Also, had the porterhouse for two which was delicious and prepared perfectly. We are always pleased with the exceptional service and outstanding quality of the food and wines. I think that they have the best burger and fries in the city and Caesar salad too. Great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thought we tend to order beef the seafood that we have had there is excellent. Even the warm gruyere popovers that are offered instead of the expected bread basket were as good as those I make for my family at every holiday meal. From the salads to the lamb to the steaks and collard greens, everything was prepared to perfection. In addition, our server was attentive without being obsequious. The first course was an amazing pork sausage with a nice ratatouille. Second was pork belly with spatzel. Sounds like a strange combo, but it was so good! The main course was smokey pork chop with fresh morel mushrooms! Even the dessert had bacon! Lemon sorbet with thin strips of bacon. Just enough to lend a slight smokiness to the dessert. Cooked to perfection! The only downside was the fact that we wanted dessert and decided on their caramelized cheesecake. I would have never paid $10 for it if I saw the cheesecake before I bought it. It was a fantastic tasting cheesecake, but the size was not worth the money. The lobster and avocado cobb salad was very good. The lobster was fresh and did not have lobster roe and so did not taste fishy. The wine service was excellent. They worked as a team and ensured our glasses was always full. My wife had the rib-eye which was very good. It had a smokey flavor to it and cooked perfectly (med). I had the braised short ribs. The ribs were by far the best, biggest and "fall off the bone" meat I've had! The kids shared a pizza and mac n cheese. The pizza and mac n cheese was very light and very good. It 's one of the healthiest kid pizza's I've seen. We ended the night with a sticky toffee pudding. Again, amazing. Go before 9pm.Go if you want highly flavored really rich food. I went twice in two nights - staying at the hotel. First night this amazing chicken - different from so many places and really great. Night two was steak and sides. Everything was so intensely rich - read high calories from oils - that we were both full even sharing one steak. But delish. Only minor irritant - if you go anytime near 10pm - as of 10pm the servers told us they stop serving no matter what - no dessert, no post dessert wines, nothing. No negotiation. It is over.
