BlossomBlossom Bloomed!I went to Blossom with three girlfriends for an early dinner on a Friday night. We enjoyed the ambience and the food. We all got either a small plate or a pizza, and either dish was filling. The She Crab soup was divine. The food is seasonal and it is so hard to make up your mind what to have. The old standbys like shrimp and grits are so good but the chief's specials for the day are fantastic. I had a delightful fish soup and wanted to go back the next day and have it again. My husband had a fried oyster salad, delightful. With our meal we enjoyed a "Sky Valley" sauvignon blanc. However, SC summers are sultry. So, that outdoor area would be uncomfortable. The server we had, whose name I have forgotten, was knowledgeable and friendly. I have been at the Blossom and its sister restaurant, the Magnolia on numerous occasions. The latter is more formal and pricey. However, both are enjoyable. The duck is the chef's favorite, and he likes his medium-rare. Both items were flavorful and, personally, I'll go back and order the duck for myself on the next visit!
The sommelier very generously took back a bottle of wine that we suspected of being on the verge of turning, and then recommended something based on what we wanted to order.

We had the calamari, which was done with little southern twist buttermilk fry! My husband slao had the sausage app, and lived it! The bartender was great, and had good advice for things to do and places to eat. We enjoyed our time, so decided to come back for dinner a few nights later.
Another wonderful time! It was so hard to choose what to order because so much looked good! I has the pecan crusted flounder, and it did not disappoint. My husband had the Tuna. We weren't too hungry, so didnt do desert, but the options almost convinced us!

The menu had items that were traditional brunch fare, but also had items that were creative and made the choice more difficult because you wanted to try so many. The wait staff was their usual friendly, informative selves. We eat here often because we know we will have a wonderful experience. We took seats outside to take advantage of the great weather. Amy was our waitress, I can't say enough about her. She was very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and helpful by offering suggestions on the menu. Amy even loaned me her book on the Spoleto Festival so I could decide which events to take in. The food was fresh, nicely prepared and very reasonably priced. The manager stopped by to see how we were enjoying our meal, that was a nice touch. I feel they truly care about the food they prepare and giving their customers a good dining experience. They called that evening to confirm, which was great. We arrived almost 30 minutes before our reservation, and they seated us immediately! The food was wonderful, we didn't feel rushed at all, and I appreciated the fact that it wasn't a buffet, but a fabulous menu that both my husband and I enjoyed and our 15 year old was easily able to find something she liked. This time there were two issues. First - it was COLD. The tables near the windows are under the AC vents and blew directly on us through dinner. I wouldn't sit there again. Second - my shrimp and grits were good, just good not great. Could use more flavor. My companion's flounder was fabulous, as was our oyster appetizer. The service was also superb. Busy. They seated us within 2normal minutes at a table for 2 with a nice view of the outside dining area which had a fountain & pretty flowers. Our waitress was very pleasant and very efficient. She helped service a party of 20 near us and never missed a beat with our table.
