pieces of fennel and One potato wedge, also choice of dessert. I guess for $35.00, I can't complain. The reason to try the winterlicious was to find out their food quality and it's atmosphere. But this experience wasn't good of the above reasons."

  • "The food and atmosphere were impeccable, we loved every moment we were there. I had the arugula salad as an antipasto, the stuffed chicken as my main course and poached pear for dessert. The serving portions are perfect and the good fantastic, the different spices used all play on your taste buds. I call it taste bud heaven! Great wine list. The evening we ate dinner they had an incredibly talented guitarist singing which definitely set a perfect romantic atmosphere for my fiancée and I. There were bigger groups around us who were also enjoying the atmosphere. I would return to Blu ristorante again and I've already recommended them to all of my family and friends."

Vegetables were delicious. My pear salad was very good. My husband pasta was good, he said he would not order it again. Deserts were also presented well and were quite delicious. We were not rushed and felt the service was quite good. dinner about $300 for two with wine, coffee and one desert."
