I had dinner with 4 friends on 7/23. We shared everything, and all dishes were winners. I have never had a better fish dinner. One of our party has celiac disease and her needs were easily accommodated, with the chef providing a different biscuit, and removing farro from the carrot side dish. We shared the scallop, octopus, and salad appetizers; we shared two whole fish; carrots, kale and mushroom side dishes; the strawberry dessert. Portion sizes varied substantially with the scallop being the smallest. We enjoyed this so much that we decided our next gathering (in September) would be at the same restaurant, with the table just off the open kitchen.

my husband and I took my son and his girlfriend here for my birthday dinner. it was a Monday night and the upstairs dinning room was empty except for two or three tables. There were more in help than dinners. It took 20 minuets to get our drinks and we had to ask where my husband's appetizer was as the rest of us had finished ours. Overall a disappointing evening.

I was excited to try BLT Fish as a fan of BLT. My Friday night date expanded to a dinner for 6. Everyone was very nice and helpful with increasing my party size from 2 to 6. Even though the food quality was spot on, the execution was lacking. The grilled octopus with olive tapenade and potato purée starter was great, however, nothing else was memorable. If possible I would go back for the starter and Watermelon Basil cocktail only.

This was our first time at BLT Fish and it was very good. The food, service, and atmosphere were all that. Julio, our server, was very helpful with the menu and with any questions we had. We ordered the Whole Fish for 2, and it was outstanding. The 3rd floor kitchen is open to the diners, so you can see what they are preparing. When we are back in NYC, BLT Fish will be on the agenda.

It's been as few years since we ate here last, and I remember it being much better. The noise level was intolerable. Although the food was still quite good, the portions were very small and we left hungry. We shared a $68 fish designated for two that should have been for one person. It's going to be a while, if ever, that we return. There are just too many other places in the city to have good fish without the hastle and high price!

Our meal last night at BLT Fish was perfection. Dishes included a refreshing and tasty amuse bouche, wonderful mushroom, superbly cooked asparagus and brussel sprouts,a terrific new pasta dish, dover sole cooked to perfection and very moist and delicious chocolate cake with creamy vanilla ice cream. The food was plated beautifully, which served to enhance the wonderful flavors. Chef Luke is really at the top of his game! This has become our favorite restaurant ! Also very excited about the new herb/vegetable garden that you have started.

We've eaten at Fish several times and the food is consistently very good. It got a little too noisy for us for what we hoped would be a quiet, low key Tuesday night dinner. It's worth it for the seared tuna and, as always, a selection of oysters on the half shell. Always fresh, always good.

I came here to celebrate my 3yr annuversary & the food like any BLT is pretty solid but I don't recommend the asparagus soup. The crab in the accompanying grilled cheese was barely noticeable, the soup portion was tiny & a bit bland.

Upstairs/downstairs--two different dining experiences at BLT. My reservation was for the upstairs restaurant—elegant without being fussy--and the same is true for the food. Supremely fresh fish. The fluke carpaccio tasted like spring. We shared the salt crusted Branzino for two; the portions were beyond generous. Wait staff exceptionally thoughtful and courteous. And, what's more, my friend and I could actually conduct a conversation on a Friday night without having to shout. A pleasure from start to finish. I look forward to returning soon.

We were somewhat disappointed in BLT. I thought for the money the food was just adequate. My husband had halibut and felt it was very plain. I had red snapper and had to turn the fish over to get at the meat which there was very little of. The service was great when we first got there but became spotty once it got crowded. I would not recommend this restaurant. I don't mind spending for dinner but I expect quality food and service.

Very pleased with this restaurant. The entrees were delicious. I've eaten a lot of salmon, but this was certainly the most flavorful that I can recall eating. Their seasonings are noticeable, but very subtle and not overpowering. The servings are ample, without being overwhelming. The presentation was lovely, but not overdone.

Plusses: Quiet room (actually a little too quiet on a rainy Monday night), very professional service, food quality generally very good (though not universally, see below). Minuses: Extremely limited menu, high prices, oysters not the freshest (especially inexcusable at these prices). Not a disaster but not a triumph either. Will not be rushing back.

The steamed sea bass was best fish we have ever eaten out in NYC. The grilled fennel was a great accompianment. The cauliflower was not as good. The cheddar chive biscuits served with honey butter and sea salt were fabulous. The amuse bouches were terrific too. Also, dessert was great. They serve orange flavored cotton candy in a glass jar with all desserts! Nostalgic and fun! We had a delicious Sancerre wine with our dinner.

Blown away at how delicious the grilled octopus salad and red crab ravioli turned out. these appetizers simply kicked off the start of a great evening where the kitchen's talent absolutely shown through. I appreciated the attentive staff and aside from a wobbly table that nearly cost me one Paloma cocktail, I would totally return to try other items on the menu. For a Friday evening, the upstairs restaurant seating wasn't overly crowded, which was a nice plus, as the first floor saw a more informal, louder setting. The place makes a solid Paloma but a great extra dirty martini. Congrats BLT fish. You've got talent in that kitchen!

I love everything about this restaurant. I initially tried it when they were having their 3 year anniversary promotion of $3.03+ priced items and fell in love with the food and the place. It feels very romantic yet modern with the open kitchen. I love the spicy cheddar biscuits and the little recipe that accompanies it, great touch. The scallops, grilled octopus, and crab raviolis are absolutely amazing appetizers. I am not a big fan of the entrees so far, tried the green curry lobster which was okay in my opinion and the crispy red snapper was delicious but I was not a fan of the sauce, made it too sweet and I would have preferred to tasted the fresh fish more. Brussel sprouts are absolutely delicious here as well along with the wine.

BLT - Fish: Our experience was very good. You must order the creamed kale and their desserts are fabulous. The service is outstanding and the main reason my experience was so positive. Their drinks are, OMG the drinks!!!! You must try the house cocktails, they're so delicious, you won't want to stop drinking (until you realize, like I did, it's Monday night and you have to work tomorrow). The chef is amazing although a little heavy handed on the salt. I will definitely be back.

The evening started off wonderfully. The hostess greeted us, showed us to our table, and seated us happily. Our server was courteous and knowledgable about our menu and helped us pick out what was good. When the food came out, I was a little surprised to see that the serving size was designed for a toddler. I'm not a very large man so normally I wouldn't complain, but I left the restaurant still hungry. Not the kind of feeling one should have after paying $300 total for just 2 people. It was pretty though.

Apparently I committed a serious BLT Fish crime. I proceeded upstairs without being announced. If i were not meeting a business associate, I would have walked out and enjoyed dinner somewhere else. A hostess and her guard (not sure who that guy was but he escorted me downstairs and seemed to be watching over me) should be friendly, engaging, maybe even helpful. The thing is the food and service were exceptional, but i will never ever eat at any BLT restaurant again.

My wife and I tried BLT Fish in NYC. First we tried the oysters. They were dry. Waiter said that is what we offer. Dry oysters? Well sometimes the juice falls out of the shell but they are fresh. $36 for oysters of poor quality. Next we tried the octopus. Tasted like it was cooked the day before. Awful texture, little flavor. The waiter told us this is how we serve it. Next we tried the Dover Sole and it was overcooked and bland. I told the waiter I never had Dover sole of such poor quality, he said that was how it always was. He said I can take it back but the next one will be the same. We left and decided never to go to another BLT restaurant again. Yuck and overpriced.
