  • "Once again a great lunch experience at Blossom on a Sunday at noon. One guest had eggs with a cheese biscuit and the rest of us had lunch allowing everyone to have great food exactly as the wanted at a time of the day when this can be difficult. Well priced with a great value."

  • "I went to dinner with out-of-town friends. From the looks of things there were many groups of friends dining at Blossoms last Saturday evening. Our drinks were good. The wine was delightful. Our food was delicious from soup through dessert. We went for seafood. We enjoyed scallops, fried shrimp, and shrimp and grits. Our server seemed to be right there when we needed her. We took our time over dinner. It was a lovely evening."

  • "I took my girlfriend there for her birthday dinner. We had reservations for 4 people then a 5th person shows up that was a maybe for dinner. I explained to the hostess what had happened and she spent little time making the necessary arrangements to accommodate my party of five. We had a great time. The food and service were great. We love the place."

Always great food, beautify setting and no matter how crowded it gets, the noise is never a problem. Also, free parking at night and on the weekends next door. A true delight!!"

I made reservations to Blossom and added a note that it would be my wife's birthday; the rest is history. They totally ran with the idea. The hostess and server greeted my wife with "Happy Birthday". We received other specialties throughout the meal. The entire experience was remarkable. The food was just as great as the service. Blossom was definitely a great find."

  • "The best fried chicken (Magnolias claimed to have it but it's not even close to Blossoms)! This was our 2nd visit and loved it as much as the first. The chorizo app is dynamite too! Food service and overall experience has been great 2 years in a row. We will definitely be returning for a third time soon hopefully!"

  • "I haven't been to Blossom since 2002, it used to be my favorite restaurant in Charleston so with that in mind I brought my husband for the first time. We had mentioned that it was our anniversary (I believe) in our reservation but we were sat behind a large party of 12 in the back near a waiter station, very romantic. All of our food was salty, I had fish and my husband had duck. I remember thinking that my rice was the best part of the meal. Patrick was a great server but the hostesses were unremarkable."

  • "My wife and I dine at Blossom quite a bit, usually for a weekend lunch or a great dinner. We went there on July 3 for our 38th anniversary and it was once again exceptional - not a single complaint. Our server was Nick and his service was outstanding, a very personal young man. My wife had grilled wreck fish and Nick went out of his way to have the chef prepare it differently - with a bed of rice and shrimp instead of over fish stew. I had my usual salmon which has never disappointed. Dessert (southern sundae and peach and blackberry crumble) was also great. We sat against the back wall which is very quiet and romantic. A perfect 10 from our point of view."

  • "Food was average...menu items "sounded" intriguing, but why would you purée a corn chowder, or purée carrots served with short ribs...the shrimp & grits were not flavorful...our guest (from the north) said his fried chicken was "good". The fried oysters were great, but the "Rockefeller" spinach underneath had no seasoning & was undercooked. The "melted" pimento cheese did not complement the fried green tomatoes."

  • "We had a great dinner here Monday night. Food was delicious and and service was great. I love that they also offer small plate options in addition to entrees. Loved the mussels appetizer. I had the cast iron skillet scallops and hubby had the fish stew (can't remember what it was called) and we bot) loved our meal. Red velvet bread pudding was also a hit at our table. We will definitely go again."

  • "Came to Charkeston to celebrate our anniversary. Had previously dined at Magnolias and loved it. But wanted to try Blossom this time. Made a 9pm reso so maybe that was a bad idea. Our server was so lackadaisical that the experience was pretty much less than average. We shared a Fried Green Tomato App and a Fried Chix small plate for first course. Both great. Husband enjoyed his Fried Shrimp entree but I sent back my Duck Duo. The leg was great but the breast was overcooked and dry. Had to "flag down" the server to let him know. They did send a complimentary delicious creme brûlée. The entire experience may have been better reviewed if our service hadn't been so bad. Wouldn't go back and sad to say that"

The only complaint was that our food was out so fast that we had no build up in anticipation of our fantastic meal!! Everything was so fresh and tasty, we cannot wait to come back again next year!"

  • "Food was great! I had the Duck and my wife had the scallops, both were wonderful. Wine selection was OK, not extensive. We liked our server, who did a great job. Unfortunately, the overall noise level of the restaurant was much too busy for us. Dessert was lacking as well. We ordered the southern sundae. The best part about it was the pecan pie ice cream; aside from that, it was ho-hum. We should have ordered the red velvet bread pudding like our server recommended."

  • "My husband and I met an old friend from out of town at Blossom. I was worried about patio dining. It was 100 degrees and I knew I did not want to be outside. However the seating was inside with an open glass roof that made you feel like you were on the patio but was very cool. Our server was excellent and attentive. We all had She-Crab soup as an appetizer. It was average, maybe a little more flour than my taste (being from Charleston). However, my guest loved it. My guest very much enjoyed his shrimp and grits and my husband loved the Mahi. I got the Lettuce Wraps with an Asian shrimp that was pan-fried. It was OK. I should have gotten the Shrimp and grits too! We had drinks that were delicious. I would definitely return againg"

  • "The food was great and the menu was nice. There were some great deserts too. The waitress was very nice but the service had much to be desired. It seemed as though we were either being rushed or ignored. We had to ask for bread even though there were bread plates & butter knives on the table. When the salads were served fresh ground pepper was not offered. It appeared that all the wait staff huddled together in a central area of the restaurant with their backs toward the guests. I would recommend this restaurant but I would hope the service would be better."

  • "We took my in-laws to Blossom's for brunch last Sunday. I had the Huevos Rancheros; could not have been a better choice. The presentation and the taste was out of this world, just enough heat. My wife went for the chicken and doughnuts, which is equivalent to chicken and waffles and we excellent as well. For the price and ambience, Blossoms is a rare find in Charleston."

  • "I had the special "Tile Fish" this past Sat.PM. I wish the waitress had mentioned in her description it would be spicy. It was almost uneatable. My husband had the short rib and it was small, tough and stringy. We were very disappointed and will not return. The waitress was very pleasant, jovial & friendly. The restaurant it's self is beautiful."

  • "Blossom used to be one of our downtown favorites and reliable standbys. This recent experience changed that, I was entertaining out of town guests and I was embarrassed I talked Blossom up. The service was slow, the waiter wasn't knowledgeable of the menu nor friendly. Every time he came to the table he gave the impression he needed to be somewhere else. When we were giving our drink order we intended to order a bottle of wine and a couple of other drinks but as soon as the name of the bottle left our lips he was gone, it went on like that for the rest of the evening. The food was completely underwhelming, I ordered the local buttermilk fried shrimp and when it arrived it looked and tasted like something you would get at red lobster."

  • "We enjoyed a delicious meal at Blossoms on Father's day evening. The food was delicous and we appreciated the chef having some flexibility with our dinner selection modifications. Some folks were not as hungry as others and there were small plate options. The server was attentive but not hovering over us. The restauratnt was quiet enought that we could enjoy a converstaion. Blossoms is very consistent with good food."

  • "Blossom is one of my favorites downtown. Wasn't overly crowded even on a holiday, that's not always true, but nice to know that I don't have to make reservations months in advance. Love the small plates just the right amount of food to where I don't feel stuffed at the end of the meal! And the food was delicious as always."
