I had the best salad at bloom. The menu consisted of a 4 course meal that made me try an option I would have never chosen on my own. The menu wasn't available when I booked so that I ended up having lamb. To my surprise it was wonderful. The desert was gluten free, light, and tangy. Presentation was outstanding. Loved the mellon ball size veggies. A great way to enjoy a gourmet dinner for an awesome price.

We very much enjoyed our dining experience at Blooms. We met friends that we had not seen in a while and took the opportunity to get caught up in our lives. We lingered over a leisurely meal and did not feel rushed. The food was very good, the students friendly. An enjoyable evening.

We made a very minor variance to the menu. My spouse didn't want the soup and I didn't want the dessert. This seemed to really confuse the issue and we had some difficulty in getting service co-ordinated after that. Finally, there was a very long delay in getting our bill and in finally getting access to the card reader machine--probably about 10 minutes. We realize that this is a teaching environment but in all of our previous experiences at the location, we have never had this experience before.

The meal was a good except for the fact that it did need salt and pepper....all of the meal (except the desert of course)...there was no pepper available on the table. The seasoning could be better.....it was quite bland. It is good value since the students are practicing their culinary art. The wine selection is good and the prices are excellent.

We are fortunate to have this culinary course in our community. The menus are always interesting and the students are developing excellent service skills. The roasted corn soup on our menu was wonderful and the other 3 courses were also a treat, especially the pear franzipani tart served for dessert. The speed of service was well paced - perhaps a bit slow but it worked well for us as we had more time to visit, and with 4 courses it's good to have a little break in between. The china is attractive and the silverware was changed for the dessert course. We all plan to return to enjoy different menus.

I walked a fair distance in the rain to get to the door only to be told I needed to return to the car to put a parking pass on the dash of the car so I would not receive a parking ticket; had there been notification on the web site I could have pulled up to the door and obtained the pass and then parked; since I had recommended our visit I waited at the door for 2 other friends to park and I walked the passes out to their cars so they would not have to spend time going back in the rain to their vehicles. We were a party of 3 and only received 2 desserts and waited approx. 10 minutes for the 3rd to arrive; we only received 1 coffee and had to remind our server that we all wanted coffee. As a family of 6, one of whom is a student in this program, we had very reasonable expectations...good food, young students learning to cook, serve and run a restaurant, providing attentive service to their customers. It was only the 2nd night of live restaurant service, so timing and attentive service still needed work, and there seemed to be some confusion about who was responsible for which duties, timing of food delivery from one course to the next, even how many buns should be presented. However, I commend them for the outstanding food, presentation and unique recipes, and the special care given to our birthday celebrant. Excellent! I still can't believe we only paid $13 each for such a wonderful and memorable meal! Congrats!

I came across Bloom as a fluke and figured why not. I have eaten in a culinary school in the past and you can't get a better price for great food...and I wasn't disappointed. ( much) Don't get me wrong, the service was great, the food tasted wonderful but the presentation was a little blah....it needed a bit of pazzazz in the colour scheme. You just have to realise that these are students ( most are 1st years) that are learning by trial and errors so you have to be patient sometime but they are quick to learn but you have to start somewhere. I will be sure to come again and bring family and friends.

Despite the fact that the restaurant is in a school and you have to walk through white, sterile hallways to get there, they've done a good job in setting up the room itself so that you feel like you're walking into a fine dining establishment: carpet, soft lighting, beautiful decor, soft music, and a maitre d' to take you to your table. The food was superb and artfully presented. The portions are not large, but adequate, especially in light of the relatively low prices you're paying for this quality of food. The service can be a little hit-and-miss (the waitress did not introduce herself and forgot to bring the condiment cart by for one of our meals), but this is excusable in light of the fact that they're still learning. We'll be back!

My recent night at Bloom was alright but a little bit of a let down. The food was mediocre at best but the atmosphere and service were enjoyable. The menu I expected wasn't what was served (I had been expecting fish and chips) and that was part of the problem. The choices we were given were alright everyone at the table had issues with the food from iot being over/undercooked or weird sized portions. I've been to Bloom a couple times in the past and this has never been an issue.

I had an Asian themed dinner at the bloom. restaurant. The restaurant is run by the Conestoga College as a student kitchen. The food is decent, students had few good tries at the Asian cuisine, including steamed baozi, chicken satay and mie goreng. Overall, the food is a bit too salty and did not come out as authentically Asian. It was still very much enjoyable given the attentive service and a good drink menu. The whole dining area is located in a windowless classroom, a bit tacky. But you need to appreciate it for what it is as a student demo restaurant. $60 for app+main+desert for two.

I have been here a number of times, but I have to say I was disappointed this time with the quality of food. The menu was italian, and they had only one item that was a veg entree. I would go again, but I would think the chef in charge should step up his supervision.
