A lighter environment has been created that is enhanced by the richness of Macassar Ebony tables and matching suede.   • "My husband had been to BLT several times before and enjoyed it so I took him there Saturday night for his birthday. Our server was very pleasant and encouraged me to order the special salad with arugula and melon. It was delicious. We ordered the porterhouse steak for 2 and that was disappointing. To pay almost $100 for this steak and have the filet fatty and some slices of the strip tough was just unacceptable. My husband didn't want to make a fuss so I didn't say anything to the server. Also, the sides of creamed spinach and potatoes were just enough for one person, barely enough for two. We will not be going back."

  • "Came here based on the Yelp reviews, and I was not disappointed. The food was fantastic, and I was really surprised how many things came out complimentary, including the puffs and the bread with the liver jelly. Both truly great! The steaks were cooked perfectly with great flavor. Good sides that complimented the meal well, and our server was amazing. he truly understood the menu, gave great recommendations and steered us away from things based on the information we gave him. He was awesome! I'll gladly go back. The only down side, and this will be a matter of your opinion, is that the inside of the restaurant is extremely noisy. So, we opted to sit outside, and really enjoyed the evening breeze. Great meal!"

  • "I took my teenage son and a guest to dinner here Saturday night. We all had the filet mignons which were excellent. The hot popover bread was delicious. We had fries, onion rings and asparagus for sides which were all very good. My son had two orders of the fries. I also tried to the spinach salad which was very large and I wasn't able to finish it. The desserts were outstanding we shared warm cinnamon donuts with coffee ice cream and warm chocolate tart. They have patio dining .The food quality, service and attention were what you would expect for this price level. The restaurant is more of a younger bistro feel with placemats, current music, and a large screen tv near the bar."

  • "Reservations 830pm Saturday, July 5th. Arrived 801pm, went to bar had a nice Rose. Table ready at 830pm, seated, water poured. 15 minutes later, served Chicken Liver pate, not very appetizing, tasted it, sort of set the tone for the evening. I would rethink serving Chicken Liver pate as a first taste. (I'm sure there are those that love it, but not for me). Another 15 minutes past so now about 9pm and we had to tell someone to ask our waiter to take our order. Cesar salad dry and overwhelming taste of anchovy in the sauce. NY strip medium, was very tough, not that good, only ate half the steak. Overheard other tables complaining about the quality of the steak. Too pricing for mediocre tasting food."

  • "My steak was severly undercooked. Halfway through our meal, the manager took over the table service. I made the reservation and told on here, even called to tell them it was my girlfriends birthday, I told them I wanted to do something special and asked if they brought cake or anything the hostess replied yes and abruptly cut me off and hung up. After dinner just the check. Making me look like a dick when there was nothing special for her birthday. This isn't my first bad experience with BLT, the last one was in Atlanta and I had to write their cooperate office an email. Next time, I'll be dining at STK. I'm officially done with this place."

  • "The reviews are spot on! I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we were blown away at the level of service, the quality of the food and the options available. I put in a small request with my open table reservation to have a birthday candle placed in his dessert, but they went above and beyond - all the staff told him happy birthday, and the chef sent several complimentary dishes to the table. He had the best time and we both had the best steaks we had ever had. Of note, spring for the premium Waygu sampler while it's on the menu - it was worth every penny!! :)"

  • "We had never been to BLT and I chose it for a special lunch after my son's graduation. I made a note of the occasion in my reservation as well as the fact that my son has some food allergies. When they greeted us, they congratulated my son and inquired about his allergies. Very attentive wait staff, friendly, warm. Just made the lunch very special, as if we were regulars. Loved the food--delicious, everything. A memorable lunch for a memorable day. Don't go if you're on a budget--it was worth it, but it is definitely for special occasions."

  • "As much as I was hoping to have a great experience here, it just wasn't. The ambiance is always more along the lines of power lunch/dinner, which is not a big deal, especially considering the restaurant location. The service was excellent, could not have been better. My steak though, that's another story. It was very dry, bland and overdone. I really wished to find something positive about the food, but I couldn't. The price tag just added more salt to the wound. BLT is a safe choice for people looking to get their meat fix, but I definitely think there's better out there."

  • "Spent a pretty penny, but this is a great spot for a special occasion dinner. Service is wonderful, drinks are fabulous. Skip the hen of the woods mushrooms, too hard to eat. Had the tuna, amazing. Rest of the table enjoyed steaks, winner was the short ribs. Chocolate peanut butter moose was great, carrot cake was more of ginger cake. Over all, excellent meal, excellent time."

  • "We waited too long for dinner and had to ask if it was on its way (very out of character for us). We had to track our waiter down at the end of the meal to get our chek as well. Our waiter seemed very preoccupied with other tables and it was clear that he had too much to do to be attentive to us. The rest of the staff was very attentive. 2 of 3 meals were excellent - a ribeye steak was ok at best- frankly we get better at Costco. The check for 3 was over $300 with only one drinking alcohol (wine) - which amplifies the service issues. Fun atmosphere - pretty loud but we were comfortable."

I had assumed it was going to be a bit more "romantic", but the restaurant was filled with DC movers and shakers and the place was a bit loud, but only because people were enjoying the food and each others company. We were there during prime dinner hour, so if a later time had been chosen perhaps the ambiance would have been more conducive to my romantic intent. No matter, the excellence of the food and staff far outweighed any disappointment I thought I was going to have because the noise level of conversations was too high. The filet mignon was butter..."

  • "BLT Steak is exactly what a high-end business-suit lunch spot should be: smart, efficient and flawlessly executed. It's also pricey, but look beyond the expensive Kobe steaks to find healthy, affordable gems like the generous chopped salad with meat options and the lightly dressed Salad Nicoise (but order it with seared fresh tuna rather than the preserved tuna it usually comes with). It also has one of the best dessert menus in town, and it's worth the modest calorie investment to finish with a scoop of the luxurious huckleberry sorbet."

  • "I had eaten here for a group event and was so impressed with the preselected menu that I wanted to back. Went with a small group this time and it was even more impressive than the first! Great blood orange margeritas, oysters, popovers (don't skip those!), steaks and desserts. A little noisy and pretty expensive, but I can't wait to go back, just as soon as I can lose the weight that I'm sure I gained that night! Service staff was also top rate from the hostesses to bartender to wait staff."

Unfortanately, the waiter didnt offer more bread. The waiter was very polite, but it took too much time to get our order. The food was not bad, but there was no relation price/quality. I would expect more for the bill that I got. I will think a lot before come back. "

The service was on point, the servers kept the drinks filled and we received constant attention from the servers and management. The food was superb and the desert was delightful (I had the peanut butter chocolate mousse)! I will definitely return to try the lunch menu and other items on the dinner and desert menu."

  • "Went there with my parents, based on reviews I had read. Was disappointed by my experience. Although my filet mignon was good, my mom's rib-eye was of poor quality. Not worth the money. Side-dishes were average: creamy spinach were "boring", onion rings not crispy at all, and green beans barely cooked. Too expensive for what we got. Would definitely recommend to try another steakhouse."

  • "My wife and I got a filet and a rib eye. Both were cooked very nicely. Only fault was that they were supposed to butterfly for her well done filet, but seem to have forgotten, so it had some pinkness. Au gratin potatoes were awesome, beets were yummy, and salad was deliscious. Desert, the peanut butter chocolate mouse, was absolutely incredible. Oh, and holy popovers!!"

  • "Good but not outstanding steaks for the price. I guess a strip steak is not the most tender cut but still for $48, I would have expected something really outstanding. The short ribs on the other hand were terrific. Service of food is strange as they bring the steak or side dish to the table on a plate or pan but I would have expected the waiter to then transfer the food to my plate or at least provide a fork or other utensil with the dish. Instead I was left alone to use my own fork to forked the steak out of the servicing dish - not very elegant for a $50 steak. Otherwise the service was attentive."
