  • Parking Details: If you are planning on joining us by car please enter the "East Entrance" parking lot off Marsland Street. At lunch time you will require a parking pass. There will be a student standing outside the "East Entrance" door to greet you and provide you with a pass. There is no parking pass required for dinner service but you may still look forward to being greeted by one of our students who will be waiting to direct you to the dining room. Our full service, upscale dining room offers exquisite 3- and 4-course meals and has recently been recognized by the Wine Spectator Magazine as having one of the best restaurant wine lists in the world. Aspiring Chefs and Restaurant Managers gain real life experience applying the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom, by preparing and serving high quality food under the watchful supervision of our industry expert instructors.   • "Despite the fact that the restaurant is in a school and you have to walk through white, sterile hallways to get there, they've done a good job in setting up the room itself so that you feel like you're walking into a fine dining establishment: carpet, soft lighting, beautiful decor, soft music, and a maitre d' to take you to your table. The food was superb and artfully presented. The portions are not large, but adequate, especially in light of the relatively low prices you're paying for this quality of food. The service can be a little hit-and-miss (the waitress did not introduce herself and forgot to bring the condiment cart by for one of our meals), but this is excusable in light of the fact that they're still learning. We'll be back!"

  • "My recent night at Bloom was alright but a little bit of a let down. The food was mediocre at best but the atmosphere and service were enjoyable. The menu I expected wasn't what was served (I had been expecting fish and chips) and that was part of the problem. The choices we were given were alright everyone at the table had issues with the food from iot being over/undercooked or weird sized portions. I've been to Bloom a couple times in the past and this has never been an issue."

  • "The meal was superb, the mussels plenty, the sauce was finished off with the fresh bread, every last drop!!, the dessert was excellent (I didn't find any calories!!!!) The fish had a light beer batter nice and crispy, the fish was firmly flakey, not mushy. The service by Jason was entertaining, timely and the best server by far, he wins the GOLD FORK award. See ya next year."

  • "I had an Asian themed dinner at the bloom. restaurant. The restaurant is run by the Conestoga College as a student kitchen. The food is decent, students had few good tries at the Asian cuisine, including steamed baozi, chicken satay and mie goreng. Overall, the food is a bit too salty and did not come out as authentically Asian. It was still very much enjoyable given the attentive service and a good drink menu. The whole dining area is located in a windowless classroom, a bit tacky. But you need to appreciate it for what it is as a student demo restaurant. $60 for app+main+desert for two."

  • "They respond to special events and seating very quickly and expertly, we had a special treat for our 42th wedding anniversary dinner just recently, the cake was absolutely delightful, ate every last crumb, chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate, like chocolate heaven."

  • "I have been here a number of times, but I have to say I was disappointed this time with the quality of food. The menu was italian, and they had only one item that was a veg entree. I order the veg pizza and it came with a burned crust, topping were okay, but no flavour. Service was excellent, and reception cheerful. I would go again, but I would think the chef in charge should step up his supervision."

Just as before, we were very happy with the quality of the meal and with the enthusiastic attention we received from the servers/staff of the Bloom restaurant. We had a good time. Of note - the young lady who prepared our Caesar Salad gave us a history of the Caesar Salad as she was creating it. That little touch was fun and added to the occasion. Thank you!"

  • "This was our first time to Blooms. We had the beef tenderloin which was superb. I am gluten intolerant and Blooms has great options. Just let them know when making your reservations. We had read some of the reviews and were a little hesitant. We went with the attitude that these are students learning the trade . Our waitress was very attentive and the hostess as well. The meal was delicous and our dessert was cherries jubilee, done to perfection. I would highly recommend Blooms. The price is fantastic and the experience was delightful."

  • "The experience started out a bit on the negative side - but when the main meal arrived - outstanding - the beef you could cut with a butter knife - done to perfection - compliments to the chef. The wait staff have a few things to work on ... we had to ask for bread twice and when arrived no butter - had to ask for that. Wait staff need to serve properly and not reach over for client's dishes to serve others, they need to be aware of filling up water, bread and wine. The floor manager was great and very good at keeping everyone comfortable and his advice towards wine selection was excellent. We are returning for the Asian evening with another couple and are confident in another fine meal."

  • "We enjoyed our experience, as usual. The students make a real effort to make guests feel welcome and I appreciate that very much. The onion soup was stellar, but the rest of the meal wasn't. The under-seasoned pork was not hot enough and the mixture of "ancient grains" was dull. There was no chutney on the plate. Also, two pieces of pork would have been adequate for lunch. My friends enjoyed the creme caramel. My ice cream (ice milk?) was frozen solid -- it had been plated and then popped in a freezer, without the raspberry coulis or cookies. This was the moment when the server faltered. I pointed out that the ice cream was inedible and wondered about the missing components. I got a deer-in-the-headlights response and she wandered off."

  • "We found the pear and parsnip soup to be flavorful but it needed a touch of unctuousness, some yoghurt perhaps, given that it was lightly curried. The flan had garlic in it, usually a big mistake in a custard, especially since two of us got big, off-putting mouthfuls of garlic. In such a small flan I would have chopped the mushrooms more finely. The osso buco was tasty but not tender. The saffron-infused risotto was gummy and too al dente. On two of our plates the carrot coins were burned black on one side -- the hidden side. That was naughty. The dessert was pleasant but needed some serious dark chocolate. The coffee was great. The servers were terrific. We were charmed by how seriously they seemed to take their work."

  • "Excellent dinner. Ample parking with signs to show us the way to the restaurant. We were greeted with big smiles and a "Welcome." Our coats were hung immediately after we arrived. The service was attentive but no overly so. We enjoyed a wonderful Washington red wine. The roasted corn and potato chowder was served piping hot and perfectly seasoned. Beef tenderloin, though small in portion, was perfectly cooked - medium rare. We were able to talk without shouting. Forgotten cutlery was quickly brought for dessert when asked along with a gracious apology. It was a thoroughly delightful experience."

  • "My mother and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Bloom last week - excellent and unexpected flavours thoughtfully presented. The meal and experience were worth far more than our wee check reflected. I noted an allergy in my Open Table reservation and expected it would preclude me from enjoying some elements of the meal given the set menu. Upon arrival, the server was aware of my allergy, which was accommodated in every element of every dish! A special portion of the menu dessert had been prepared, which was such a nice surprise. Beyond the personal attention, everything we were served was wonderful and beautifully presented. These are obviously passionate professional chefs with very bright futures - hopefully we can keep them in the K-W area!"
