A word from BLT Bar and Grill
BLT Bar & Grill is a modern tavern serving inspired versions of familiar American classics and bar fare with hand-crafted cocktails, beer and wine. The menu features a wide variety of favorites from sharable snacks, fresh salads and grilled meats to market-driven pastas, pizzas and sandwiches. BLT Bar & Grill is everyday dining that still affords impeccable style and service.

BLT Bar & Grill spans two levels, with each floor offering a different energy and experience. The full menu is available throughout the restaurant, but guests can opt to linger in the upstairs dining room or socialize at the bustling downstairs bar. The space features high ceilings with custom-designed wood beam chandeliers draped with Edison bulbs. The warm, tavern-like atmosphere is outfitted in dark red and brown leathers, with neon signage that recalls classic American pub décor.

  • Service was a huge disappointment...

My wife and I came to NYC to spend a weekend in the Big Apple celebrating her birthday. We chose BLT because of the proximity to our hotel, and the desire to have a quiet, relaxing dinner after a busy day of shopping and visiting the 9/11 Museum. Our experience at BLT is definitely the low point of our trip (and that's considering dealing with NYC traffic and the overall experience at LaGuardia airport). The food, itself, at BLT is very good. That said, the service was EXTREMELY poor. When we arrived, we were promptly greeted by a nice hostess and offered the option to dine on the first or second level. We chose the second. When we were taken upstairs, we were the first people seated in the dining room. We were seated behind a wall and basically ignored by waitstaff during the meal. Our drinks were not refilled. A very long time passed between appetizers and entree, at a time when the dining room was (guessing) 5-10% filled. Lots of empty tables. It took 20+ minutes after the table was cleared just to have the waiter return so we could ask for the check. It took even longer to get the actual check. As we were leaving, I noticed that the manager was standing in the same place at the lower level hostess stand as he was when we had arrived 1.5 hours previously. We never saw him come upstairs to check on guests. On our way out the door, he asked how our meal was. After explaining the poor service, he did offer to adjust our check, but by that time, it was too little too late. We had already paid, and I had no interest in waiting around for a check to be adjusted. In general, I would say the food was good, but definitely not worth a return visit, not worth a recommendation to friends or family, and not what I would expect attached/affiliated with a W Hotel. There are better options available nearby.

Having just taken a job downtown, leaving the Gramercy Flatiron area, I have been starving for decent restaurants. BLT Bar and Grill, in the W Hotel, fits the bill, and I am relieved! Now I have somewhere to take people out to lunch in my new "hood." But oh how I do miss Novita, Maialino, and all the rest.

We have been having regular 'Mom' Dinners here almost every month and have never been disappointed! Great atmosphere, awesome views from our favorite table upstairs, attentive service and excellent food. Excited to see a new menu at our most recent dinner. All our favorites still there with some great additions. And who doesn't love BLTs famous popovers!

Being a restaurant in a hotel, you have to expect some ridiculous pricing, even for NYC ($5 for coffee, for example), but the food was decent. We went for brunch. The food was well presented and, overall, good. The Eggs Benedict was served on tiny cheddar biscuits and the poached eggs were a bit overcooked, but everything was well seasoned and tasty. The home fries were exceptional. Coffee was not hot and service was spotty.

This place is a great spot to eat, drink and enjoy your company. The service was great! We intended to enjoy boozy brunch while watching football, however, the comfy beautiful patio had a temporary TV showing the game, but no sound. Inside there was also no sound to watch the games at the bar. Everything was wonderful, but I would not suggest watching the game there in the future.

Brought my wife and daughter here before a show - it was a Friday, so the place was fairly empty being that it was near Wall street (but is attached to the W and across from the 911 museum and memorial). We started with bread - fresh baked and very tasty (on the house). For apps, we had calamari (ok), and beet salad (good). Dinner was the filet (excellent), salmon (very good), and lobster risotto (disappointing flavor - not savory at all), Overall, a solid choice and I would visit again

Nice outdoor seating and pleasant atmosphere, but the food was terrible and the service even worse. Asked for salmon to be done all the way through and basically came out raw. Requested creamed spinach instead of french fries - got french fries. Couldn't point to one thing the service staff did right for entire meal. I expect more from a restaurant affiliated with the W Hotel.

A fine spot for lunch or brunch after a visit to the freedom tower museum. Menu has something for everyone. Kids had burgers & fries, women had omelettes, and the winner was a brunch special enclosed in a donut , which was like a confection! Our server was hepful; when asked her opinion she steered my husband to the donut special saying it was something out of the ordinary, which it surely was! Prices were very reasonable, making it a good choice for a family or group visiting the area.

The room temperature ranged from mildly warm to sauna despite repeated requests. They tried to give us the wrong wine. The burger had dressing on it despite a request for none. The pasta was at best lukewarm and it was impossible to get a server so it could be reheated. At one point a server said the hotel controls the AC so they cold not really do anything!! We have been to other great BLT restaurants so this one was a real BAD surprise.

I was pleasantly surprised with the food and service at BLT Bar and Grill. The BLT brand is one that is consistent for the most part, and it is a brand that I can trust to give good service. However, given the multitude of restaurants in Manhattan with similar styles, tastes, cuisine, and service for a similar price, I can safely say that the BLT experience is one that every person should try once--and perhaps expand their horizons afterwards.

We went for brunch Saturday morning, and were one of only four tables. Despite this, it took over 10 minutes for us to get a simple question answered about the bottomless brunch promotion, after asking both the hostess and the server. It then took over 5 minutes for us to receive our first mimosas once we ordered. We also were seated in a table where the sun was in my boyfriend's eyes, and moved ourselves, which was never even acknowledged by the staff. Our waitress switched about halfway through, and things improved once we received our food (and second and third mimosas), but we probably won't return.

The hostess at this expanding, Chef driven Bistro was the only employee who truly executed proper service standards during our visit. Anticipated my needs, went the extra mile with a request and wore a permanent smile ear to ear. Bartender was mechanical and distracted. Wine pours were very uneven one glass to the next. The server took our order correctly and was pleasant, but had a very large station and could not get back until the check was dropped. The busier tried repeatedly to clear plates before we were finished and did not speak English well, so this became somewhat comical. The food however, was very good. Standouts were deviled eggs, pizza, tuna tartar and crab salad. The popovers are to die for and always made perfectly here.

BLT and the family of restaurants are always good. I think the food is good. The drinks were divine, the salted caramel martini yummy and creamy! We had a melange of dishes brussel sprouts, deviled eggs, calamari, procuitto and the steak. All very good. The dishes arrived on time, were hot and tasted as advertised! The dessert was tiramisu, light fluffy with fresh ladyfingers on top with espresso.
